Technically, people do tend to "buy" the warranty too, so to speak.

For instance, if the Acer being discussed here were to be sold for RM2500 albeit with no warranty, would you make the purchase?

while acer warranty is standard, and when we buy acer's we wont expect much more from their warranty then their awesome spec...
Dell is different as one purchase the item, would expect exceptional support and service.
Support as being the point for buying a Dell, for Acer its warranty is all about insurance for the hardware, dont you agree?

the weird thing is i have a friend who dropped his 6935g and i forgot what didnt work.. Highpoint Service exchanged the parts and back to normal LoL.. I wonder what is that? Do they include accidental damage? He did told the manager he dropped it by accident.. In 3 days its back new even replaced the damaged case..

Im guessing the manager just tried to please him.. as i recall acer extended warranty doesnt have accidental damage covered.. But they did state Parts and Labour warranty.. So maybe the service centre claimed it as "normal damage" lol..

used for 4 year b4 i got my new s42..never claim warranty..so dunno...
but accidental damage should be reviewed case by case basis...
i trust if the damage is fixable then the service center would be too hard on customer la...

My point exactly. You generally get what you pay for. And as I said, people tend to "buy" the warranty more than they know.

I remember reading an article on a study done on the amount of profit made by allowing customers to extend their warranty, at a price. Cant recall the exact figures, or the article in question, but I think that it concluded manufacturers such as Dell actually gained most of their revenue from said extended warranty sales.

hi guyz... im sure dat Acer Aspire 5740G-524G50 will be on sale starting from monday officially... bt some acer outlets already start selling it... about Acer Aspire AS5740G-6979, im too hunting for it... bt according to acer, this model might nt available in malaysia... singapore maybe yes... bt currently they bringing in Acer Aspire 5740G-524G50 to malaysia, in US, they start selling AS5740G-6979 on 17 january.... and expected selling price in malaysia will b higher a bit...and according to notebookcheck, the performance of 5470 gona be as 4570... which gonna be killer for studio 15... so 5740G-524G50 will be very worth it for RM2999...

Does Acer offer extend warranty or not?

For 1 year Warranty, is it we can claim more then one time if any of the hardware spoil, or we can only claim one time in i year?
