simply .. i wanna see how it looks like inside ... blush.gif

for light leakage, actually there's sponge type seperator between LCD and the touch screen cover, the RED mark is the square full seperator, most device have problem at the section which i marked yellow, means the seperator got thinned, so the light beam sneaks out from inside smile.gif

tats all .. u can get it fixed by sending to NCC / where u bought the device and ask them replace the seperator ..

sending in ur nokia5800 to NCC for small problems is not worth especially to replace the so-called seperator... whistling.gif

i not sure about light leakage for nokia 5800 , but for pc LCD , it is not as simple as this 1, like replace the seperator

i think its not a small problem, since .. ure not going to offer RM1k for a defect device arent u? (for noobies) .. as for me i managed to fix it myself since i know wat went wrong, i suppose there are many N5800XM whom still struggling for such matters ..

Cool, means that the longer we use it the seperator will get thinner at the part which you marked it yellow rite?
Or is the problem solved forever after sending it to NSS? Normally i'll go for AP sets, just this time i'm gonna get Zitron for 5800 cause there's alot of problem with the phone. If we sent it to replace the seperator means no more warranty left by NSS? Sorry for asking such questions. =/

no, its considered manufacturing defect, i could see the seperator actually sponge type and its kind of "pressed" .. i think it could be accidentally press by those whom fix the phone case.

Most N5800XM have light leak, the chances are 40% u get the good ones, and some first batches had earpiece problem too, and rear case loosen, u can see by shaking the phone, with battery intact ..

Ahh ic, means that before i'm puchasing my very first tube I should check it on the spot whether there's light leakage? If there is I should immediately ask for exchange right? I think i'm getting it from e_trade_pj hopes that the phone is in good condition ;P. Getting a pair of BH-503 together and see how well is the music.

Haha yeah i'm changing it for sure, e_trade_pj is selling it for RM290. If i'm getting the full set 5800 with BH-503 will cost me RM1300nett.
Not sure whether I'm getting basic or full set 5800, is the basic set problem free? Since it's the 2nd batch product right is there any earpieace problem? smile.gif

Guess i'll have to check it on the spot, ways to check whether the set comes with earpieace problem is just by pressing on the earpiece area while making phone calls right? If the sound is stable means it's free from the Ear Piece problem?

My simple guide ..

1. Unbox the device
2. Check for original stickers and do a checklist on the device package
3. Check SD card specification class
4. Insert SIM card (to test) + Insert battery (turn on) .. shake the phone (to test the battery loose)
5. Check light leakage, below the front camera
6. Snap a dark / black surface and check for white dots (LCD dead pixel check)
7. Make test call, ask a friend to answer / speak test
8. Check the firmware and other fone details via *#0000#
9. Check phone IMEI matches the box *#06#
10. Loudspeaker test
11. Check other features included in the phone (optional)

.. if you satisfied with the Zitron / AVAXX @ Original Nokia 5800XM then goto step number 12

12. Pay your device amount, get a dealer stamp on warranty card .. go home safely icon_rolleyes.gif
13. Come to this thread and rape you device .. laugh.gif

Answer my queries carefully ..

1. Have set back to online mode?
2. Have you checked the homescreen settings on "shortcut" mode, not basic (u wont get shortcuts in this mode)?
3. You updated the new OVI contacts? (If so, remove and restart ure device, your fonebook will come back alive)
