how bout indoor & night shoot?
*
even outdoor at noon also u might have problem with 200mm without VC. if ur budget under 1k, u shud go for 55-200 VR, can help a bit.

can consider sigma 18-200 OS HSM, but expensive la like 1.7k i think. i wont beat the 55-200, but at least u dun have to change lenses.

can consider 18-105mm as well, shud be juz slightly expensive than the 55-200.

hahah good idea for a anti-smoking campaign tongue.gif in my case, 200mm, ISO 1600, aperture priority at f/6.3 also cannot get sharp shots aiyah

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Jan 28 2010, 06:21 PM)
why worry the range...its not like it wont fire if ur zoom length is at 200mm. Juz increase ISO by 2times..there u go...u get 2x fire range.
*
mind explaining why is this so? sorry i dont know much about flash ranges

is it true di622 cast reddish tone on skin? i wanted to go get sb600 but figured to save a bit for the di622..if true got reddish tone i dun want lah tongue.gif

di622 in kuching here costs like sb600 already +_+

Anyone can explain what is Active D-lighting ?
*
read here: http://www.nikonusa.com/Learn-And-Explore/...D-Lighting.html

i recommend it if u shoot jpegs. but after u shoot, got maybe 2 seconds lag before the image shows up on ur screen lah. not a big deal 4 me

u mean 450D with 50mm only, or 450D with 18-55 and 50mm?

if u get 50mm, u still need 18-55. 50mm very hard to use indoors in small room...for me lah

u can just buy 35mm f1.8 n stick with ur nikon. since when u get poisoned by 450D? tongue.gif

Compare 35mm f/1.8 with 18-55mm f/3.5, 35mm can capture wider photo right ?
*
wide as in wider aperture? 18-55 at 35mm maximum aperture is f/5 only ;p huge difference hehe

@dvlzplayground

For your D40 with AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G (both body & lens has no VR). When capture photo without tripot, is it ok ? since both dun have VR.
*
erm for a casual photog like me ok la. of coz in poor light got shake a bit cuz of the long exposure. tripod is still the best way to get blur-free photos, but i dont want to carry around tripod everywhere i go
