Martini eh. I prefer 女儿红 or maybe that Leave brand you told me about. The St Gate still has it uniqueness. It is the sweetness in its aftertaste. As the advert love to drill in on 先苦后甜

QUOTE(subangman @ Dec 12 2010, 11:57 PM) There were many MPO Musicians among the audience that night. The many feedback we got were : 1) Most of them said that ALL I ASK OF YOU song was their fav. 2) The next most popular song was the FISHERMEN SING AT DUSK song. 3) After our Concert...1 MPO Musician commented she cant do the things we did that night eg.. telling spontaneous Jokes, dancing the NOBODY song and playing many multiple musical instruments 4) There were many people who said that they didnt expect to see a fun concert at all! They expected the concert to be serious with no laughter at all. 5) They said the SINGING VIOLIN moment was unique and an eye opening experience. 6) The audience absolutely LOVED the World Class Violinist...(Mr ION) after he played the freaking hard Gypsy Folk Songs. 7) Audience were glad we performed extra 30 minutes making it a 1 hour 30 minutes concert instead of only 1 hour. That's real value for RMM10 per ticket!! 8) Ticket sales was completely sold out...including the 2 higher tiers upstairs. WHen you saw the few empty seats...that's cos of the horrible traffic that day that forced a few people miss the concert. 9) Some commented they wanted me to tell more Jokes 10) I did say on the Mic that my Band would love to do a 1 hour Concert featuring Chinese Folk Songs...and many people said they will love to see us do that in MPO in 2011. QUOTE(empire @ Dec 13 2010, 01:32 AM) 3) After our Concert...1 MPO Musician commented she cant do the things we did that night eg.. telling spontaneous Jokes, dancing the NOBODY song and playing many multiple musical instruments Telling jokes had never been part of MPO identity. It is a serious thingy. I am not sure if MPO made an exception for "Happy Hour". I think it is best if you ask MPO if they are okay with it for future purpose.4) There were many people who said that they didnt expect to see a fun concert at all! They expected the concert to be serious with no laughter at all. Many people would regard dancing as not part of classical music. This is the conservative mentality. Dancing is unavoidable for concerts by contemporary artists. Playing multiple instruments I had no coment. I guess classical concerts are about speciality in one instrument. I think those comments are form a classical music prespective. You had intended from the start to change the trend and it had seen some minor disagreement. I am not sure if the comments are valid. I think MPO will be the best person to judge. If they call you again, then it is obvious that they had no qualm with how you do your show. |

Faceless...among the MPO Musicians that attended that night's concert were the Tuba Priciple, Cellist, Violist, Violinists and Trombonist. They were pretty surprised there were many laughters in the concert.
You are right. They gave their feedback based on their strong classical background. That was why the Violinist said she cant do the things we did on stage....though all 4 of us were deeply rooted in Classical too like them. MPO people have given us the thumbs up after our concert :-D That is why I'm treating my Girls and Mr ION to a wonderful brazillian buffet tonight to celebrate our sold out Concert. Added on December 13, 2010, 1:25 pmMr Ion also added these comments after getting more feedback from MPO: 1)Our Concert was one of a kind in MPO history to date. This was the 1st time where "Around The World in 1 Day" Concert was done...where World music mixed with Pop were performed. 2) MPO have never had a Pianist cum Singer. It was always a Pianist playing Piano but the pianist doesn't sing. None of them did. The 1st person was me. 3) Ion's SINGING VIOLIN moment was epic! MPO's top officers congratulated him after the concert behind stage for bringing a new dimension in concert performance for MPO. He's the 1st person to perform his SINGING VIOLIN in the World. 4) When my Girls sang and danced NOBODY, they were the 1st performers to dance on MPO stage. 5) Ion was the 1st Violinist to perform Gypsy Folk Songs in MPO....and man...he was a beast on the violin! 6) I was the funniest Host on Wednesday Happy Hours Concert so far in MPO history. Hehehe...This one I dont know for sure...but since many people were laughing that night after my Jokes...it's well worth the effort. 7) We were the 1st Band that performed 1 and a half hour in what was supposed to be a 1 hour concert. The traffic Jam was still horrible at the end of our given 1 hour time...so I asked the audience if they wanted to hear mroe...and they said yes...so we gladly obliged so that they need not go out to endure the jam. 8) This is the 1st time Zhongruan was used in Pop Music in MPO. Karenalvin,
I heard of the association but not the event. I would not mind going to the watch for the exposure to contest. Unfortunately they choose Christmas Day. Subang, You sending Mei-mei for this contest? Empire, I am not sure what to make out of the comments. Do they mean they have no skills to do what you guys have done or MPO did not allow they to do it? I also think sing along is not part of any music exam syllabus. Even when I play songs (usually 70s like Shanghai Tan) on my guzheng, I tried to sing while I play. |
