Oh, and no Astro Beyond HD is a put-off too.

Nice place, bad service offerings.

Hi All,

I currently live in midfields, and i really think that only can use yes 4g to internet is really sucks. I use YES, and it really is fast but still the quota is very very limited, some more to add more quota is really expensive. Is there any way we can do complaint to management or something to ask them to enable unifi or maxis fiber?

Lets do together so maybe we can get unifi. anyone?

the basic infrastructure for line is not there..so there is no hope...one suck big time YTL mad.gif

Yeah i agree... bad services offering... last yr gov has issued 8 4g licenses to telco provider... which means u got more choices than just yes 4g...

Yeah, no unifi / maxis fibre is a real put-off to be honest - i am one of those.

many would not consider to buy / rent this place due to this coz thinking of the restrictions to a basic need like internet access.

I was hesitated to move in because of this too... alternative is Maxis wireless which offer higher quota at about the same price. You'll get 48GB albeit 36GB is only from 2am to 8am.

And actually there's ethernet port for the intercom phone, anyway to make use of that if the management allowed? Fibre to Ethernet maybe? Or even hold a petition and get buy-ins from the interested residents then approach ISP (Maxis or TM) and perhaps if there are enough subscribers they might actually lay a cable to the premise. Really gotta bring this up in the next JMB meeting.

Dont think YTL would readily allow other providers to place their cables, infra.

If unifi is in, obviously maxis fibre wud be as well, which means more no's to YES 4G.

As for maxis wireless bb, i tried at a frens place in MF the other day, but his modem is the most basic range, i tink 3.2mbps max capability i tink, but yet can achieve 0.5 - 1mbps, tho not so stable.

suppose if opt for the portafi modem which capable of reaching 21mbps (according to Maxis numbers), hence we are looking at 6 - 7 times of 0.5 - 1mbps, so perhaps thats nt bad, ie. min 3 - 6 mbps.

but dunno whether it is tat good la coz havent tried the newer maxis modems range.

and oh, gonna be a zombie la if wanna utilize the off-peak of 36gb quota, or maybe download movies at that time, leave bittorrent on overnight, haha.

im rather concerned on the internet coz scared cannot play enuff dota 2 on weekends, hahaha.

Hi kojack18,

To answer your question as below from my source,

1) Currently no Astro Beyond HD signal, pending updates from Astro coverage.
2) Not for others service provider, YES 4G is the only one at this moment, still consider strong signal since YTL support YES 4G at this area.

Hope can resolve your enquiry.
Cheers
Ryan

Approval has been given to upgrade the current infrastructure to support Astro Beyond HD. This service should be available to the residents by March 2013.

Ya sadly, only YES 4G is available at the moment for Internet. shakehead.gif

finally one weaknesses down but strongly felt that b roadband issue cannot b solved...solving the prob will be very expensive coz we need to do the infrastructure and YTL r not goin to foot the bill....end up, we dig into our own JMB's reserve ( dun think enough also)

wow, that's really good news, finally MF dwellers can enjoy HD i/o oldskool SD thumbup.gif

as for internet, really think maxis wud be better, i mean better quota and i tink reasonable coverage + discount for postpaid cust.

Better still for those if already hav ur own mifi modem (mifi 42mbps type), hehe, planning to get 1 directly from huawei, so no contract, just 100/myr upfront payment but rebate 10/myr for 12mths (120/myr total rebate).

haha.

Hi dude,

Please elaborate on your claim?

From a tenant's perspective, where can u get sub 1.6k place with decent interior + landscape + facilities?

Plus, it is somewhat close to the city / midvalley.
