QUOTE(Edoras @ May 7 2010, 06:59 AM) Documents to Go is better because it also can edit Powerpoint files too. Awesome, was hoping that it would be a free update But its a little pricey at $ 14.99 compared to Office2 at $7.99 Docs To Go also mentioned that Free Update Coming Soon --> "iPad screen support"... Does it mean, it will make Docs To Go "Universal"? And people who have purchased iPhone version will get the iPad optimized version too? QUOTE(Edoras @ May 7 2010, 09:05 AM) Not too shabby, word is okie, tends to preserve more formatting than Pages. Excel works just fine. I have not edited PPT before so not sure, only viewed it which I now use Good Reader for. The x2 mode really does make the fonts look fugly and since it is only x2 mode and does not scale, it really does not take advantage of the screen estate. That's my experience so far. I keep hoping for an update. |

QUOTE(minievo @ May 7 2010, 06:23 PM) Thanks guys. I'm currently using QuickOffice on my mobile, I guess I have to do the attachments thingy similarly on the Ipad. The default mail app isn't the best around that's for sure and also depends what kind of mail backend that you use. My company uses Lotus Note therefore the IBM Notes Traveler allows me to have push mail on the default mail app but I cannot accept or decline meeting invites and such so yeah some items for me still have to revert back to a notebook. I always ask IBM whenever I meet up with them when they going to make a full blow app for that.I'm a heavy email user, do you think the iPad will give me enough functionality to ditch my netbook altogether? Added on May 7, 2010, 7:00 pm QUOTE(Edoras @ May 7 2010, 04:48 PM) Maybe Pages? I bought that and Numbers (*only to find out that the damn thing doesn't export to excel This post has been edited by mAxPC: May 7 2010, 07:00 PM |

QUOTE(adrian_lmk @ May 7 2010, 11:27 PM) For the latest itunes, i can't find a none radio button in the credit card info for US anymore. log out of iTunes or if you have a fresh itune, just download a free app and you can create an US based account without credit card info. You can also do a search in the thread, believe a knowledge base article was posted there.Anyway, can give guidance on this?? This post has been edited by mAxPC: May 7 2010, 11:32 PM |

neighbors down south getting theirs in July, with the end of May for Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK, guess there is nothing going on in June. Wonder which time period we are getting. |

QUOTE(avengers88 @ May 9 2010, 10:44 AM) Guys , with the price of ipad . We could already get a good Acer It ain't a notebook replacement, think of it as being complementary. No it does not have any USB ports and it supports Microsoft Office formats via 3rd party applications or Apple's iWorks suite with information being available in the posts located in this thread so feel free to search and there is also a iPad app thread by String fellow so you can look into that as well.laptop . May i know why u guys pick ipad instead ? It doesnt have usb port right ? and duno whether it supports microsoft word documents and files . Mind explaining ? Why the iPad? Pretty sure everyone has their own reason for it, I see it as an additional device to take along with me whilst leaving my heavy laptop at the office and being able to do some of my work. Again you may have to see how it fits into your life before purchasing one, to fit your life around it means it may not be a suitable purchase |

Not sure about the July date, as I posted previously, Apple will make it available in Singapore in July and we aren't mentioned on that list so either we get it with them or we wait till August or heck no mention of anything going on in June so maybe we sneak in then

After watching the vid, I am tempted to JB my iPad just to see how well this would run Edit: Just tried, dang if you want to use both the Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse you have to download the free BTstack Mouse and pay for the BTstack Keyboard because it requires your native BT be turned off lol Edit: BTstack mouse works with my Dell BT TravelMouse but can see a tiny bit of lag but other than that works just fine, can't use the scroll wheel though. QUOTE(irvene2000 @ May 10 2010, 09:35 AM) International iPad Pre-Orders Have Begun Only applies to those countries listed by Apple for end of May and July. As we aren't listed the online pre-orders don't apply to us if not mistaken.Apparently the international preorders have opened but Malaysia apple store is not reflecting the change. Perhaps Malaysia is not getting it or it might be that the site has not updated yet. |

QUOTE(Edoras @ May 10 2010, 09:54 AM) Yeap you can use that as well, but unfortunately once you jailbreak and use BTstack Mouse you realize that you need BTstack Keyboard as well and it is USD 5 for it lol, sucks to have to turn off the native BT to use the mouse, but I guess without official support this is the only way to go at the moment. works well for people who have the actual keyboard dock.Added on May 10, 2010, 9:58 am QUOTE(irvene2000 @ May 10 2010, 09:56 AM) Let me rephrase. I don't mean that it wouldn't come ever, just not as part of the immediate outside-US launch. wasn't saying that it won't come ever as well, just giving a reason as to why our MY store has not reflected the change yet This post has been edited by mAxPC: May 10 2010, 09:58 AM |

QUOTE(Dozz @ May 10 2010, 10:33 AM) erm, not exactly the best person to ask lol I used the wrapping service as recommended by String, but felt itchy to want the Apple case, so bought as well, found that with the wrap and screen protector it made it difficult to slot into the case, and even when i managed to, it was hard to remove to use with the dock |
