Speaking of which, sorry to report, no clear cases available in the 5th Ave AppleStore. None of the Apple case either - which is the one that I wanted... sad.gif

Thought as much. Thanks for trying, bro. notworthy.gif

Click my previous spoiler. Then highlight the spoilered area. tongue.gif

The sticker price shock may be apparent at first, but think about it, you're getting a USB 3G modem, a wireless router, and a USB storage device all in a package no larger than your credit card.

Purchase and download Air Sharing, and voila! Wireless external file transfers between your iPad and computer. I have Air Sharing on the iPhone, and it works fine on the iPad. Air Sharing HD is has better looking interfaces and extra features, but functionally, the USD 2.99 Air Sharing version works just fine.

If you're viewing documents, consider GoodReader and the iWork suite of apps. These two covers virtually all format of publications viewable on the iPad. GoodReader even has the option of downloading viewable documents from the web from its built-in web browser. Really indispensable.

Scroll up my post. The price tag may deter some from getting but in the long run, it's gonna be so worth it, not just for the iPad, but the rest of the wireless devices I have with me.

Added on April 20, 2010, 9:46 pmThis post is made possible on my iPad via that MiFi. I'm posting this on the ERL train speeding towards my work place. thumbup.gif

i found the different that both device can support:-
dlink DIR 475 downlink is support up to 3.6mbps n uplink is support up to 384kbps
Novatel MiFi downlink is support up to 7.2mbps n uplink is support up to 5.76mbps

but is all up to service provider on whether they can provide such speed
*
Good info on this. I consider the Novatel MiFi a future investment. It's proven to be the device of choice of many traveling road warriors in the States coupled with Sprint.

Great gadget , pricey it may be but for what it offers in terms of accessibility and liberation its worth its weight in gold.

Thanks String for sharing and providing me with the contact.

And thank you Beavis for your time in showing me how to set it up
The ipad works like a charm with the mifi

Good to hear from you again, boss! I'm glad it worked out fine for you as it has mine. Another close friend of mine also got the MiFi for his workplace and home use, simultaneously. He believed in it so much that he suspended his Streamyx application, and based on his usage pattern, it fits him perfectly.

For the iPad WiFi version it should not take as long as the iPhone. The reason why the iPhone takes that long yo arrive here is that it needed pairing with a local telco for the data plan before Apple is convinced to partner up with that telco as launch partners here. iPad WiFi would not have to go through that hoop since it's more akin to launches like Macbooks or iPod touches.

The iPad 3G however, may follow the same path as the iPhone launch here. What may expedite the release here is the fact that 3G data plan on the 3G version is totally independent on any sort of contract plans and is on per-consumption basis, so any telcos here has fair game introducing their own data packages to go with it.

Bear in mind the microsim issue though.

That "thin wrap" is not some cheap kind. I would be wary myself if it is. It's high grade and make your iPad look like there's nothing protecting it at all. Scratchproof and thin, me like. I was an unbeliever until someone show the workmanship on his iPad. The point here is to get a good installer to do it. I got one on mine and it's virtually invisible!

No prob. Only the best for the folks here. The hardware is curvaceous and desirable. It's a shame hiding it under a case IMO.

Those wanting to know about the wrap service details, I've personally PMed you. Please also honor the request I asked on that PM.

As for the rest, I've good news. I am scheduled for a KUL-TPE-LAX trip next month, after roster been released today. The best thing about this is that, I'll be in LA between 8-11th of May,SMACK DAB in the middle of the iPad 3G launch! rclxm9.gif

As per my previous tumpang, I can help get iPads and/or accessories while Im there. Also as per previous tumpang, it'll require full payment before any purchase is made. If these terms are acceptable for you, drop me a PM, and I'll supply you the details there. Otherwise it'll just be my own personal shopping spree fir iPad accessories while Im there.

Added on April 22, 2010, 11:53 pmThose who PM me you get my terms and conditions. If you're okay with it, we'll discuss further on payment.

Im also exploring the possibility of interested parties purchasing it from Apple Store online and ship it to my hotel address there. I've done that for video games purchase through Amazon and it worked just fine. Otherwise I'll have to scour LA Apple Stores fir the items.

The day MAS puts an app on the Appstore is the day they'll equipped iPads to replace paper manuals and go digital. I probably won't see it in my lifetime, no joke.

MaxPC, appreciate a review on the screen protector. The ones available from in the forum are horribly oversized, Im not keen on doing DIY work on it to fit onto the iPad. Professional grade device deserves professional grade accessories.

With that high grade wrap, your entire back is your grip area, it makes the back surface grippy enough to do so resting on your palm. Otherwise it'll have to be the side bezels.

Added on April 23, 2010, 4:06 pmJust a heads-up to those wanting me to get their iPads for them, to be fair, I'll prioritize your purchases on the basis of who having funding me first. With the exception of the close friends I have in here(who have stuck with me through thick and thin, especially during the harder times), your iPad purchase will be prioritized based on this criteria.

To avoid the skirmishes I had with the "authorities" here last time, all further information on the tumpang will be either via PM, or if you have Twitter accounts, via my Tweets. Please be advised, thank you.
