I'm planning to buy Toshiba T110 SU2700 notebook, is this a good quality model??

I am not gonna play hi end games with this notebook... just need ultra portability (12 inch), long battery life (that's y i don't buy HP DV2), bit more powerful than netbook (that's y not buying even HP Mini 311), not hard for my eyes like 10 inch netbooks.... and must be lightweight like lesser than 1.6kg....

Any quality issues with this model?? thanks!!

Hi PF TJ,

How much you bought for the toshiba qosmio f60?? Which shop u deal with??
And any free gift??
I am gonna to get this soon.
Another question, have to test the HDMI port at any LCD or Plasma TV??

Thanks

Hi bro ^____^
I bought my Qosmio F60 from a Cycom at lowyat plaza. Bought it at RM4690 with no free gifts because this laptop need to order one, available stocks highly unlikely. Hikari85 offered RM 4640 (excluding postage fee) if you don't mind buying via postage ^____^ But the prices was around 1 month ago, so the price may be slightly different now rclxub.gif
Well, I'm a student currently living outside, so there's no LCD/ Plasma TV for me to try the HDMI T____T Sorry rclxub.gif
Will try it when I go home ^^

Qosmio F60 is a rather good choice though if you have the budget and emphasize on design, speakers, reliability and the Qosmio brand laugh.gif
Do take note that local warranty extension to 3 years for Qosmio laptops = RM639 o instead of the usual RM439. cry.gif

You can refer to this very very detailed review on the Toshiba T110 by the famous NotebookCheck:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Toshib...ok.25917.0.html

Quality- wise, there shouldn't be much problems ^^ Planning of introducing my sis to maybe get the T130 also nod.gif
Well, if you tend to stick strictly to the stated requirements, the T110 would fit properly laugh.gif
If U don't mind larger and relatively heavier laptops of that sort, there are other models from ASUS and ACER to consider as well icon_rolleyes.gif

Just drop by Low Yat plaza, few shops is out of stock for this Qosmio F60 model, Even for the branch itself. But they said should be re-stock during PC Fair. Now they selling 4799 or 4999, depend which shop.

Yes, as I've said, these aren't normal laptops and most shop can't afford to simply buy and display them since they are quite pricy and not that popular. There's only 1 shop which is displaying the i3 version of the F60 when I went to lowyat plaza.. I think it would be best to buy/ order while the RM200 rebate is still on ^_____^
Did you get to see the real thing? If yes, what do you think about it? keke! drool.gif

Added on March 27, 2010, 11:17 amBy the way, does anyone here knows how to switch from Windows 7 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit? Both systems are already in the laptop itself.... Not quite sure how to do it even though the shop owner did gave me some tips.... thanks! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Finally I got mine, I fall in love with it by first sight, very sexy and elegant, but a bit pricey for my standard. No regret so far.
Yes, LY retailer already run out of stock, and they told me it is a good laptop with good spec and price. Even dell laptop with such spec already more than 5k.

For your Windows 7 32 bit change to 64 bit, I think you need to re-install your windows again. May be you can share more if you have any handy tips.

BTW, apart from standard stuff like battery, charger cable , sling bag and manual, is there any other things like recovery disk or others stuff bundle with it??

hope you can share more and discuss any issues pertaining this laptop.

OMG! Congratulations on your new Qosmio F60 rclxms.gif rclxms.gif How did you get the laptop so fast? A friend of mine is still waiting for his Qosmio wo.... You pro! laugh.gif

Ya, I would say that the Qosmio is really sexy haha drool.gif
Not really, DELL Studio XPS 16 is priced at RM4,599 and RM 4,999 with greater processor and GC hehe~ But Qosmio does have other surprises up its sleeve (if it has one haha)

Not really, I've asked the shop people to show me the way to change from Windows 32-bit to 64- bit vice versa. It involves holding the "0" button along with the power button while the laptop is off until the Qosmio screen appears. And that onwards I'm not so sure already. It seems need to choose the 32-bit OS 1st then restart the whole procedure again and choose the 64-bit.... Kind of confusing rite>? which is why I don't really dare try it since the shop people say U will risk loosing all your saved stuffs T_____T I plan to switch it after I graduate in 1 months time, then there's nothing to lose laugh.gif

U need to recover all your system data via the program "Recovery Media Creator" which will backup all your system files into 4 DVD+R. Note "+" in DVD+R. icon_rolleyes.gif

LOL, there's a piece of cloth for you to rub off all the nasty fingerprints on the sexy body of your Qosmio ^^ and a cloth to cover the whole lid and screen icon_rolleyes.gif

U mean the dark grey color of cloth right?? I think I left it at the retailer shop. but the other little cloth, yes I have it. To find this sexy babe, I ask lot of shops, some said sold out, some said it is a new laptop, not yet launch, need to wait until PC Fair and etc. Finally I found this shop where they have one. Am I lucky huh??
OR NOT?? After purchase it one of the salesman from LowYat Ground floor (Toshiba shop) told me they may offer a free 500GB portable hard drive upon purchasing this model, Its worth RM349, if not mistaken, I nearly pengsan.

for LCD screen, it stated (16:9) it is mean that higher resolution is 1600 x 900 pixels , but mine one the max can go is 1300 x 600 something, it is same like yours??

"Qosmio does have other surprises up its sleeve (if it has one haha)" do u mean harman Kardon speaker??

16:9 means the ratio, not resolution...
it can be either 1366x768, 1600x900, 1920x1080...

Man you sure are lucky, I need to pre-order my Qosmio leh haha XD U bought the i3, or i5 variant? O____O Both are damn rare cry.gif
Apala, what "not yet launch need to wait until PC Fair" hahaha, that statement sounded like we bought our Qosmio through illegal means laugh.gif
Yaya, the one at Lowyat Groundfloor is the i3 variant right? Its been there for some time, even have my fingerprints on it hahaha whistling.gif The prices that shop offers also not bad.... If we are referring to the same shop, I would say that is the best shop to go take a look at laptops from all brands since they have it all, and not just low and mid-entry level laptops notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Do take note that local warranty extension up to 3 years for Qosmio laptops is RM639 doh.gif

Have you tried the harman kardon speakers? Its damn unbelievable, way, way better than the ones in my previous Satellite M100 laugh.gif
Well, there's this blu- ray rewritable which will come in handy.... eventually~ And there's the smartface technology which is rather smart indeed but not really effective if you ask me hahaha biggrin.gif and I just love the resolution+ and eco- utility.
Battery life is so- so though, 2 hours only normal usage with Eco utility on T____T

My one is Core i5, and this is my 1st laptop after using desktop for so many years. After comparing few brands in market and advice by few of my IT friends, finally I choose this model.

The battery is a let down point so far, unless upgrade to 9 cells battery may be can last for 2.5 hours or more?? Just guessing.

I think the shop I went is only sell Toshiba brand, If not mistaken beside Sony shop.

Still exploring it, hope that I will love it more and more

Oh, that's good... The i5 variant is much better than the i3 and luckily you din't get the display unit haha laugh.gif
Good choice I have to say, smart IT friends you have there XD

Well, Toshiba won't give you much problems la as long as you take good care of it ^^ Some more this is Qosmio, Toshiba's best thumbup.gif
I don't think we can upgrade the battery to 9-cells though. It will significantly increase the weight of the F60 and thus making it even less portable.
Well, we shouldn't expect too much from a 15.6' laptop la haha, its not built for battery life anyway laugh.gif

Hehe, I'm sure you will love it more and more despite some of its setbacks i.e. the blu-ray drive is not very solid compared to other portions of the laptop.
The laptop will definitely still look brand new even after years of usage thanks to its highly glossy and stylish looks, but at the expense of having to clean it frequently laugh.gif laugh.gif

Hmmm, personally I'm not using but I've used one before... Well, its like how a netbook should be lor hahaha XD Its more user friendly comparing to other rivals... laugh.gif
Battery life of 8hours+ is considered not bad also ^^
Not sure about the 3G card though; there are quite a lot of reviews concerning this particular model of netbook but not much actually describes the HSPA 3.5G slot...

hahaha, no need jealous, if u read my older post, I was told toshiba may having good offer for coming PC Fair. I believe they will carry more units during PC fair..go for it then.
I do agree with u that small town very hard to look for new launching stuff, but for this model, I went to LY and Digital Mall, search up and down, some inexperience promoters give me a weired look when I ask them about this model...But worth and satisfy.

Hi PF, do own the Toshiba portable harddrive with features encrytion, worth to buy??

Hmmm, can't wait to participate in this year's PC Fair, it'll be fun laugh.gif
Ya, agree with you, this laptop is quite rare rclxub.gif Even the guys in Teledynamics don't really know what model it is when I extend my warranty over there haha tongue.gif

Well, nowadays, almost all the new laptops out there uses harddisk by Toshiba. My old Toshiba had no harddisk problems at all after 3 years usage ^^
Toshiba's harddrive should be good, but its comparatively more costly than its counterparts.. If you are on budget, then perhaps can consider external harddisk from Western Digital or Seagate icon_rolleyes.gif

Guys take a good look at the bottom part of the Qosmio F60, you would actually see that there are LOADS of heat sinks ar.... That's real great, which explains why its so cool even while gaming rclxms.gif
But do note that based on my previous experience, ants like to climb in and out of these holes mad.gif
Eguy, remember to register for the international warranty here: http://pc.toshiba-asia.com/portal/public/u...rentTab=service
There's a lucky draw at the moment, so do hurry haha laugh.gif laugh.gif
