I guess you guys are right. Here really is the current best place to sell off silver for now. Unless the suggested buyers website is up.

Anyway, Will the price between bid and ask of the spot price a cheap price? it's surely cheaper than market price, cheaper than ask price. but higher than bid price, and sure it more worth it than selling back to seller at a loss.

Occasionally, BUAYA also helps to maintain the food chain cycle too, so long as you guys don't bully those already in need of cash. But as of now, I'm one of those BUAYA. Any meat lying around lately?

I think businesses will always be a few sellers and many buyers. If there are many many sellers, we will have a headache who to buy from and we end up buying from various sources for each rounds and bars.

So the best way forward? we will bring out our stores of silver and sell here occasionally, while we should also encourage each and every seller and buyer to visit this forum to buy or sell their goods, then we will have more balance.

And you are very right, logistical issue is a concern, which I think can only be solved by "not insuring your goods" and package them in small boxes which doesn't look like coins. I've many small boxes I want to throw, any sellers feel free to ask from me... size is like 3 cigarette box put together.

chef

Anyway, I over bought some, so I will be clearing some coins from my collection when the price is right. (maples, koala, bars..)

By the way, any one wants to exchange american silver or kook or harmonic etc.. for maples or koala or panda? I just want to keep 1 to 2 coins each.

Hi guys,

I think I should put up a proper offer so we can arrange for exchange in KL somewhere, any of you guys have a shop that we can meet up like hobbyist? smile.gif

Here my list I want to exchange away (all 1oz):
1) Canadian Maples 2011 - no air tites
2) Koalas 2011
3) PAMP with certicard (This I bought at RM 200, so if exchange, I will expect some top up)
4) Sunshine mint bar

Looking for (willing to top up cash, or just buy off from you) :
1) American eagles
2) Chinese panda
3) kookaburra
4) grizzly
5) wolf

Or any other bars or rounds/coins that you have spare, except local coins. 1oz, 5oz or 10oz welcome, I love large silver if the price is right. (meaning not market price)

Come to think of it, if we have the buyers website, I wouldn't need to do this. smile.gif

Feel free to PM me or put out you list and I will PM you.

And by the way, I love cooking but I'm not a chef. smile.gif I deal with rewards and membership card printing.

I haven't finish half watching half of it. Too long  biggrin.gif
But his point is that there are opposite wealth cycle bet stocks and silver.
So to make wealth, need to sell all silver when silver price has peak then buy stocks.
Then when stock price has peak, sell all stocks and buy silver.
Well, that sounds a lot like timing when to buy/sell stocks which if you can get it right, you will be very rich  biggrin.gif

And the thing about fiat currency, what's the problem? They probably invented that cause they realize, they can't make more gold/silver.
Imagine there is only 1/14 oz of silver for each person in the world. What can you buy with 1/14 oz of silver?

Added on August 27, 2011, 12:38 pmGot a question here:
Why is silver coin under tariff code 711810000 - Coin (other than gold coin), not being legal tender http://tariff.customs.gov.my/
?
Silver coins like eagle and maple leafs are legal tender right? So should not be under this code.
*
Yeah, everyone is looking for "THE FORMULA" to buy low sell high, but not many people get it. The old adage is "BUY when there is blood on the street" To be right, you will need guts and 6th sense.

I don't believe the world will stop using fiat money, the only worry is the country you are in are stuck with fiat currency. Remember indonesia when they are rioting and all business pulled out? Imagine you have RM 1 million in the bank, millionaire, then riot, then when you take out your money to use, it is only worth RM 100,000 or 50,000. You want to leave the country and stay in some other country, nobody wants your RM as it will be rendered almost worthless, like indonesia rupee. But on the other hand, if you bring out the gold to say UK, well, you will still get to be your RM 1 million cash in exchange. This are extreme case.

As for the tariff, well, it all boils down to, Malaysia manufacture their own coins, so it is to protect local businesses profit, just like furniture, plastic, cars etc.... making foreign import less attractive to local people, so we will buy "buatan malaysia". Many countries do this sort of thing though...

I like your way of thinking. Never thought of such extreme case yet.

@lustman
Are you selling or buying? What is kpg stands for?

Another question:
Would silver bar tarnish if exposed to air? How durable is the original plastic sheets that comes with it?
Coz a scottsdate 10oz bar has grooves which allow them to be stacked up. So i suppose they are not meant to be kept inside some air tight material.
*
Hearing from some expert and coming to conclusion.

Silver react to sulphuric oxide in the air and water, which contain oxygen too. That's why they are to keep in "AIR" tite. I'm no expert, but I would suggest many layers of protection for keeping.

1) keep in original packing of air tite or plastic it comes original with
2) put these into ziplock bag, please push out all the air from the ziplock bag, and don't use cheap ziplock, the strong durable one
3) put all these inside an air tight container, if you can suck out the air, even better, if not, throw in a HIPPO in the container
4) Throw in some chalk (I heard it absorb all funny chemical in the air, chalk is suppose to be....alkaline or something? I forgot, failed my chemistry)
5) Put this container in dark places not expose to sunlight and dry place, I think places where you keep your clothes.
6) Finally, some charcoal if you can squeeze in any place else.
7) And those silica gel (the one you get from medicine bottle or japanese crackers, but clean it properly, don't rinse it. it's good for sucking up all water.

HA HA!! I know it's a little extreme, but these are compiled from all the recommendation for storing silver. If all else fail, you can always buy the silver cleaning solution when yours start to have white spot (as soon as you see it)

If you like to stack up your bar, do it occasionally just to feel good, then put them all back into storage, else when it turns ugly looking, well, it will look ugly. smile.gif

Those vacuum plastic covers are fine but if it splits open, just use cellophane tape to seal it back. Otherwise the area near where it splits may turn copperish.

There is no guarantee though even in tubes or air tites, I have coins in tubes and air tites that developed milk spots. Air tites are better in protection though, but takes up a lot of space when u have lots of coins.

Btw, I got a friend who keeps some silver and gold in his wallet, he got stuck in Egypt during the riot and actually used gold to buy flight ticket out of the country, when credit cards were not acceptable.
*
There are some country that forbids bringing in gold or silver, or limit the qty, else you are deemed to be importing and they will tax you or something.

By right, I heard another story of a guy used his AMEX PLATINUM card to call for emergency transport due to riot in egypt, they sent him a jet or helicopter (don't remember) and flew him out. It wasn't a marketing ad, it was on newspaper, so it did great service to the card company.

But honestly, it's not something that will not happen, it can happen to any country, so when the country currency devalue overnight, all you have is the food you kept (those can food) and the gold and silver that you have. Think japanese occupation of asia, when they threw out local currency and use their own, and when they lost, we threw out their currency and use our own. But nobody is going to throw out your gold bar!! smile.gif

Physical gold and silver guys!! don't live life without any. smile.gif

Probably the more buyers register on it then you will have a very good investor's databse for your biz?

I guess I keep wondering if there is an easier way for us to buy what we need easily (small amount), without needing to put it up in forum which is mainly for discussion purposes. Those website offer 20 coins minimum! sad.gif

And I hope someone will provide the website, hopefully someone who is a dealer, as previously mentioned.

All who had met me knows I'm not into this biz, I'm a collector only icon_rolleyes.gif

So what's your plan to buy or invest? if you're looking for any coins or bars in particular, some collector and seller here have extra and they are willing to sell at good price, give us your list. If you have no idea how to start, feel free to ask experts here.

What is the hostility for?

Many people are opportunist here seeing the title itself said invest.

I don't see the need to question people's objective in buying whatever they want that they see fit to. It is their money not yours.
*
Hey guys, there's no hostility, just reading the words can be mis-interpreted.

We all did discuss this in this forum a while back. There are collectors, there are people who buy silver to hedge against inflation (to keep their value of their money on par with food and expenses) and there are people who is in for a quick buck.

To all..

Many new investor come in because gold is bullish, and so silver looks like it too. So there are more people who come in to buy low sell high. Then they will be converted to long term investor who use it to hedge against inflation. And finally if they fall in love with the silver, they become collector.

So it's just different of opinion. I'm one of those who come in, plan to buy below 40, sell around 48. keep the rest (if I can afford) for even longer, and I already fell in love with some of the coins. There's no right answer to "why buy silver" just different people different reason.

Let's be friend and exchange coins shall we? smile.gif

The bouncing dead cat is really slow motion. unless there is a serious oversupply of silver or the economy is doing great, it should be uptrend and not go down too much.

Any ideas what's the resistence level? I would say between USD 40 is the first level, very close. and USD 38.5 is the next. So let's see what's tomorrow's price is like, hope it wouldn't jump away up or down while we sleep.

Hey guys,

I'm expecting some 2oz silver dragon, 1oz kook 2012 reaching me early september. I know many dealers here are going to kill me for spoiling this opportunity, but as I have bought a few extra piece, any offer please PM to me.

I don't have many, just a few extra piece, when you offer, please keep in mind the tax, shipping and premium these are going to cost. At least you don't have to buy too many, take the risk and all.

I bought 10 each, so I will only sell 8 of these. Thanks.

2oz silver lunar dragon X 08
1oz silver kookaburra X 08
5oz silver lunar dragon X 01

Hi guys,

After receiving some offers, I have some left, here's the price,

2oz lunar dragon silver : RM 480
1oz kook silver : RM 220
5oz lunar dragon silver : RM 1,008
10oz lunar dragon (this I'm keeping for myself)
1kg lunar dragon (this is ordered by my friend)

spot rate at USD 41.50 (if it goes up too much, the price will move along)

I can still add in some orders for 2oz and kilo bar. the others have to re-order and these will take 2 or more weeks.

As for now, I'm clearing these at current low price, every shop I went told me to get ready to buy the dragon silver, it's worth the investment.

I should get it by next week, if it's not lost in transit. sad.gif

PM me so I can firm up my final few pieces. Thanks guys!!

lol, that link was to show how morgan bars & westminister bars looks like. my supplier is overseas but selling very cheap, just slightly above spot, but problem is i have to buy in bulk, at least 100 pieces. its the shipping thats driving up the price, so if i can order more pieces, then the price can spread lower.

i'm thinking of starting some private trading side-business (buy in bulk & sell here to suppliers &/or collectors), but not sure if can work or not. Somemore logistics & money can be nightmare  rclxub.gif

Kitco spot = $42.63
Average price per 100 piece = RM135 - RM138 as long as spot is below 43

Worth it or not ya?
*
Hi bigwolf,

Personally I don't think it's worth it, if your sole intention is to buy and sell off. Your money may be stucked as silver and if you do not have enough buyer, you will only be able to sell it off slowly.
Also, there are many morgan bars seller here, westminster I have not heard of yet. On the other hand, if the price of silver goes up, you will make a bundle, but if it drops, you will have to sell at a loss.

Having said that, I will buy some of these bars from you to keep and grow my collection.

Well, to be honest, I bought when the silver spot price was very high, and paid with paypal so additional charges. Sorry if it seemed high, but this is almost my cost (including meeting up for the deal)

Anyway, I'm almost out of extra, I think I'll keep the rest, seeing the price of silver is about to burst (hopefully up) I'll hang on to the rest and sell at a later stage.

As for me, I'll keep the silver till the market is ripe, then sell off some and invest in some farm or solar. Which is the other thing money can't buy if the world go into crisis.

Personally I don't see that too, until those shop who sells these collection told me to "MUST BUY DRAGON", and after checking for 1oz dragon, I was told it was sold out already, left with 2oz and above. I suspect it's the chinese who buy it for good luck and it sure will push up the price.

Being now shortage in the market, the price for DRAGON will defintely be way higher than any other lunar coins. So I decided to order it anyway as it happen to pop up at the website I was browsing.

Anyway, my coins should come next week, they promised. And with the price of silver moving up, you guys should just grab the dragon if you are a collector, for silver investor, well, ignore the dragon, the premium will be too high.

curious & wanna ask all fellow silver bugs here:

1. Are you investor (keep silver for long term) or speculator (buy low & sell high) or mixture of both (keep but sell some if price is right)?
2. What type of pm do you prefer in gold/silver ratio? 50/50? 60/40? 100/0? 0/100, etc?
3. What is your favourite silver? Bars or coins?
4. In what size? 1oz, 10oz, 100oz, etc?
5. Whats the maximum price you'd willing to pay per 1oz of silver?
6. What is your pm target? (200oz silver/100gm gold; 1000oz/0gm; 0oz/500gm; 500oz/200gm; 50,000oz/3kg  shocking.gif  , etc)?

As for myself:

1. Mixture
2. 40/60 - Coz silver have higher potential due to its industrial & investment uses
3. Bars - Cheaper ma  laugh.gif
4. 1oz - Easier to liquidate
5. Difficult to answer, I suppose depends on market rate ler. I'd say based on current sentiments, anything below USD50 spot rate? Buy on dips  thumbup.gif
6. As much as possible for both. Buy on dips & sell some if the price is right?  brows.gif
*
I think this is a tough question to answer, I myself have grown from stages to stages, but here's my simple answer :

1) speculator, then mixture, the later long term.
2) if cash flow allows, 50/50, but currently silver 95%
3) bars, because they looks nicer
4) prefer 10oz if can afford
5) below USD 38, probably a long wait
6) realising these precious metal are not very liquid, I'm only going to keep physical in small qty, with REALLY extra cash that is not needed.

Someone mentioned profit in paper buy in physical. Well, now I'm beginning to think it's a wise suggestion.

as for most customer
1. Sorry to said lah, most Chinese long term. buy2 never sell back at all. keep 2 long2 one.
Malay :- Some keep, mostly sell to their kawan2. become an agent. that why so many seller nowsdays
India :- not in the radar screen

2. Depend on customer.
Chicken :- 100% gold
majority still keep a large portion of $$$ in gold due to liquidity problem.

3. my preference
http://silvermalaysia.blogspot.com/2011/04...you-choose.html
U decide lah.

4. 1 oz is preferred.
For every 100 x 1 oz I sold, I only sold 2-5% of similar quantity for 5 oz or 10 oz. For those kilo bar investor U better beware.
I'm actually looking for 1/4 oz silver bar but the delivery time frame is 4-6 mths upon full  payment thus i unable to supply to U all now.

5. well, max price :- trade secret. The lowest i can get lah.

6. no specific target.
