mind share what is ur plan. i started off without planning much, then i change along the way. its very hard just to guess the future. i started off with importing small quantity of gummies from germany. high cost. low margin. not easy sell as ppl dunno wat it is. like selling char koay teow in germany. then i added mineral water (best selling and best profit 150%). kacang and chupa chups lolipops. btw i got from supplier. but buy in bulk. btw, i don think u r really serious to get urself into this business yet. u need to research urself. if u need any info u can pm me. i got most suppliers now. (all brand u find in supermarkets)

my business module now is selling on modified motor with carrier behind. i go from places to places after work.

Hi

Thanks for ur advice..

I plan to buy snack foods from manufacturers and then distribute to shops etc. a distributor

I searching for China products but need to buy in bulk. I worry after i buy in bulk unable to sell all, i will face the loss.
So i m planing to buy from local manufacturers first and then distribute.
After i making some money, i will buy products from other countries.

Any advise?

may i know where is your location. most branded stuff have agents alrdy. unless u want try to get less popular one like tienming or sunbeans, dickfield

u can try ask socma, kheesan or delfi or dksh (imported brands agents).

as distributor, u have to exchange 1=1 for damage, expired.my case i take alot chupa chups becos even if i can sell and they expired, i can exchange for new.

Added on February 28, 2011, 5:18 pmif u import in small quanity. freight charge > products cost. cth product is rm1+rm1(freight)=cost rm2. unless u take in 20footer container. then ur freight charge is about 10% ur product cost.

my kes, dhl frm germany. product cost 30euro, 42euro for freight. 2kg

Added on February 28, 2011, 5:24 pmfyi local distributor is using van sales method. u get urself a van. put all ur stuffs. u just sell anywhere u go. cash term.

Not to be bias.. I am quite skeptical on Alibaba.com
Can they really be trusted? As in product quality wise

No.

AliBaba.com is just where all suppliers get listed, the more reputable ones will have a Gold membership.

You can then get their contact information and visit their actual factory/warehouse and meet the real owner in real life.

Disclaimer: I've never bought from China or oversea suppliers though, a lot of scammers from China etc so watch your back.

Hi,

Those names u give is produce candies. Do u have any company that produce snack foods like chips, cheese balls etc?
I know how a distributor works. I got relative work as distributor but in different field. I am interested in snack food.

Those China product i search from different websites like alibaba, their MOQ costs few thousand to 10k. Is quite an amount. That y i am asking around for cheaper cost and lower quantity.

try this link. mostly local manufacturers http://www.asiaep.com/malaysian/foodbeverageindustry.php. as far as i know, snacks like marmee, twisties, potato chips also exchange 1 to 1 for damage or expired.

actually i m almost to start my own business which is fresh juice cum fruit stall (look modern, tidy, clean and hygien). but i m facing some problem while really thinking of it.

1) capital - almost 40k - 50k
2) hands on experience and knowledge
3) rental - i found somewhere around puchong jaya, but the business need limited space and not the whole lot. very hard to get hald lot. even get but the location not so attractive. (also look before ss2(rental terible),kuchai lama (full).
4) partner - 1 need somebody trusted to share with me
my friend told me once u have confidence on your own business just go for it. think too much will cause you demotivated.

any advice for me for the above problem?

Added on February 16, 2011, 5:29 pm

yes, offcos why not?

just for your knowledge, partnership is a chargeable person and partners yes.

if you know how to do a fullset account till to p & l and balance sheet, then u will be able to calculate your own income tax (if u have such knowledge)
*
I don't mind partnering you bro...Tell me what you have in mind

I have always wanted to open a business but never seem to happen as most people I know are too comfy with their life

smile.gif Normally you hang around car sales staff and keep a lookout for trade ins. First you have to know the procedures like financing matters, JPJ matters and also study the market value. Then you have to have a group of repairmans that are reliable. Last note though, it is not a job for normal guys. Most used car salesman are crocs. So be prepared for turning into one yourself. tongue.gif

Dragon fruit are hard to plant as there are many disease in our climate. Not worth it in my opinion.

Consider planting other type of agriculture or go for swiftlet farming or fish farming.

Hi, yea i ever think of swiftlet farm but the cost was kinda high. My fren build 1 double story cost him 200k for the design and construction and I cant really afford that somemore I think the risk is quite high, cos I dont know whether the bird would like what I made for them or not. Fish farm, cos I am in sarawak I though everyone here would prefer salt water fish as we are near to sea is that true? correct me if I am wrong. thanks. smile.gif
