Yeah, no unifi / maxis fibre is a real put-off to be honest - i am one of those.

many would not consider to buy / rent this place due to this coz thinking of the restrictions to a basic need like internet access.
*
I was hesitated to move in because of this too... alternative is Maxis wireless which offer higher quota at about the same price. You'll get 48GB albeit 36GB is only from 2am to 8am.

And actually there's ethernet port for the intercom phone, anyway to make use of that if the management allowed? Fibre to Ethernet maybe? Or even hold a petition and get buy-ins from the interested residents then approach ISP (Maxis or TM) and perhaps if there are enough subscribers they might actually lay a cable to the premise. Really gotta bring this up in the next JMB meeting.

finally one weaknesses down but strongly felt that b roadband issue cannot b solved...solving the prob will be very expensive coz we need to do the infrastructure and YTL r not goin to foot the bill....end up, we dig into our own JMB's reserve ( dun think enough also)
*
Just my two cents.

I believe if we have enough potential subscribers in that three blocks, ISP wouldn't mind covering the infrastructure as the area is already fiber (TM Unifi) ready, i mean the older shop houses next to MF.

I knew an apartment in Puchong where Maxis rented a small room in that apartment to place their equipment just to provide Internet service to the residents. As for wiring from the equipment room to the units, they just pull in from elevator core to the door albeit it's visible and not a very pretty sight.

Thanks for the note. Will be good if any owner from Block A can share the outcome of the session.

So far my experience with the management is good, far more better than where i'm staying now.
The challenges are more on the developer and contractor where telephone line & Astro HD antenna should be built in and the finishing can be far more better.
*
I had a chat with the management before, they said if there's an ISP willing to invest in the infrastructure i.e. wiring up the building then there is a possibility having fibre internet in MF. I've also been in touch with Maxis Home service department however they said they have no plans to add infrastructure for this condominium and the same goes for Time Broadband but they will KIV this request.

As for the Astro HD, they are pushing to get it thru, the reason has something to do with the low occupancy rate for Block B and C.

On top of the top of the grille, get yourself a unit of two of the wireless surveillance cameras i.e. Dlink or etc, configure motion capture with email notification and install the monitoring app on your phone. Install it at the entrance with the power socket provided. You can also install another unit at the yard area, at least you will get notification whenever movement is detected, could be a little annoying at times but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I'm going to install my camera asap.

Not sure how true is this, I heard from a contractor saying that the shoplots in midfields square do not come with proper grease trap and drainage system hence no F&B outlets are allowed to operate there hence the slow take up rates, if that's true then it's really bad news for the residents there.

Oh no! I was expecting some 24hours McD, KFC, Papparich, Asiacafe and my most favorite 24hrs oldtown kopitiam there! Those FnB at kuchai lama nearby quite disappointing, closed early before midnite..and the oldtown ter too small n not cozy enough..

bad news bad news...I thought only mouse trap is necessary for FnB outlets..

According to him, it was mentioned in the S&P as well. I guess the only way to confirm this is to ask the owners.

I thought I saw F&B in the brochures! The owners must be pissed right now.

I get the number from the notices board, then i has spoken to their person in-charge.
If you still don't astro package pasang, the installation fee is 180, but if you already had it and need to add HD wire to the unit. it cost about 280.  sad.gif

I am no sure whether it is a promotion during the road show that mentioned in the notice.

That is one hell of a blood sucking charges!

Anyone using invertor air con using the same original piping?

Daikin inverter model will work with original piping.

just wonder how unifi do it? pull the cable up every floor? the coordination with the TM n owners to hack the wall n pull the cable i think takes forever

I think they can make use of the same conduit for the intercom phone, there's already a UTP cable in there, they can run it thru the elevator core down to the security room and make the security room into a fiber demarcation room.

If the above to too difficult, I won't mind to disconnect the intercom phone and turn that UTP into into a VDSL endpoint.

Not sure how to start this but here goes...

Anyone here contracted TAT Construction (that used have a showroom in B1-1-6) for renovation in MF? I would like to share my predicament here.

I've engaged Mr. Oh (from TAT Construction) to renovate a unit in MF that belongs to a relative of mine, signed up for a package and paid a 40% down payment on the very same day (4-Nov-2013) for the work which he said will be completed by month end.

Big mistake! Till the end of Dec, only lights were installed, calls made to him were not answered, no reply on messages either. Calls after calls, and many massages later, he replied by giving excuses and of course empty promises then gone quiet after that (although he's still very much active in Whatsapp...)

Came to my senses and suspecting something amiss, I went to check on the addresses on both of the quotation and receipt issued to me earlier, guess what? There is no existence of TAT construction at both locations.

I seriously think he had absconded with the money.

I went to the MF management and found out more that I may not be the only victim here. If anyone of you reading this is in the same boat, perhaps we could discuss this privately for solutions going forward.

I've visited TMpoint Taman Desa to enquire on Unifi installation but was turned down upon mentioning "Midfields". I was then made understand that Unifi is blocked from entering MF, despite I noticed a few @unifi wireless connections when I turned on wifi. Apparently there are even some residents who managed install Unifi but are forced to terminate their subscription.

I support on signing up the petition for Unifi at Midfields!

The unifi SSIDs that you detected in MF are from those taman sungai besi flats opposite.

I can totally feel your pain. I used TAT construction (Mr Oh) for my unit too. He promised to get it done within one and half months but I ended up waited for 5 months. Worse still, I have to help out the worker to install some of the stuff, cleaned up the unit myself!

Initially, he installed plaster ceiling rather fast, after that, everything gone pear shape. NOONE work in my unit for 3 weeks, I called and complaint then he sent someone to do some touch up works, and after that, same thing happened over and over again. Fake postponed deadline for don't know 6-8 times. Excuses like material hasn't arrived, this delay that delay.... I'm a very patience person and this guy (Mr Oh) really pissed me off badly. He started to ignore my calls, not reply messages etc. My gut feeling is, he kept looking for projects, promised fake deadlines and handle it later. I almost wanted to sue him!

My advice is, whatever thing you want him to do, or stuff such as colour, socket location, quatz stone etc, all should have a written copy as evidence in case he mess your stuff up (HE WILL MESS IT UP) and you will have proof to argue with him. He got many of my stuff wrong. I was being kind and let go some of the mistakes because I really need to move in asap. But now I know I shouldn't have done it. So, don't repeat my mistake. If something is wrong, not based on your spec, stand strong and ask him to correct it! Don't pay the money until he finished what had listed in the timeframe. Money is the only thing you have.

I know he has a partner named Danny (long hair, tall, indian race). In the past few days I saw him sitting in laundry shop (behind gym room) reception a few times. You might want to go there and ask him, they are from the same company.

All the best for you.
*
Thanks for the feedback. I'll take note.

Well, he asked for one month extension and I gave him that or refund (which of course will take longer... who knows how long based on his reputations)

Will see how it goes, still damn pissed off with him!
