Good to hear that smile.gif

Now, I am waiting for the SB subs to be here. No PB for the KLIAV since it is heavy to move around. Only PC12-Plus and PC13-Ultra along with the SB subs.

Luckily, immediate neighbour is Vismart. If it is other AV or Hi-Fi shop, the 13-Ultra's powerful ULF bass will surely intrude to the other room sweat.gif

On another note, I will discuss with Ron Stimpson when he is here. Probably I will arrange a special PB13-Ultra shipment in.

bro, you running it 4-5dB hot? i'm only 2dB hot with my pb12-nsd; maybe try running hotter...hmm.gif
*
Bro, going to KLIAV?

Many bass nuts here tongue.gif On another note, most of us never get enough of it wink.gif

Come to the show and feel the bass for yourself. We thought of doing a 'maximum spl' session during the show. Probably every 1.5hrs for a 15mins session. But, it won't be dual 13-Ultras to do the task as I am afraid our immediate neighbour will surely suffer sweat.gif

is the show this week? got some details to share?

btw, is the new SVS amp there as well?
*
Yes, it is. More info : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1383495

The prototype power amp will be there as the new mass production lot is underway and might not be able to make it to the show.

There will be new SB subs on demo; entry level SB10-NSD which is attractively priced, SB12-NSD and the higher end SB13-Plus. On demo, would be the S-02 loudspeakers range.

Mr Ron Stimpson will be at the show. We shall hold a product launch briefing at 2pm on Saturday there.

Glad to see things working much better after the AS-EQ1. Yeah, having it would make integrating 2 subs much easier. If not integrated well, having 2 subs can adversely affect bass quality.

Now I'm getting tempted by the AS-EQ1 again smile.gif Maybe gotta borrow it again to see how it can integrate my 2 subs.
*
Yes, it does improve by a big margin. I did not do any positioning for the PC13-Ultra. Just plonked it on the other side.

I must confess that I am hooked to dual subs. Eerrr.... probably quad subs as next project. That would be in my own home.

I would disagree with you on this after testing out the Paradigm.  It should out perform the PB12-NSD and its cost almost the same too.  In fact the paradigm can stand on its own against the SVS PC-12Plus.
*
I doubt it would but everyone is entitles to his opinion smile.gif Don't get me wrong. I hold high regards for Paradigm.

I have never run the PC12-Plus at 12 o'clock. It is insanely loud. IIRC, for all the PC12-Plus that I have sold, not even one at 12 o'clock setting after calibration including SPL meter unless the owner prefers to run very hot.

Bro, may i ask you to do a test again? smile.gif Subwoofer testing is not as easy as it seems. While many argue that it is omni-directional, experiments have proven otherwise. It is very important to get the correct placement for comparison. If the avr's internal room correction device, be it YPAO, Audyssey, MCACC, etc has been used for calibrating the the previous system, you need to run again.

Find an optimal position for both subs. Then, check all the settings on the sub including phase. Run the auto room correction software. Then, start the test.

It is time consuming but it is fun to do so except when you have back breaking subs sweat.gif

Want to try out some crazy low LFE? Try out Iron Man walking out from the cave. For LFE mid punch, try out Dark Knight where batman punching Joker's thug at the party. You can really feel the punch in your chest.

Bro, Ip Man 2 is worth mentioning too smile.gif When Twister landed those bone-crushing blows on Hung, it is shocking.gif This is where to lousy door busted open by the air pressure.

I have to watch WOTW. Heard that the pod emerges from the soil is another jaw dropping ULF scene. Have you try it out? I bet your whole room should be having massive tremors as if the pod in your room thumbup.gif

Time for you to get 2x DSP3400. The bass response will be a lot smoother.

Sad isn't it? Our purchasing power for many imported goods (not only AV equipment) is so low. Cars also the same...

When I was in Japan a few years ago, was shocked to see the price tag of the Estima. After conversion is about RM82K only for a brand new unit.

Coming back to topic, I am going to audition the JBL 1500 Array sub next week at Flagship. The Project Array loudspeakers really thumbup.gif

Before I send the SB13-Plus to those audiophiles' home for audition (with so many of them, it will probably be out for 2-3 weeks), I will try to pitch it against the PB13-Ultra for movie and concert.

I think I am very much a ported sub uncle when it comes to movie blush.gif Since I can set up both ported and sealed sub in the room with EQ1 controlling both (dual inputs and dual outputs), I can switch the Ultra beast on for movie and SB13-Plus for music smile.gif

Never know that you actually got the F15 sub from our buddy. LOL... Maybe I was too busy with the show that I did not actually pay attention to it. My bad...

Btw, have you been to Mr Tan's home for the calibration? I have yet to follow up again on the status of his HT system. He might be the 1st PB-U owner in PG.

True, but I am quite happy with my current preamp...trying to resist the poison to change the preamp. I just spent quite a bit changing from integrated stereo amp to pre/power late last year...cannot justify.

When you are in Seremban, I shall bring you to audition the full Holfi Hi-end system. Poison all the way tongue.gif

IIRC, he has a Orpheus DAC, Holfi Pre NB1 VCS, 2x Power NB250DC, Super Battriaa, Batt2riaa, NBS power cords and a pair of Holfi floorstanders. Can't remember the model name. CD Tranport from Studer. VP1 Turntable

The other one is Wilson Audio Watt Puppy with Jeff Rowland. There are quite a number of high end audiophiles here.

wait til you hear about multi-million hi-fi systems in Penang. There is a group of ultra high-end hi-fi system there.

Ipoh also plenty of them. Then there are a few in Sarawak esp Kuching. Need not to mention KL / PJ.

As for HT over here, the biggest HT room measures about 40' x 60'. The coolest HT system would be a prominent contractor's mansion near the Yang DiPertuan Negeri Sembilan's Palace. It's a complete B&W 8 series system. The size sld be abt 22' x 55' sweat.gif

Even the Holfi hi-fi system is being housed in a room measuring 15' X 27'. He has another HT system in his big living hall. Complete Klipsch loudspeaker system with Revel subwoofers. The Astro' audio output is being connected with XLO Signature RCA cables rclxub.gif

Probably he is busy making the subs for the bulk order from OZ tongue.gif

paskal, the PB12-NSD and DSP-3400 belongs to the same owner?

ronaldjoe, the Sub25 is the sealed sub to beat. It's price is surprisingly good over here. If for me, I would try it out instead of Submersive given those reviews.

Yup, Mark definitely has to improve his response time. Imagine all the extra business he could get... or maybe his demand in USA is so good that he has less time for overseas queries? smile.gif
*
probably. I think it is high time for him to expand.

Bro, still cracking your head over your room acoustic issue?

I think it is better for you to make time and come over to have a listen first before I ship the Ultra to you. At least, you know the 'benchmark' smile.gif .

The other day, I went to a customer place. His room has really bad acoustic and limited space to place the sub. I told him to rectify it first coz he ain't going to get much of the potential from his system with that kind of square room.

Anyway, I am glad that more and more HT enthusiasts place importance on room acoustic rather than 100% on the gears alone.

IIRC, it is around RM14.5K for the normal finish. Not sure whether it comes with the 'vital' PBK kit.

If it comes with PBK kit, it is a worthy purchase and local warranty too.

Somehow, I am still very much a 'vented sub' guy. Been listening to dual sealed sub for movies, still doesn't suit my preference. For music and concert, there is no single doubt that the sealed sub is the way to go.
