I'm wondering how much would the local supplier be selling for lunar dragon.

I was checking the price for silver lunar dragon in gainesville and also apmex. Both are selling around USD105 per piece which would be around RM320 EXCLUDE shipping, insurance and also 15% custom tax.

I think the selling price locally will be around RM400 ? What's your guess?
*
There is already a seller who is selling at RM 340 for 2oz (i think), but I think he manage to avoid tax so he can really give a good price, but minimum order 20oz. As for 1oz, so far no news from anyone at all, I think it was snapped up by some big time distributor already. dunno how many million oz all gone before launch.

chef

PS My guess is, the final stable price for 2oz should be RM 400 to 480, 1oz should be RM 300 like those panda or limited mintage coins, at current spot price.

its damn expensive for d same amount of silver. taht one is more on collection rather than investment.

If everyone has the money to spent, the premium will remain or even increase over time. But if market crash, silver will only be silver, but I sure hope that day will never come in my life time. because I know, no matter how many bars I keep. it will not keep me alive very long. sad.gif

*
Yeah, you can only trust the certificate they give to you and the serial number on the bars. PLUS if you buy from 1stopgold, who is the official distributor for PAMP, and if they are willing to promise you they will buy back, you don't have to worry anymore.

But if you are buying from someone else, I don't know. good luck?

Somebody asked me this question before, what's the difference between COMEX price and spot price? Why do we always refer to spot price when we buy or sell silver and not COMEX price?

What's your answer to this?
*
I think COMEX price is for futures price, say for example COMEX silver december price is USD 44.50 while the SPOT price is USD 43.50.

Spot price is the current market price. Futures price is when the silver actual delivery in the future, as in December for the above example. So some people speculate the price of silver in december to be higher or lower due to supply and demand.

The futures market was design for miners to hedge their price against lose of value when they actually have the physical silver to sell. Just like those corn, coffee and cotton supply. (am I making it too complicated? sorry..)

Correct me if I'm wrong, all the dai gor or gurus. smile.gif

If you are based in KL or malaysia in general, well, everyone will tell you 1 oz is more liquid.

Anyway, I'm looking to buy kilobar silver PAMP, anyone selling?? this will be for long term.

And some risk if the amount is too big, that the goods will be lost in the mail.

I've heard so far all local courier such as skynet, citylink, pos laju all have lost mail before, even in singapore, recently alot of postman steal credit card and such from mail. so if they mention silver bars and coins on the description with insurance, it's a little risky. Just a friendly warning.

Hey guys,

Perth mint temporarily suspend order for lunar dragon 1/2oz, 2oz and 5oz. Too many orders and not enough production capacity to keep up. Then they are going to fulfill current orders and then start the 1/2oz coins production first.

How crazy are we chinese about the dragon?!?! smile.gif

I wonder how high the price can go since it already quite high already.

the problem is U never know. I used to have lot of goods coin but then all sold already.!  cry.gif
only left 1 pc each only. I don;t have the holding power lah,
the saying goods like this.
What you have is not worthy and low price. But after you have clear-out your stock. Price bump bump goes up. cry.gif

Last time few years back, British Trade Dollar can get for RM60-RM80/each. Now it about RM300-400 per piece.

RM50/- 50th aniversary gold line. launch price RM80/pcs.  My friend sold about 100 pcs at RM100/- each.
now it easily fetch RM600/- , only 20,000 pcs.

to be rich you must . "You gotta the power"

Hi Chan,

Don't worry, since you are my first seller and sold to me quite a few bars at good price, I will return the favor. When I have my hands on the lunar dragon, I will bring to you and you give me an offer o.k? Friendly price, for you only... smile.gif

yeah, since its the dragon, demand from Chinese markets will surely surge.
add that to the recent hype/awareness of precious metals, the coins will surely hav more demand than supply.
irresponsible dealers might withhold their stocks to jack the premium... hmm.gif
*
I wouldn't call them irresponsible dealers lah, they are only waiting to see what price to sell since it is just launched. Then take out their stock and sell when the price stablized. Can you imagine dealer who buy at USD 100, sell at USD 110 all their stock at one go, and then cannot buy any more stock due to insufficient supply, and stare at the monitor while other people start selling at USD 200 or so? they will be pulling their hair in frustration.

The irresponsible one are those who buy ALOT, as in 1,000 pcs or 5,000 pcs and keep for years. Then those left circulating will slowly increase in price until it's SOOO expensive.

Then us poor collector wait till our neck long long..

any feedback on sunshine minting silver?
*
Honestly, I think these bars like sunshine or morgan etc is to be kept as long term investment, they will not have limited edition, so they are like goods to be traded when price is high or low.

But I realized what these bars are for now. I used to think that the 1oz bar was created to be traded only, like cash, coins are really the money, but bars when the world goes into fiat money crisis. But I found some people selling "Home smelting furnace" where even you or I can buy it, bring home, put in the bars and mint our own coins or rounds or sovenier. That's why they are call minting bars. But for PAMP bars, they are more like coins.

In summary, I still like bars, as they are my long term dream to owning GOLD BARS like those in the movies, but just silver. So if I were you, I'll buy bars to keep, for long term, while coins is for immediate to short term trading.

How much are you offered the sunshine bars? and how many pcs per order?

guys, i want to ask. if i were to buy airtite capsules for my silver coins, can it be used with different coins as well?
eg, i have maples. what is the suitable size for it? can the airtite be also used to store eagles and philis?

based on some resarch on google, maples use 38mm capsules and eagles/panda use 40mm capsule. but i still dont understand the 'ring' function in the capsule... anyone can help?
*
The cushion ring inside I think have many diameter for you to break and remove, so if you buy a generic airtite, you should be able to fit some of the ring by removing the correct diameter. But i suggest that you buy airtite specifically for the coins you have. ask the seller and I'm sure they will know which one you need.

But if you are in a situation like me, I have 2 of these coin and 5 of that coin, then headache!! smile.gif

Wow, this is crazy huh?

But I guess this dragon is driving everyone crazy, even the 2oz currently has stop production, by the time they resume, all those with dragon would have made their money.

Lucky SGSKY, got his dragon already, I'm still waiting for mine sad.gif

Good luck guys, don't think we can get anymore cheap dragon for the next few month, and if the silver price goes up, makes it even more expensive.

i only managed to get 5 pieces of 2oz dragon and 2 pieces of 10oz from a local supplier.

It's just so difficult to get ...

why all these lunar series is so expensive  mad.gif

my friend in UK told me that 2oz dragon is selling at GBP90 which is about RM430 and it's selling like hot cake.

I tot only chinese like the lunar series, now it seems like the malay, indians and even the brits also like it.  brows.gif
*
You forgot to mention the aussie. smile.gif

They are the one who started this, and they are the one who limit the mintage (too stupid to provide unlimited mintage)

But as someone mentioned to me, the aussie do business unlike we chinese, so they don't see opportunity to make more, they just want to control the supply and keep up their name. which in a sense, another way to do business.

Anyway, tell your friends if he want more supply, feel free to buy from here, there's quite a few of us having a few pieces in hand to sell. smile.gif

i don't think the high price can maintain forever.

The 1oz is sold out in Australia, but we haven't seen the large distributors in US and Europe selling it. Some more, i still see some countries still accepting to pre-order 1oz silver and the estimated shipping date is mid of Nov.

Is it a hype? expect to see the price of 1oz drop to USD60-65 per oz when US and Europe start selling the 1oz coin.

I don't believe all the coins has been sold out. It had been allocated to the disrtibutor. 1oz Rabbit took 6 months to be sold out. 1oz dragon 1 day only ? Is it possible that the large distributor are holding 1oz stock together and want to make ppl rush to buy other sizes, like 1/2 oz, 2oz, 5 oz and etc? That's why we saw that the perth mint has suspended the pre-order of 1/2 oz, 2oz and 5 oz

Above is just my thought, your opinion ?
*
Personally, I don't think so lah,

as mentioned, the aussie don't think like chinese. If this is sold by china mint, wah I tell you, anything can happen, they may even sell fakes or mint 1/4oz or 1/10oz just for more profit.

That's why they don't like us chinese downunder. sad.gif

Ya, 1oz is limited. However, it is curious that 80-90% of mintage are allocated to overseas, but so far, we do not sell any large distributor selling 1oz silver. Even want to pre-order also not allowed.

But i saw an online dealer website in Taiwan issued an announcement today saying that the release date and price of 1oz haven't confirmed by European and US distributors. Once it is finalised, they will make announcement. That means, European and US distributors has not really started selling 1oz?

You can search ebay and find that there are only 2 places selling 1oz silver, Germany and Australia. Other places still not available ? Anyone can explain? Even US also hasn't released yet.

There is only possible reason, European and US distributors are holding stock. Anyone agrees with me ?
*
I suspect the china dealer are the one holding it, waiting for the chinese new year to release the sales at exorbitant price to their own country people, now the china chinese are filthy rich.

Hey, don't be too worried,

Aussie ship out the goods slowly, and their tracking number using the pos laju will not appear until the item reach malaysia and maybe even your house, then it will appear on the website. You must have patient.

Aussie don't like asian lah, especially we want things fast and we always hurry them, but we give them a lot of business, so they very upset but still must do business with us.

So give them about 3 weeks, they are using the cheap post so it will take some time to appear.

wait few more months, you will get one cheaper. I just realised it is a hype after i bough, sienz
*
Yeah, I think so too.

Those who want the 1oz coin FAST, you must be willing to pay for it lah, don't keep looking for cheap offer sold by unknown people, but if you are not willing to pay premium for the 1oz dragon, then like SGSKY say, wait for a few month when the supply reached the US and UK, then they release for sale, and you an get it at low premium than now lah.

So cool it... wait a while, then look for it again. Else be prepared to use more money to buy o.k? smile.gif

Hi mingophoria,

I suggest that you try to get the 1oz dragon. if not, then forget about the dragon, go for the normal silver bar or coin, if your intention is to get into silver. Any other size of the dragon are not really worth the headache over.
