He supposed to use Express Auspost.....thats usually pretty fast.
Atleast the tracking ref should be up. Its already 5 days since he claims hes shipped.

When Perth mint used it, it was like a week to reach.

Added on September 9, 2011, 11:01 pmMy main grouse is actually he doest not respond to my messages!

Hmm... Then you should be worried.

I bought from overseas and the experience is not good, 2 form US and 1 from australia, and one of the USA guy didn't ship out my goods and never bother to respond, until I left a bad feedback.

Somehow, they don't respond fast or can't be bothered I think. And there's almost nothing we can do except leave negative feedback. sad.gif

Wish you luck, let us know what happen o.k?

its for discussion, not for selling. careful guys, if u guys keep selling here someone might report u guys to the admin.

if u want to sell, garage sales ->
*
Hi spikyz,

Good suggestion, since there's so many buyer and seller here, let's branch out a new link just for Precious metal or specifically silver, how about that? Then the rest of us can keep that thread alive just selling and buying there, while here, we reserve for talking about trends, new release etc....

so mind pointing us to the right link? I found this place straight from google, so no idea navigation of the forum here.

chef

As for those dealers, and occasional sellers like me, let's write the link in our signature so newbie who comes in can see the link easily from many of our post here!! We will only occasionally post special offers here for everyone's benefit. smile.gif

Hey guys,

I have started a new thread without really knowing how to do it. here's the link, feel free to put it in your signature the specific page you are advertising your product. To keep the forum page not too long, keep editing your product page all old offer with new pricing until it is sold. Then new post for new item for sale.

All long timer who has been in this line, please help make that thread work properly since I really just want the ball to start rolling.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2029685

If this thread disappear with me as well for a few days, you know I've been barred from access for posting the wrong kind of subject.

chef.... cheers!!

PS oh oh, come to think of it, maybe should have created the new topic at garage sales like spikyz said, but then again, OUR SILVER IS NOT CHEAP!! so it shouldn't end up in a garage or garage sale!!

Hey guys, fellow DRAGON coin collector,

Anyone interested to collect this dragon? mintage is only 388, so I think some singaporean will be upset with me posting this here. It may not be popular overseas but I'm sure it will be in demand in a few years time singapore or malaysia. But hey, I'm new, so any expert feel free to share, after you place your order before it runs out. smile.gif

Yup, true,

Hey bassist, SGSKY also based in JB, I think he has got whole tubes of coins, so he can sell at quite a good price also. For me, I have many different types, and occasionally, exchange a few coins here and there. so far I had exchanged/buy/sell coins with the a few of these great guys here :

Goldchan
1cheapsilver
arrsoo
bigwolf
cruzzie73

and some other here and there, sorry forgive me if I forget your user id. we should meet up sometime in JB and visit some coin shop (dunno if there is any) and swap coins or sell some. smile.gif

I think william is based in JB too, but just never get to meet him or talk to him over the phone, I'll catch him one of these days icon_rolleyes.gif

PS feel free to PM me for 1oz or 2oz purchase.

I'm sure it isn't, just posting it at the wrong place is not allowed.

I've updated the GARAGE SALE, didn't really put anything specific about the sales, just like goldchan mentioned :

SILVER for SALE / EXCHANGE

here's the link and hope it stays this time, until one day they decided to move it smile.gif

Feel free to post your items there, I've posted my first, selling PANDA 2011.

PS The latest news, GERMANY is ready to surrender bailing out GREECE, EUROPE STOCK MARKET is tumbling down. Doesn't this mean gold is going up again? Anyone out there please update on the news and come back to us with details please?? I heard it over the news, but panic hasn't spread.

Weird thing is ever since last week when chf pegged itself to euro, european markets have continued crashing down but gold & silver also went down while usd went up.

used to be euro market down = usd down = chf up = gold/silver up
*
It could be that :

1) Everyone is thinking US has something up heir sleeves to save everyone

2) Since CHF is part of the EURO community, or at least in the same geographical region, if everybody else is not doing so well, CHF gets pulled down, and so since many of the GOLD bars are produced in swiss (the recognised one) well, the price followed.

Actually I'm just ranting, many times when I monitor market too closely, wierd things happen, and it actually serves to push out those speculators before making the actual move.

maybe we also need to consider which is more easy and convenient to store? bar or coin?

Well, if you are buying a few pieces only, keep in your room. if you have a few kilo bars, keep in your house. if you have a few kilo bars of gold, rent a deposit box. So far, I have aout 200 oz of silver and I keep it in one small metal box, no problem. put in some hungry hippo and smell remover, it's happily sitting in a place where I can bring out and oggle at it. smile.gif

I would say bar is easier to pack, my coins I put in square air tites, so they are also easy to store.

any recommendation for reliable overseas website to buy 1oz or 5oz bars?

Since it's not taxable, it could probably a lot cheaper to get from overseas.  cool2.gif
*
I'll tell you what goldchan will say,

go to the source and buy bulk, bring it back and sell to poor guys like us. smile.gif then we all benefit as long as you sell not too expensive. Of course the down side is, the shipment delay can cost you a lot if you order at high price and the market price keeps dropping, by the time you get your shipment, it's 20% below your cost price.

But I am guessing you have the holding power to purchase kilos and store at home... smile.gif just guessing lah..

Chef, will you believe if someone is to tell you the market is orchestrated? Maybe it is designed to sapu those speculators (large fish) and those retail players (small fish) altogether? Somebody lose money, the others gotta win right? Who won?
Too bad I can't meet up, but I'm sure both of you meeting at kluang and it's too far for me.

Anyway, I think gold and silver is too huge to be manipulated, but then again, people like warren buffet (dunno how to spell his name) are so filthy rich, he goes in, price jumps like crazy, he liquidate, price drop like crazy. If he gather a few friends to buy, he will be building his house with gold bricks.

So yeah, it's possible, but I think the real big time trader gang up using some kind of trading system to fool people like us into liquidating our position (like what silver is doing now, acting as if it is going down... then suddenly surge upwards) or the other way round.... sigh..

Any of you guys know who is always guessing the market wrongly? I would like to know him, and always buy against his prediction. biggrin.gif

Well,

I always heard goldchan telling me, his how many hundred oz on the way or coming. so I guess his volume are huge, sure you can swallow that kind of volume? If I'm not mistaken, if you go to his house, one of his room is probably made of silver. smile.gif

Hey guys, it's interesting read, about the hunt brothers. too bad we cannot unite, else if asia people all start buying silver instead of gold, I can't imagine the kind of power we will become, with china buying increasing, I'm sure it will come one day china mint product will be popular.

insurance is a catch 22.
If you don;t insurance, then it is lost no protection.
if you insure, you become a target lor.

even though U can said U won;t bear the lost, in ebay and paypal it is not as easy as that. and also the victim etc.
claims take years to arrive. Citylink never bothers to call me when my package is lost.

1st they will have to do a lost confirmation at their respective site. Once it is confirmed lost, then they will ask the respectively branch which loses the package
to file a police report.

during claim, they will ask you for your invoice and bank-in details.
a police report will be made by them then followed by claim department which will do the assessment and pay the damages.
now about 1 month already, still claim is no where to be found.
Insurance take ages to pay,

I have decided, do less business and have more life and less hassle.
if U cannot COD sorry lah boss.

Hey boss,

don't go retiring so soon leh, keep us supplied with silver longer o.k? By the way, are you able to get the chunky Academy hand pour 10oz bar? I saw one of the forumner have it, looks nice.

Aiyo, how did this discussion become like this, I driving an old second hand car also lah.

Anyway, now china is going to buy up italy debt, are we equalising the debt problem throughout the world? until the stage where EVERYBODY is in trouble? I'm sure Greece will look to china for help, then now china will be bosses of all major business in the world.

Imagine, English football club wearing LI NING, QANTAS airway logo is a BA GUA, APPLE logo become DRAGON FRUIT, China flag on top of twin tower.

So gold and silver are now stuck inside a channel, and I thought a few weeks ago, it's going to fly! sad.gif any analyst to describe the current situation from malaysia perspective?

Anyone bought some USD for hedging?

hi guys, lets say today I have a 1 oz silver coin and I am planning to sell it.
How do you derive on the selling price?

assuming the price of 1 oz silver is now USD 40, Exchange rate is RM3

what would be the selling price for the coin?
*
If I'm the buyer going to buy the silver from you, I will tell you to sell me at spot price, so that will be RM 120. smile.gif

There's no straight answer for you lah, you have to look around maybe what other seller is selling. Example Canadian maple, many seller is selling at say RM 150 each. Then you should try your luck and offer to everyone here or the garage sale (link in my signature) say RM 145 or so. Then you see the respond.

Allow bargaining. I always think bargaining is part of a business process, but it seemed the online community now no longer like to haggle over price, many of them just get scared off by high price. Although I don't advocate low balling (example market price RM 150, buyer try to counter offer RM 100..... hey too much lah!!)

What is the best way you think to declare your silver bar with courier? Looking at goldchan's example, stating it clearly as silver bar might not be the ideal scenerio.

Collector item for coins perhaps? What do you guys think best for silver bar?
*
hi 3think,

If you don't declare as silver bar, then you cannot claim insurance because you declare as toys. so false declaration will not get you money back from insurance. But on the other hand, if you declare PURE SILVER .999 bar, then the postman will weight, should he run off with your package, quit the job and sell off your silver and get the money to live for another 6 month, then look for another job with citylink... ha ha...

So in the end, buyer should be the one who decide how much risk they are willing to take, then pay the courier charges. Seller should just follow buyer's instruction and pack and send the goods as per instructed. Then on the other hand, if the seller is out to cheat the buyer and don't send the goods, then declare as lost, how? We should have a black list if it happen more than 2 times.

PS just my 2 silver oz worth of opinion. smile.gif

Just a quick word about singapore UOB gold and silver account.

I think what the bank do is, they take your money and invest it in the market in paper gold / silver too. or even physical, but they will buy kilo and not like our gram. so no matter how, they will have enough money to weather this. Like US bank, the singapore government will step in to save them in times of crisis.

On the other hand, if you know singapore UOB GOLD spread is only 0.10, you can imagine making money ALMOST within the same day, or by the next day, as long as it jumps 0.20 you already make money. No one can beat this kind of spread. for silver, it's 0.50 spread.

On the other hand, sometime we talk about the month charges they are charging us, but for those who speculate, I can assure you, you buy silver, within a few month (if you plan it right) you would have made at least 10 - 15%, sell and close the account. the monthly charges is very small compared to your winning. If you bought at too high price, well, then you shouldn't be investing in silver account, it's like a stock, not a savings account.

Ask those who are buying UOB gold saving in malaysia, are they complaining about the monthly charges? most likely most of them already made a bundle and laughing to the bank.

nonono, i mean, i understand that the premium of silver panda is higher. i am ok with this.

What i don't understand that is why the reseller in malaysian sell at 25% profit margin, it is too high to me. Let say, i can get the panda silver from US at 7.25 premium spot rate. after 15 tax, the price is around 160-167, but resller sell at 210. it is just too high.

and i believe that those resellers can get lower price than me if they have "source"
*
Hi SGSKY,

Actually sellers are all into business, they all started with the same thinking as you, meaning all seller have their source, they get good price, so they bring in and sell cheaper than other dealer. sure win. But things happen and we see many of the sellers normalised their price to market price. It's how business works.

I think the best way for you to know why sellers are like that is really to do it, start the business, like some one mentioned here, we know you have many panda and 2oz dragon and some other silver, sell at 10% above spot price to us, many forumner will surely support you if you sell let's say :

Example :
Lunar dragon 2oz at RM 340
Panda 1oz 2011 at RM 160
any other rare coins like grizzly, wolf, taku, mouse, ox, tiger etc...
(no minimum qty lah, many of us can't afford more than 5 per series)

etc...

No need to set up the website, let's start the business here, just put up your offer and I'm sure many will confirm order with you. Right guys?!?!

maybe we can suggest to open a sub-forum to trade on precious metal or collectors. each thread only for its topic starter to sell his own items.

Hi,

I dunno how to approach lah, can you help? since you are expert, if we really can't do it here, see if we can find other alternative. I would like to set up ebay account but not easy leh, the ebay store headache lah. lelong also limit the number of days, mudah have old list all still there, not very easy to check up on.

Hey guys, any idea?

must allow :

easy to put in the list of item to sell or trade or want to buy
can update edit or remove easily
will allow picture to be posted
allow to list for no limit no of days
without using facebook as I don't have one smile.gif

suggestion anyone?

I was hoping stacking is allowed, so we don't have growing list and pages to go thru, just go stright to the person's post and we know the updated list.

creating own thread seemed a little hassle..I don't want to keep posting new sales, just keep updating my thread. how?

Added on September 17, 2011, 11:36 pmHey, someone was mentioning there is a way to test silver content without scratching. I tried it at one of the china factory which manufacture silver (as a VIP) hee hee, although my purchase is small, and they have a machine costing RMB 100k that can be linked to the PC, showed the silver content of MY silver coin to be 0.9993 silver and 0.0007 bronze. WOW I'm impressed.

I suspect they are using soundwave technology for testing, anyone know who have this machine in malaysia? and do they charge for testing? I think someone should invest and provide this service for all bros and sister here to use. For a small fee without scratching the coin of course.
