im still learning this WM.

can somebody tell me the definition of these 3 type of rom.
-spl rom
-radio rom
-firmware rom

wth with all of those 3?


I know a type of rom which is Valkyrie ROM. thus, what the kind of this one among those 3?

SPL - U need to only hard spl once to enable you to flash custom rom

radio - it's the radio of your phone, which is responsible for phone calls, smses and also GPS

Firmware rom - this is the one u refered as valkyrie rom. There are many other chefs out there who cooks rom for the X1.

how about radio? is it customizable? if so, which one is most stable now.

SPL is kinda like a bios to winmo phone. Hard-spl is to hack / unlock the bios so that it allow the flash of non-official rom / radio.

if u flash official rom, stock rom in another term, u will notice that radio and winmo rom will be together. both radio n rom will be flashed.

if u flash 3rd party rom, they will normally only put winmo in the rom files.

there is a few radio to flash independently, u could even flash radio from other devices such as blackstone, raphael n all. bcaz of almost identical hardware. there is v1.06, v1.10, v1.14, v1.16 for official xperia. v1.16 works well for most of us. u can flash that.

It could be new thing for me to flash the radio since I only knew how to flash the Winmo only.

and now...my X1 is getting worse..the screen stay blank (before this, blank only when i slide-out hw keyboard). had to use my backup phone. anyone had repair their phone with the same problem?

That's normal for sliding phones.
All sliding phones has that problem sooner or later.
You just have to change the ribbon.

PS: The flex ribbon isn't cheap.

Was trying to to remove the quick link names in the registry, ended with screwing up the whole registry & now HTC Sense won't load at all.
Now flashing my X1.

Hmm... Garmin XT doesn't work after installing Resco Explorer.
Tried 3 times, the result is the same.

@tompok or who are using 24001.

read some post in xda. some say the battery life better than prev rom but seems like im having prob with this. my battery drain fast like prev rom. install enable landscape cab also facing the prob. regarding the speed i still feel the same when load my phone.. need to wait quite some time. data connection always unstable.. always appear the message could not connect. (dunno its telco prob or what). the volume also problem me.. install all the recommended cab but still got problem. thats all my current prob after few days using this 24001 rom.

dunno its a silly question or what.. also read some post on xda. they ask regarding enable manila animation. actually what this means? is it the weather movement? if the current already cooked in manila. can any other manila version overtake the current manila that already cook in.

if there any other way to uninstall things in x1 other than remove program?
