I think we are going to cycle down this time around. A lot more negative news in the market now than anticipated.
Let see if we can pull back to 10500 or S&P 1025 and if so, just buy some at that level.

Added on January 13, 2010, 11:48 pmAs for GOOG, It is a no win situation for them, therefore, they have to abandon the plan for now.

Their core ideals back at home office in conflict with their business plan in China.
If they need to succeed, they must play the Chinese chess, and align themselves with dictatorial China
perhaps under a different company name altogether. They have play with the evil dictator because
the freedom of expression and thoughts does not exist in China.

Same goes for any other companies that wish to play in China. For example: YHOO, they've been there and they knew it, and they regretted what they did but can't help it. China forced their hands. Can't escape the facist capitalist govt for now.

One has to be evil and control all information to play in China. nod.gif

Closing update:
Dow 10680.77 +53.51 +0.50%
Nasdaq 2307.90 +25.59 +1.12%
S&P 500 1145.68 +9.46 +0.83%

Whoa! This market isn't giving the bears any chance of a decent pullback yet. laugh.gif

Buy high, becomes bag holder. biggrin.gif

Anyway, it will start to pullback soon for people to jump it.
We got worse than expected retail data, worse than expected initial claims.. Oil going lower with better weather and higher inventory.
This gotta to pullback. Investors at this level will want to take some off for profits.

MGM has been too high. Too risky.

I will wait C to drop to 3.30 before stock in.
*
This market isn't pulling back to allow C to dip, infact it is going higher.
Gotta be patient there.

Just continue to ride up on your long stocks for now. nod.gif

DMC got magic, he went to the future and predict :

Closing Update
Dow 10610.55 +29.78 +0.28% (DMC's update ....)

Gosh..I wasn't even aware I teleported into future. LOL! laugh.gif
Damn. I could have shorted big time. tongue.gif

Anyway, I think we got a gift today if some of you wanted to get in during the pullback.
Look at the banks: JPM, C, BAC, WFC all are pulling back.

I guess I'm right on the ball on Energy. I would like to see Oil drops to 75 and then I'll go back into ERX.
We may need two more or days like this. tongue.gif Hopefully, ERX can re-test 40 or low 38 (maybe next week). rclxms.gif

Closing update (5:20am)
Dow 10609.65 -100.90 -0.94%
Nasdaq 2287.99 -28.75 -1.24%
S&P 500 1136.03 -12.43 -1.08%

Ahh nice.. a 3 digit pullback. Oh well. that's a start. laugh.gif

Hopefully, we 'll get more next Tuesday evening when the market resumes. Monday evening I'm off too.
My call center celebrating US MLK holiday as well.. tongue.gif

AA anyone?

Placing order x500 @ 15.55. Hope to get it. Anytime turn ugly, can HOLD .

Where is our taikor?

ERX? FUQI? TCK??
*
I'm playing the following and nipping XPP.

ERX - ready to buy some when Oil near $75/$76
FUQI - nothing for now, will watch Gold price.
TCK - holding a HUGE load, I need to lighten up when we get to 41.
TNA - holding small batch around $45.

XPP - bought a small batch last week, was hoping for more. Use FXI as gauge.
China is coming back - their govt won't fail their economy - they just want to cool it down.

Closing update:
Dow 10725.43 +115.78 +1.09%
Nasdaq 2320.40 +32.41 1.42%
S&P 500 1150.23 +14.20 +1.25%

For those who have been watching and praying for C to pullback so that you can get in,
you got it today at 3.30. If you missed it, sorry, try again next time. laugh.gif

wah this cramer is unbelievable ph34r.gif

In September 28, 2009, Cramer told subscribers to buy CIT. One month later the company went bankrupt.

In this speech, Cramer recommended 10 stocks and went on to say "I wouldn't own any other stocks in the year 2000". By 2009, all of the mentioned companies have either gone out of business, have been taken over by competitors or trade at fractions of their 2000 stock price.

etc etc

Market professionals consider Cramer one of the most reliable contrarian indicators in the business. thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  laugh.gif

thanks for the humor sulifeisgreat

At times, I watch Cramer show.. very funny.

Just trade against his recommendation the next day.
His followers buy the stock, you sell it high or short to make money. whistling.gif

Don't wait, just Q it. By the time you login, it may already happened. Good luck!
This pullback is another gift. Watching Oil/Energy, Small Caps and China.. rclxms.gif

Update:
Overnight, China market dropped 3%. That's like 3x ETF.
Now, Dow -180 points... S&P500 -18
To add the negative news, a Republican senator won the race in Massachusetts, therefore market
also wants sell the news! Crazy huh? tongue.gif

If they do split, I'll buy them. Berkshire shares are well sought after and they will go higher.

Anyway, for those of you who wants to play some cheaper mining stocks.
I'm looking at HL right now and buying some at this level.

HL is a much cheaper play for Gold and Silver mining.

Good luck!

Update: 2:40am

Dow 10603.15 -122.28 -1.14%

Look at that. Goldman Sachs earned almost $4.79 billion in revenue last quarter and for the full year 13.4 billion.

Can anyone name any Malaysian banks that can beat that revenue?
Perhaps even the combine of all of them? biggrin.gif

hi
was interested in trade apple stock 2 yrs back before iphone 3gs made the stock go up wildly. now with islate its happening all over again. i missed the boat twice due to dont know how to open account and trade US stocks in time.
any quick recommendations, also is there any US tax for profits etc?
*
Just go to any of your fav. online broker used by many here and check 'em out one by one, which ever ones fits your needs.
I have TD Ameritrade, E-Trade and ScottTrade. I like TD-Ameritrade the best.

No tax for Capital Gains for Foreigners but hefty tax for Dividends payment.
Just don't go for Dividends paying stocks but re-investment dividends are ok.
