the only thing s57 is great against this new hottie is probably the blu-ray

ram is upgradeable .so no worries there .
gpu play more important role if you are getting for the purpose of gaming than the cpu

On steroid as in faster memory speed?

I'm under the impression that HD5470 is better than HD4670 in that it has DirectX11 and lower power consumption while the latter doesn't.

Pls correct me if i'm wrong.

HD5650 would be around HD4650 - HD4670 LoL in a benchmark.. I think it would be over 4670 though..

i can guarantee u that even in DX11 games, HD4670 will still perform better than HD5470, as in the frames per second...

HD5470 has only 80SP, which is the same as HD4570.... but of course, since HD5470 is made in 40nm, the core clock will be slightly higher... with the option to go with GDDR5, which provides twice the bandwidth of GDDR3, that's wat make HD5470 to be a HD4570 on steroid...

HD4670 has 320SP by comparison...

anyway, if u ask me, unless the HD5470 goes with GDDR5, i dun see the harm of sticking to HD4570...

Added on January 10, 2010, 9:41 pmis very hard to c 15 inch in malaysia they say they will take 4740G 14 inch no 15 inch one same price... but i prefer bigger size .. 14 inch is too small for me if got 17 inch lagi good dunno when they take 5740G to malaysia ??

or in orther words , should go for dell studio 15 which with 4570 ??

if u can wait then u wait a little while for other companies to roll out their i5 + ATI 5000 series lo...but it wont b cheap...

Based on the HD5470's specifications, I'd say it will be even faster than the HD4570, though by how much, I can't honestly say. It has faster clocks and the same number of stream processors as the HD4570, not to mention native DX11 support. Which means this is an overall better unit than the Studio 15.

try put both side by side, try their graphic, picture, lcd, colour, heat, design and keyboard etc etc, but 1 thing, warranty no ppl beat dell.
