Today i have a very sad news. My brindle cannot make it.He was ok yesterday, still eating like mad when i'm feeding him last nite. This morning, i saw him lying there and keep struggling for survival. He kept move his legs. I dunno what happen. I felt so horrible. I thought i can save him, but i can't. I saw a little white tear coming out from his eye. What is it? Can anybody tell me?

So sad to hear that...you must be really heart broken on their early departure. Yup..I know how painful you feel on watching your own pet struggling for survival until breathless.....it reminds me of my Harliquine.

White tear? Never experience that.....

Oh..how did it happen?

Broke whole 2 front upper teeth?  It will grow back, but probably takes months.  Feed more hay then.

I have no idea. usually she loves to eat pellet few days ago i notice she almost like licking the pellets...

open mouth.. saw.. then top part is broken..

there are 2 teeth on top. one whole teeth gone missing and other left half..

luckily bottom 2 is still intact. feeding hay + grind pellets.. she enjoy grind pellet alot.. the bowl is clean..

So sad to hear about that catherine.. but you did your best.. give yourself a pat ont he back smile.gif RIP T.T

Im presuming the white tear is just a discharge from the eyes, as GPs excrete a milky white liquid which lubricates their eyes and is used to help them clean their faces.

Try to get a mat that can pass their 'kacang' easily. IF too small ya cant go thru. My friend has this mini vacuum last time. Everyday she vacuum the poo >_< her cage is cleaner than mine LOL.

Ok, using new product from Japan named Marukan モルモット ディナー is very nice and fresh, mix with fruit, vitamin, 3 type of hay and veg, red bean, nut and many more, nice leh~~~

Do not feed your cavy any of the many commercial pellet mixes that contain seeds, dried fruit or colored cereals. These commercial treat foods are geared to look pleasing to us humans, but they are definitely not in the best health interests of your pet. Cavies are not seed or cereal eaters by nature and these types of junk foods are high in sugars and carbohydrates, which can lead to an overgrowth of bad bacteria.

The poo used to be able to go through, now so fat already, shit also fat laugh.gif . So everyday, i will sapu the shit. The reason we did this flooring is cos usually the pee is the cause of the messyness. Poo + pee = very sticky. Poo smells! Dried poos are okay nod.gif We tried a bigger gap one last time, but she had trouble walking due to the gaps (get stucked or imbalance), so we changed it back to the previous one.

Today I made a plastic netting frame for my zoo zone base.  Actually I don't really like to use zoo zone type of cage, but since my friend gave me 3 units, and I don't think I could be that lucky to sell off 3.  So I used two and intend to sell off the other one.

I have to create this sort of frame so that my piggies won't step or soak in pee or poo.  To buy the plastic frame for dogs type, cost very expensive may cost a total of RM50 to cover the base.  Therefore I  buy the plastic wiring conceal tube case, and use the glue gun to glue them and the netting. Only spent about RM10 to make.

After that I put another layer of toilet mat on top of this frame.  LOL!  I quite amazed with my own creativity! brows.gif

If you dont plan to introduce them all, put the male in another corner further away from the females. At least he wont hurt himself.. sweat.gif

i plan to introduce them.. but not so early.. as the female is jus 2 month + not safe to reproduce yet plus she hav a bit of mites on her fur so dont wanna mix yet..... but during dinner they saw each other.. wheeking none stop.. the female is surely on heat.. prompting my two male to go motorboating .. as i usually feed them on a chair.. i feed the male while my gal feed the female.. while this time ... they make contact.. the female even try to jump to the males' chair(feeding area.. i was like wahlau eh.. then my gal say let them check it out each other (bad bad idea) female keep spraying pee all over the place.. i notice it and immediately take her away... then the cage jumping happen tis morning bout 5.30 u guess.. i was sound asleep but my friend heard the ruckus made by my two male offender.. and wake me up.. they didn make it to the female cage but didn got far either.. jus hang around the female cage area and get spray with pee all over their fur by the female.. lucky nothing much happen ... take them back and close their cage top.. tonite will reinforce the top .. i know they r very miang d.. lol..

hey juztiny, wanna ask, can the GP walk on that comfortably? cos the size of the opening looks like its big enough for the poo too pass thru. so if they can walk on it, i might just adopt this in my cage. cos now the mixture of pee + poo on a flat undrained cage makes me wanna clean the cage everytime i see it. rclxub.gif

Need to put another layer of the toilet mat on it. Just plastic netting alone cannot support the weight of GP.

Added on March 2, 2010, 10:11 amThis morning 2 healthy babies were born. One male and one female. Breed unknown....not sure pure Sheltie or mixed. They look like Sheltie, but need to wait till 1 month later only can confirm. As I cannot remember who the father was, I had been switching the SOW till lost track.
