i was hoping for 80-100 lumens general level, on the PC series
5-15 lumens seems too low for general usage.
if I read it correctly, the PC series have 5 output levels. and what's quoted is the min and max (to save space?), I guess possibly other levels in between... tongue.gif

QUOTE(igis @ Jan 25 2010, 03:26 PM)
But do they have alot of options like what I wanted in Ace hardware?
igis, Tropical Equpiment (local dealer for SureFire you see display at selected ACE outlet) is running a season SureFire promotion now (ending 31st Jan 2010), discount of up to ~RM100-RM200 for selected model. But the discounted price is still higher than getting from ebay or cpfmp. sad.gif
The E2DL that you are interested is going for RM629 (discounted) now, which is still ~RM120 more expensive than what you can get online.
Frankly, local SureFire you see display in Ace Hardware do not have a lot of options. There are a lot of additional accessories that you cannot get (e.g. diffusers, tail-cap, etc.)
If options are what you are looking for, pay a visit to GadgetWorld2U at Subang Square and you will be presented with options. Compare those with SureFire and decides. biggrin.gif

Eee, I've stopped using Evereadys for a long time since my last 2 AA incan flashlight. Maybe you should just toss it and forget abt it. Or is it part of your battery test?  sweat.gif
it's been sitting in one of my drawer for more than 12 months. tongue.gif

Added on January 26, 2010, 12:12 amLadies and Gentlemen,

Though this has been in the US market under a different name and different model for some time (iirc, 2007, with motion activation), I only came to know about this very recently... OSRAM Cabinet LED using OSRAM Golden Dragon 1W LED, powered by 3 x AA, rated 35 lumens, retail at RM 32.90, available at Home-Fix with 20% discount now.

you turn on the light by soft pressing on the one of the three curvy rubber electronic switch, and turning off the same way. It has a 10 minutes auto-off feature.

The base and battery compartment

the cover shown on the right has a fairly strong magnet to stick itself to metal. thumbup.gif

Worthy of some beam shots? ... ... you bet...

The beam, top is Cabinet LED (Golden Dragon), bottom is Preon on med (rated 22 lumens OTF, Cree XP-G R5).

I'm really very impressed with the brightness and colour rendition. Its rating of 35 lumens is in fact brighter than some which rated at 40-50 lumens. Colour rendition... look at the picture, it speaks for itself. wub.gif none of my current LED flashlights collection can match the accuracy in colour reproduction of this little wonder. wub.gif

Hey rookiedaddy, your diffuser can't fit the TK40 huh.. looks like it can, darn
nope, it can't. sad.gif

QUOTE(polkiuj @ Jan 26 2010, 10:18 AM)
I'm so gonna get one. Haha! Or more. =D
Looks like it's not direct drive unless a really low bin is used. The 3 x AA batts looks like it's wired in series, thus giving ~3.6-4.5V. That should be more than enough to give maximum flux or at least a very high flux. 35lm seems to be really low so I guess it's going thru a circuit. What's the run time on these babies?
I'm so gonna give it the li ion treatment. Think it can handle 3 x 14500? =D
no idea on the run time, I can only confirm it turns off automatically after 10 minutes.
3 x 14500? haha... sweat.gif innocent.gif

refer to the 2nd picture, both E2DL seems to have Axxxxx serial number? can you measure the current draw of both at high using fresh batteries?
from what I gather around cpf, those A-series E2DL that draws >800mA seems to be the 150-200 lumens version, while newer B-series (200 lumens) drawing <800mA?

EDIT: my guess is maybe SF has done something to the efficiency of the circuit between the A and B serial number... hmm.gif

EDIT 2: hey guys, now you can download the SureFire 2010 catalog from here >>> http://www.surefire.com/surefire/content/f...010-lowres4.pdf

sigh!!! this is confusing... how do we tell the 80 lumens P60L from the newer 120 lumens version if both are refer to as P60L? shakehead.gif

remember this?

yup... they (M'sia office) are "willing" to exchange, but the standard procedure is either ... ... ...
option 1: bring it to their office at Jalan Imbi for an inspection and exchange
or
option 2: courier the battery pack to them for an inspection and exchange

first, the cost of battery pack: RM 6.90
now, cost of option 1: Taxi-fare: ~RM 20.00
and, cost of option 2: post-laju: ~RM 6.00

a lady from the "Regional" office has a better and frank answer... "it's not worth it"... and i think she is right!

Pretty bad business ethnic, what is the company name and address? Are they just distributor or reseller?
direct to the source... Eveready = Energizer...

You know, I bought a Lego set for my son's birthday last year, some parts are missing.  I didn't bother to go Jusco or the local distributor, I went to Lego web site and request a replacement part (missing from package), then they just ship me the lego brick. then, I found out it has another part missing, I file a same request, and they ship me the 2nd time also.
1st time was from Europe, it took 1-2 months, due to CNY. the second one is from US, in just 2 weeks, its arrived at my office.
You are one lucky dad... biggrin.gif
+1 to Lego. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(pseudoblue @ Feb 9 2010, 05:12 PM)
heh.. they should send you a new one instead, by submitting detailed photo, which you have and your credentials as a valid record.  hmm.gif
they didn't ask for any photos... just keep repeating it's a company policies... rclxub.gif and it's quite a tele-tour around their support maze...

Haha. It was the Energizer rechargaebles. They heated up after charging and started to lost capacity instantly. After it cools the the battery lost all it's charge.
hmm.gif this reminds me of some GP rechargeables (2500mAH) that I disposed of some time ago...

don't ask only for the batt replacement.....find any old flashlight which was damaged [ due to battery leakage, only if you can find one.... ] and claim it was damaged by their battery due to leakage....and demand for the compensation for both items
if the malaysia office can't solve it, bring this matter over to the US headquarters in St. Louis, MO.....shot them with emails...
haha... thanks bro... cheers.gif
I'm not pissed, just feeling sad and disappointed at the kind and level of services we get locally. sweat.gif

To share another story, while doing the battery discharge test (end of last year), I called the customer service of the P-brand battery to ask for technical specifications/data sheet that shows the testing method they use to support their claims of "the world's longest lasting alkaline battery" and that "set a Guinness World Record". The response I get is something along the line of "... some of these documents are confidential ... ... ... cannot be release ... ... ... need approval ... ... ... will get back ... ... ..." so I spent the good half of my morning digging and searching online and finally found some good references and the "confidential document" that shows the method used. Later that afternoon, I received her call back and before she could tell me anymore "confidential info", I told her that I found what I was looking for, and she in-turns ask me to tell her the URL of the document that I downloaded it from... ... ... doh.gif sweat.gif

Energizer L92 AAA is going for RM4.38 for a pack of 2 at Watson, used by date is 2022. Bought 5 packs at 1 Utama. rclxm9.gif
I think the price is good nation-wide coz the cashier help to do a price check and she confirms it's the correct price. Their L91 AA however is still at RM20++... doh.gif

@rookie: they didn't revised the new cheaper price??
some smaller Watson outlets are slow to update their tag/display/shelf price as they are sometimes shorthanded (as I was told a while ago). Their bigger outlets (like the one in 1U) will most likely have updated/latest price display. So if you think one store price is different from another, you can ask them to do a price check. I believe each of their store is equipped with some-sort of price checking hand-held device. smile.gif

hey pseudoblue, don't worry... there are no less than 50 Watsons store in Klang Valley alone. try this: http://www.watsons.com.my/web/my/storelocator

EDIT: btw, the OSRAM lantern manage to burn continuously for ~76 hours on a set of 4 fresh Panasonic Evolta batteries at 25% brightness... not bad... biggrin.gif
EDIT 2: but I still can't recommend it due to its build quality, unless it's discounted 50% laugh.gif
