This is the nature of Prescott core.
Added on January 31, 2010, 10:43 pmHi all, this thread is so quiet. I have just clean off my CM690 from dust for the first time. The filter on the casing is doing a very good job except the one beside the panel which doesn't come with filter.

Guess what, too may of our members shifting to new era of 'i" series... even most of 775ers are shifting also. I just bought a new MSI board which before that caused me a big dilemma to change or not to. Sometime I feel that upgrading between the same platform is kinda useless, i5? i7? wish I got much money to poked out from the pocket

Technology is going on, and people change / shift is due to their daily usage. Anyhow, I guess i will still stick to my LG Q-series for another few more years. IMHO, i felt that the currently i-era is way too messy. With the roll out of LG1366 and 1156, its a pain on ass when thinking about upgrading after purchase either one. Diff socket = diff mobo, diff proc and diff ram in some case. @Ray, Going dying hard with ur P4? LOL.. What a royal owner! I had just did some upgrading for my pearl. Changed 88GTS to GTX260+. Not to mention the i3, the new member of The 3 Mouse"i"teers. 1366 or 1156? frankly I don't know how it works nor to describe it. 775 is another few years to use till I win a jackpot or the most impossible scenario, a securicor van carrying money to the bank skidded and turn upside down in front of my workplace. Then I'll talk about i7, seriously.
Now playing with my new toy, the P45 Neo3... hehe

"i" teers are meant to replace the old school LGA775 but is not the instant one. Now you can notice that LGA775 mobos are hardly to get a high end one.

I was looking for the the gigabyte p45 ud3r high and low, I pmed most of our mobo sellers here in LYN, randomly called some shops in lowyat and melaka as well and ravewar also helping me out in finding any sellers... it returned me no more stock or end of line product. Same goes to some models such as msi platinum serie and biostar tpower...

@powerwoot,i think MSI motherboard doesn't come with the good one except platinum series on P35. The test like Biostar T-Power i think is not really a popular brand even though the some is somehow having overclock at certain processors. I got feedback from my friend on his AMD Biostar mobo, their bios has never updgraded to support AM2+,he is

P/s: @ Ray, Yea. Flying high! Noticeable performance and FPS. Eg, run SF4 full HD & all max, 880GTS only 12-15fps. 260GTX+ maintaining 60fps.

But I'm also considering to get myself an i5 750, but have to postpone it for the time being. My pc got problem right now. If running without installing gpu driver(nvidia), can work without crashing. but after install nvidia driver, wait for sometime or restart, pc will most definitely crash

I think the older gen. AGP cards might not need the latest driver from nVidia. Have you tried change the monitor's refresh rate? in some case boot with f8 and enable vga mode, from there change back to your desired resolution and refresh rate that supported by yr monitor.
