Called Teledynamics this afternoon, they said they are lacking the HDD stock for my model, and estimated the new HDD would be arrived on next week, and they will straight away replace a new HDD for me, but I've a doubt here, does the new HDD has pre-installed with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Toshiba Auto Recovery System and is it upgradeable to Windows 7 Home Premium? My original laptop is pre-installed with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Toshiba Auto Recovery System and it's upgradeable to Windows 7 Home Premium.

I wonder if you guys are aware of this?

http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=1114

Toshiba M500-s433 with i5 core at RM3499, all I got from Lowyat Plaza and LYN garage sales are those with P7450, P8700 and etc. So this is something new.

Is this laptop better than M500-s430? Was looking at M500-s430, but now I just saw this new laptop. Any advice?

Yup, only movie...

I think there are very fine lines in desktop and gaming but have to look very near to notice it, but for movie can notice it easily.

I bought my M500 during the last PC fair, but I still haven't got the extra one year warranty provided in the brochure.

When I asked the shop, they said it is provided by Teledynamics, not by them. So, they never wrote in on the receipt.

I would like to ask fellow Toshiba members, what should I do?

Before this had a Toshiba member submit his receipt to Teledynamics and they update the warranty according to the receipt's warranty printed, so you should request the shop to issue you another receipt with 2 years printed.

extended warranty matter. i would agree that it is really useful to get an official receipt indicating clearly the warranty period. i think a hard copy confirmation would be better that the upgrade on toshiba website. without it, you may run into risk of dispute. 3 years warranty was printed on my receipt.

As long as it's under Toshiba, it's the same, but I cannot guarantee that there is no shop would quote you more than the price from Toshiba, you should check with Toshiba before really purchasing the international extended warranty.

link to win 7 back-up - http://www.intowindows.com/using-windows-7...ge-backup-tool/

would this method solve our problem of needing to reinstall vista before doing the win 7 upgrade (for some of us with the win 7 upgrade version)?

Sounds work, should really pay a try on the next time system recovery. Why don't you try it?

If the extended warranty is recorded on the toshiba site it would be valid as well. Nevertheless with a hard copy it wouldn't hurt
