The return of Sol Campbell.

Arsene was clever to let Sol train with Arsenal after his Notts County days. The Prof has now personally seen Sol train for 2 months and when he decides to sign him, I'm sure he likes what he's seen. At 35, I wouldn't expect much from Mr Campbell, but I'm sure at least he's reliable.

regarding sol's back,i guess AW wants to put vermaelen into song position, with tough matches awaiting for us in this january(villa, man utd, etc),and since with so many injuries with our midfielders, maybe its a tactical move from AW,we shall see.

not a bad suggestion. I think resign Flamini will be better if AW really want to play Sol. Current squad is just nice. If can resign Flamini. that will be good to cover Song.

Don't fix what ain't broke.

Vermy + Gallas has been our best CB combination, and there's no reason to dismantle this and replace it with Sol who hasn't played top level competitive matches for many months. Even if he's match fit he'll need to learn to play together with Gallas.

We shall replace Song with a midfielder and not a defender... surely not our BEST defender.

And what to do with Matty when Song returns? Back to the bench for him? That'll be similar to his situation in Milan, and I suppose Matty would rather choose the higher salary in Italy if he's going to sit on the bench no matter where he goes.

just out of curiosity, what made some Gooners think that TV can fill in the gap left by Alex Song? what had TV shown in half a season to show that he can be effective as a DM?

this is not me saying the said opinion is wrong. this is just me asking justification behind campaigning for TV to play the DM position because i certainly unable to see why

My 2 cents... not too fancy abt Sol coming
1. they way he ditch us.
2. he is old and slow, definitely over the peak.
3. Someone said he could lead and influence the team, but from the way he broken down, i doubt anyone would gave him any respect.

But then, something is better then nothing - especially in covering our thin back line.

Next, is the Pool beat us to sign Chakmah- for 25mil pounds.
I thought they are in worst financial shape that us- so that is a self destruction button? And why Chakmah keen to join them, Chakmah not a fan of UCL?

i wonder, i wonder

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has brushed aside reports linking Mauro Zarate with a move to Arsenal.

wooow...
would fancy Zarate return to BPL with Arsenal, but too small to be the striker we searching for now.

Sol return? wah! the return of Arsenal invinsible player... great combo last time wit toure.

Well, points are taken and valid to me.

Although AW didn't slash out at him that time but I'm sure AW didn't like it a bit... Portsmouth being "oversea" club laugh.gif
