QUOTE(jaelee1 @ Feb 7 2010, 11:02 PM) you didnt read what i said? I'm asking about how to make the picture have nice contrast + soft feeling + sharp ... I have problem doing that ... wah. of coz i read le...how do u expect me to understand that...the photo u showed is sharp enough already. the prob is it's underexposed. soft feeling u mean u want bokeh? the background is almost at the same plane with the uniform, u need the background to be further away for that. but u also mention dun wan OOF...seems like the uniform pic is focused nicely already :S can u give us an example photo of what are u trying to achieve? |

QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Feb 9 2010, 09:02 AM) 7.15 pm firework?? why not they try light up the firework at 5.30 pm when the sun still shining bright and see what is the effect since no one try it before. i think better get expensive filters rather than cheap ones...cheap ones give u flare Added on February 9, 2010, 9:06 am alot of brands out there, not pushing u for expensive stuff but if u just want a uv filter act as a protector to your lens, u can pretty much take any cheap brands but if u truly looking for a good functioning uv filter, u should go for the hoya / BW / Pro-1d series . 1 for the price of 2 cheap filters. Some even dont bother to use filters but i did see before how a uv filter save a lens in accidental crash. if dun wan expensive filters, better dont use any at all. juz remember to always put on the lens cap when not shooting |

QUOTE(latias93 @ Feb 9 2010, 09:27 PM) Nice pics man. I'll have you know that there are tons of people out there who buy D300's and D90's and can't take a single photo better than yours haha. The 'DSLR Revolution' of today thinks that the higher the camera price is, the better pics they take haha.. but D300 n D90 still nice..haha. thanks!Nice one pro.. I like the pics of the water splashing. What's the price of the 35mm lens you're using? my D40 with kit lens n 35mm i bought rm1600 2nd hand :S |

the indicator lights up in MF when ur focus 'matches' what the AF 'think is correct', so to speak
not sure if the indicator still works with non-AFS lenses on our camera Added on February 12, 2010, 10:09 pmi have a question for D3000 users what are your opinions on the GUIDE mode so far? does it help much? This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Feb 12 2010, 10:09 PM |

hello guys... quite long didnt have internet connection haha...
QUOTE(y_owez @ Feb 22 2010, 09:20 PM) is d5000 only one with titl lcd and video? cuz it is kinda pricey. retail in msia is 2.8k rite? with 4gb? d5000 and up all got video...but it's the only one with tilted screen i dont really know all this lens stuff.just upgrading my digi cam. really need some advise well if u're getting the D5000, the 18-55 lens is a pretty good start. if u want more zoom can get 18-105. quality is about the same. juz get the D5000 and either lens 1st...after a while u play2,easier 4 u to identify what lens do u want next.. maybe u want more range, or maybe u want a faster one... by then u can ask here again so juz get 18-55 or 18-105 lens 1st...if rajin can buy D5000 body only then find 2nd hand lens at garage sales... for now juz spend money on trips to take photos This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Feb 23 2010, 01:25 AM |

QUOTE(y_owez @ Feb 23 2010, 03:58 PM) thanks man. i have no idea bout lenses and stuff lo..what is 18 i also dont know lol.. hehe nvm nvm, no need to know what is 18 1st (it's focal length anyway), juz try both lenses at a shop and u'll see the difference. reading2 will only get you so far i'll be back in kuching so yea,, not much deal back home there compared to kl.. body and 18-105 how much roughly will it cost me? and bag memory card etc etc? Added on February 23, 2010, 4:03 pmand the warranty is for msia only? cuz i will be staying in australia for the next 2 years or so i guess anyway how to get international warranty? well D5000 body only shud b around rm2.4k i guess... plus 18-105 lens is Rm1.1k like that. memory cards are cheap. about bags, normally those they're giving away for free arent that good anyway hehehe. but if u get D5000 with 18-55 maybe can get around rm2.6k with bag n memory card lah warranty im not sure |

QUOTE(Faint @ Feb 26 2010, 07:18 PM) If i use install macro / close filter or wide angel conversion lens to my D3k kit lenas, will have any disadvantages ? anything u put in front of the lens will degrade image quality. but sometimes shooting macro or wide angle makes a much better photo that the reduced quality doesnt really matter |

QUOTE(reveur @ Mar 2 2010, 11:20 AM) 55mm is the maximum focal length of that lens. look at the 'bottom' of ur lens (got 'made in thailand') should state DX SWM blablabla and there's a '52' after a slashed 'O' symbol. that symbol means diameter, so the diameter is 52mm.This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Mar 2 2010, 03:18 PM |

QUOTE(User_Xp @ Mar 2 2010, 07:38 PM) sori bro.. we all need to start somewhere right..hehehei quite noob in SLR.. maybe D40 is enough for me please correct me if i were wrong... Added on March 2, 2010, 7:40 pm quite expensive for me.. or should i top up a bit to get D3000? i oso dunno how to use SLR perfectly.. talking abt features, d40, d40x, d60 and d3000 not much difference actually. if u dun mind 2nd hand, get d40 (and it's quite an old 2nd hand too). for a 'newer' 2nd hand find d60. in january i did see some shops still selling brand new d60, but the price is ~100-200 difference from d3000, so it's not worth it. better get d3000 if u want a brand new DSLR i think 2nd hand D80 can get 2.1k-2.5k like that if u want. anyway u shud get rid of the mindset 'because im just starting, i must buy cheap dslr 1st'. nothing wrong with going for D90 as ur 1st dslr, it's up to how much u wanna spend. not much, get cheap ones. got extra money, buy expensive dslr Added on March 2, 2010, 9:54 pm QUOTE(shinjun @ Mar 2 2010, 08:58 PM) I prefer to light up his face a little using reflector, but I think you don't have the time or equipment though as this is your trip. i agree, but i think it's a good shot given the circumstance ;p flash would ruin the mood, so better let the face underexposed a bit This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Mar 2 2010, 09:54 PM |
