hi all,new n86 user here~
i just getting my n86 ysterday n the phone is far interesting than my expected.haha.its a vry nice phone!

i facing a problem currently,thats i cant read any chinese word and dont have chinese language to choose in the setting.it affects me alot coz many data inside the phone needed chinese language

any idea and how to solve it? appreciate all urs helping~

Added on January 31, 2010, 8:13 pmjust change pid to malaysia pid, then update using Nokia Software Updater..

if too advance for u, take the phone to where u buy, tell them please add chinese language..

i think its free of charge because the phone only 2 day old..

Started logging with energy profiler, but the problem comes 'suddenly' cause dunno whats the culprit.. Using 1s interval but wonder if the memory is enough to log for bout 3 days.. After that can analyse the voltage reduction.. Then again the problem doesn't come everytime so its hard.. My major problem..
1. Hot (dead) Pixel on camera. Confirmed after snapping daylight pix in cameron, the dead pixel is still there.
2. Battery heating problem..
3. Dust under screen..

Minor problem is the dpad is making 'clicking' noise. No problem with slide. But the battery cover is squeaking.. Now KnY comment make me worried, how can the battery cover paint peel off. OMG!! KnY faster show some pix...

Very easy only dude, just see few pages back. He posted a guide on how to change. basically just download nokia nemesis suite and change only.. No risk involved.

just connect ur phone to pc via usb (pc suite mode), then run nokia software updater..

update file about 150mb..

i think urs is AP set..so it doesn't void warranty..

if avaxx or zitron set it does void warranty..

avaxx set have chinese language..hehe..

Found one "serious" issue here...

I went for travelling for 4 days and I forgot to bring my charger. The problem is.... microUSB charger is rare, compared to SE charger and other Nokias.

So I could only see my N86 but can't use it for 2 days after the battery flat.

Buy a higher capacity battery. Go for Sun Global so far from the feedback of my customer it prove that this battery can last longer than normal battery at least extra 80%

currently on v20. tried updating using FOTA - no updates
using NSU - after half an hour downloading, failed to install the firmware.. @_@

I am new user of nokia n86. Buy it 2nd hand. avaxx set. Only want to ask guide from sifu n otai here, is it the warranty cover if the camera lens scratch. mine are scratch when using it for few weeks (originally no scratch when take from owner). I ask becouse today going to nsc - mobile technic sdn bhd, Amcorp mall. They said it not cover under warranty. Also to repair it need to change all camera and board (at the back) and the cost are rm276.
so, mind up not to change it and will lanyak the phone 1st......
