Is it available here? Looks very nice .
Yeah, so far I know there is Qosmio X500-D830 at around RM7199, here the specs

Intel Core i7-720QM Processor 1.6Ghz Turbo Boost up to 2.8Ghz
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
4GB DDR3 SDRAM
GeForce GTS-250M
640GB

I think you shouldn't compare the price with oversea, those laptop's price from oversea haven't included with custom taxes.

For all your Warranty concern, I've double confirmed with Toshiba and Teledynamics, they said they are waiting the list of customer who purchased their laptop during PCFAIR from the authorized dealer. Once they got the list from reseller, they would update the warranty based on the list.

just got my L510-S4314 today rclxm9.gif

questions..

1)is it OK if we create recovery dics before updating windows?all in factory setting. smile.gif

2)i've read somewhere that we need to create partition for os.what is that? icon_question.gif is it like normal partitoning process?
*
1) It's good to create your recovery disc during the 1st time of log on to windows.
2)It's up to you whether you want to create partition or not, creating partition is good for you to backup your data when you wanna format your laptop. For me, I don't create any partition since I have an external harddisk, so my data will be saved on there.

Added on December 12, 2009, 10:39 pmDo you guy has figured out on how to transfer my a file from my mobile phone through Toshiba Bluetooth, last time for my HP laptop, it used to be so easy to access for copy and paste purposes.

I'm owning a Toshiba L510-S438 Laptop, and has just upgraded my Windows from Vista to 7 through the Toshiba upgrade media kit, I'm having a doubt here, if let say I wanna recover my system back to original Windows 7 factory setting with all application and drivers installed, what should I do? Can I use F8 key recovery system to recover my system back to Windows 7 or it's only able to recover back to my Windows Vista version?

more question blush.gif

1)i choose 32bit of win7 instead of 64bit.i am confused if the recovery disc i've created is in 32bit or both?  hmm.gif

2)where is recovery partition?i am scared if i accidently delete it blush.gif
*
The partition is hidden, so don't worry about it. You should created 32bit since you have chosen 32bit for your windows.

zhuan97, thank for your sharing...will confirm with Toshiba tomorrow, if there is no other way to recover my system other than format myself and install the driver myself, then I would do a backup and recovery using Paragon Backup & Recovery, just did a research about this software, found out it's easy to do so.

Just contact Talk-2-Toshiba Technical Assistant, for L510-S438 model, there is only one way to recover your windows back to Windows 7 Home Premium with drivers and toshiba applcation installed is to recover your system using 0 key during boot and recover back to windows vista and perform again the Windows 7 Upgrade by the Upgrade Media Kit DVD.

do not know if the extended warranty will ever appear on the toshiba website.  i spoke to teledynamics this morning and was told that it as it is a local warranty, it will not appear on our screen although they confirm that it is teledynamics 2 years extended warranty.  i was told to fax a copy of the receipt to teledynamics.  of course i am not happy with their response.  well, it is most important that we check our receipt to ensure that the 2 years extended warranty is clearly stated.

reevephon, it is better that you get your receipt in proper order to reflect the extended warranty.

Added on December 14, 2009, 10:58 amreevephon, are u saying that it is no point doing Paragon Backup & Recovery? it was about to follow your foot step of doing the paragon...stuff.

Im just telling what the Toshiba Technical Assistant told me this morning regarding the Windows 7 Recovery.

Added on December 14, 2009, 1:58 pmRegarding the extended warranty, these are what I received from Teledynamics Assistant,

"Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for purchasing a new Toshiba laptop.

For the free 2 years warranty extension, we are waiting for all the dealers/resellers to compile and send us the list of units sold after PCFair has ended. Once we get this list, we will verify and then submit to Toshiba for updating.

Please be assured that your laptop is confirmed to be eligible for the free 2 years warranty extension promotion. Please check again at the website in approximately 4-6 weeks time.

Please do not hesitate to contact me further should you have any enquiries.

Thank You."

reevephon, extended warranty matter - is good that they have issued you a written reply.   the guy at teledynamics whom i spoke to is Dennis (accordingly from pc warranty section)....i feel he is not correct.  i believe they eventually update the extended warranty on their website.
*
So. there is nothing we can do other than waiting Toshiba receive the list of units sold during PCFAIR, and update the extended warranty for us.
It's great that you are able to reach your phone to Teledynamics, last week I've tried about 10 minutes, but it's still keep saying "Our Technical Assistant is currently busy"
Some more, I don't think the guy asked you to fax or send them your receipt in order to extend the warranty for you is the proper way, as there are quite a lot of customers who bought Toshiba laptop during PCFAIR III, if Teledynamics is using this way to extend the warranty for the PCFAIR promotion, I bet they would receive tons of e-mail or fax for just warranty extension, furthermore, how do they determine whether the laptop is bought from PCFAIR's authorized reseller? I think the best way is the reseller send them a list of units sold during PCFAIR with serial number for extend the warranty as this is the way that is being used by Teledynamics for updating the warranty extension.

0 key? or F8 key?

Well, my guess is correct, as the recovery partition will still contain only Vista files.

If you plan to skip the recovery & do clean install of Win7, please make sure you copy out the Toshiba Drivers & Applications folders, as you will need some of them for your Win7 and cannot be found at the links below.

You may find the Win7 drivers & applications here (32-bit/64-bit):

0 key easier according to Toshiba Assistant, I've talked to them and requested them to differentiate the 0 key and F8 key for me, they said both would works for system recovery, but 0 key is easier with fewer steps whereas F8 need more steps for you to do system recovery. Toshiba recommend 0 key for doing system recovery with all Toshiba application and drivers installed.

Also, any user with any feedback/review of this unit?
Thanks.

Yeah, it's RM3299 with 2 years Warranty, since it's new set, so I don't think there is any review on this laptop, try to google.

wan to ask, what's the point to create Recovery Media? is it for after i format my laptop then insert the 4discs to re-install windows7 and drivers just like default settings from factory?
*
No, once you've recovered your system, all the applications and drivers will be installed, the Recovery Disc is designed in case that the hidden partition spoil, so there would be an alternative way to recover your system.

ATTENTION: GUYS Toshiba has updated the Extension Warranty for those who bought their laptop during FAIR, do check yours.
