All poison to upgrade body, lol... i want but don't have the budget T-T
it's AF wit d40 right? around 750rm? hmm...
*
yeah can AF wth D40. using it now smile.gif actually even if i got the D90, i'll still go for 35mm instead of 50mm. this fast lens is most helpful indoors. 50mm is a bit too narrow for me in most rooms

hi everyone...i m new here...jz start my photography journey wif my d60...^^
i hv a ques 2 ask, is it ok to leave the battery in the camera when nt in use ??
*
if not in use for a few days is ok. if weeks or months, better take it out. same goes to most other electronics with battery

AH HA! Just the right lens i've been looking then, really need lens for indoors, lol.
Thanks a lot for the input, time to spare some money, lol.
*
welcome. haha nevermind only 800+, very cheap compared to 50mm af-s tongue.gif

QUOTE(evil_cutie @ Jan 11 2010, 05:02 PM)
ic...but idon't have the terminal cover to put the battery...so if i take out d, den just leave it there without cover ok ?
*
i agree with General_Nic. it's fine to leave it as it is, juz make sure it doesn't come into contact with electrically conductive materials. some people recommend leaving at 50% battery charge, put in plastic bag n keep in the fridge.

I like the 2nd shot. May I know do you always set D40 by -2/3 EV?
*
thanks. i have to agree with kenrockwell.com saying D40 metering is bad. tend to overexpose, but not all the time lah

I'm still on nikon, won't jump ship to canon even though my fren keep poisoning me with his 450D. My D40 is much easier and flexible to be used. With pop up flash in low light the Av Mode wont adjust shutter speed automatically, still low speed. And changing the AF point also not that convenient~

So i'll stay with nikon and upgrade to D90 if possible~ Nikon go go!

those were the problems i had when using my friend's 400D tongue.gif

ohh so even the 2nd pic is lens flare? okay thanks all smile.gif

it was a SteinZeiser brand...i thought it's a good brand eheh (it came together with the 2nd hand lens).

is the HOYA HMC Filter UV(N) 52mm (rm79) good enough? or better get HOYA PRO1 Digital UV Filter 52mm (rm135) or HOYA HD Filter UV 52mm (rm166)? i always thought the pro1 is the best but why the HD is more expensive?

what if i get the HOYA Standard Filter CPL 52mm (rm143)? since the price not much difference from the Pro1

I'm planning to get a SB600 when i upgrade to D90. Nissin's TTL is very weak... And build quality is very poor. But nevertheless it served me very well.

can explain how is it 'weak'?

can i get some opinions about this lens?

Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM

i plan to only use this and my 35mm, dont want to have so many lenses, hard to travel. some reviews say this lens is too soft etc but im not much of a pixel peeper. if my shot looks good at 1024px im satisfied already, so is this enough? also, if i get this would it be a good idea to sell off my 18-55 non-VR?

also, is it easy to shoot at 200mm outdoors with OS? how does the wide end compare to the wide end of nikkor 18-55 and how does the tele end compare to the tele end of nikkon 55-200?

based on your quality of work, i can see your expectation. With the quality of pics u get from fix prime like 35mm at high apertures as 1.8, its really hard for u when u start comparing capability in giving u satisfying shots. If u would have want a better zoom lens for travel, i could suggest u some.
Most people who reach this level having the same thought as u do smile.gif

if u hate to change lens in traveling = 24-70 f2.8 of tamron and sigma

ask your self how much u need that 200mm ? do u do birds , sports car , paparazzi?

if u ask me, i would love a 200mm for none of the reason above, i only want a 200mm with high apertures for portrait
200mm portrait in dx format = really have to get quite far to get a whole body shop but the bokeh is kinda crazy unbelievable.

Getting a all rounder lens like 18-200mm is not a good solutions to me sad.gif

prime produce the best results ( no doubt )

if u have to choose, a cheap secondhand 18-200 VR1 would be a good choice smile.gif
*
thanks, that was helpful smile.gif

the 24-70 as u suggested is great, but wayyy out of my budget hehe. photography is just a hobby to me so i dont dare to spend that much. im thinking about rm2k for a tele lens and a flashgun, and that's probably it tongue.gif i want the 200mm mostly for candid shots, although i understand i cant get good bokeh.

secondhand 18-200 VR1 still too expensive for me. do you think the 18-105 VR suits me? i'll be in kl 2moro so maybe i'll stop by the nikon centre at BTS to try it out. are there any other lens around that range n cheaper? with VR / OS of course

people always compare between the 18-70 and the 18-105

both are good for portrait but 70mm at 4.5 aperture makes 18-70 nikkor kit len the best choice for a cheap zoom len that can produce nice portrait and both at the same lvl in pricing

hopes this helps smile.gif
*
oic. but 70 and 55mm like not much difference eh.. hehe. thx for the suggestion though. is no VR okay for 70mm?
