QUOTE(old newspaper @ Dec 8 2009, 05:04 PM) what light is that ? haha... i think your D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50 will be no match to his new toy... it can B-U-R-N ... yea... literally... when couple with the correct lens... but if there is a D-Mini VX Super Ultra SST-90 High CRI, then that will be a whole different story... Out of reach at the moment for McGizmo...
current neutral white emitters offerings has yet to reach the CRI level of Nichia's. Only some rare quantity are floating around customs and modders. May finally give-up searching for complete flashlight and go for drop-in instead. |

QUOTE(strobelighter @ Dec 9 2009, 10:40 PM) Hi guys, I need views on these 3 options of flaslights that I am planning to buy soon. My options are : strobelighter, since you can get all three from GW2U, it may be better to pay them a visit and try them out yourself. I'm confident that GW2U will be able to guide you thru your evaluations.1. Tiablo TL1 with max 230 Lm 2. iTP Light SC2 Eluma with max 220 Lm 3. Eagletac P100C2 with 220 Lm So if any of you guys can guide me on which I should choose I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance ! your choice will depends on some selection criteria that you plan to use the light for: 1) Usage Indoor or Outdoor or both 2) Types of battery you plan to invest or already invested 3) Runtime vs Output 4) Pocketable vs holster carry vs BOB well, for me, it will be an easy pick, EagleTac P100C2 Neutral White!!! EDIT: but... ... ... I recommend to take a closer look at EagleTac T100C2 MKII Neutral White (OP/SMO). I still think it's one of the better performance/value flashlight to date, if not the best! Tint is warm (lean towards greenish), feels hefty, hot spot is well define and transit smoothly into spills, reverse clicky switch feels better than Preon Ti that I tested from polkiuj, 3 modes (Med, Low, High), anodizing is flawless on my unit, XP-E emitter is well centre sitting in lite OP reflector, thread feels smooth, can tail stand...

QUOTE(pseudoblue @ Dec 18 2009, 06:01 PM) Nice pictures there too, you always get things in Pairs huh.. lol haha... not always, me "kiasi" and "kiasu", so always tend to have a backup... and backup of the backup... EDIT: But seriously, these LF2XT does live-up to the "Most advance AAA EDC light" claim as far as I'm concern. This post has been edited by RookieDaddy: Dec 18 2009, 07:02 PM |

this is obviously not news... but just went to light-reviews.com to check out those Quark reviews: Quark 123² Tactical and Quark AA² Regular, and glad that i have similar runtime experience (compare to selfbuilt's reviews here: 4Sevens Quark Round-up Review, guess when you win some, you lose some).
I didn't pay much attention to the runtime for first 2 sets of batteries on my 123² and >10 charging cycles on AA², but now I know why I keep getting the feeling that the 123² just keep running and running, above and beyong the rated 1.8 hours (mine was ~20 minutes each run for 9 days), while the AA² just barely touches ~1 hour instead of the rated 1.3 hours (guess they could be using 2500/2700mAH setup). my Quark's food supply: feeding Quark 123² Tactical with 4Sevens' CR123A batteries, feeding Quark AA² Regular with Eneloop 2000 mAH LSD batteries This post has been edited by RookieDaddy: Dec 19 2009, 01:22 PM |

well explained. yup, for all things equal, the Lithium CR123A primaries may give approximately twice the performance... but it gets more complicated when taking into account other variables (Vf? temperature? cell resistance? etc...
hey, do post some pictures of the RRT-0 when you have it. especially the warm one |

Haha, that's a special run of LF2XT titanium with sapphire lens and Cree XP-G from Steve Ku.
I'm waiting for 'official' XP-G release from LiteFlux next year, hope the neutral white XP-G will be available in time to make it. This post has been edited by RookieDaddy: Dec 20 2009, 11:17 AM |
