This is depends on u lo, if u are newbie like me, maybe i will feel not that worth cause still dont know will interested on photography or not. If spend extra Rm2-300 get lx5, if "3 mins warm" then will put a side already. This my opinion la, |

I'm having thought whether i should change my current lense EF-S 18-55 IS and EF-S 55-250 IS to the following:
Type of lens : All rounder lense Budget: RM1,000 for 2nd hand item Your Location: Klang Valley Preferable brand : Tammy/Siggy Type of photography u want to do : Basically looking for all rounder lense coz i travel a lot....but picture quality is my priority, i would rather stick to my current canon lenses if the picture quality is superior.... Any specific models in mind? : Tammy/Siggy 18-200, 18-250, 18-270mm Any specific features u want? : Internal focusing, Optical stabilizer features would be added advantage....HSM/USM not necessary.... |

Cons ============ -Immediately, you will lose Stabilization feature. -At the longer end, you will have smaller aperture. (At 200mm, you are at f/6.3 already with superzoom) (Using 55-250, you get f/5.6 at 250mm) -Working at low light would be tougher due to smaller aperture. -I have Sigma 18-200mm non-OS, it has zoom creep issue. I dont think any of your 2 lenses have these issues. (Well, if you think zoom creep is a non-issue, skip this) Pros ============ -You carry one lens only! -No lens change = no dust = perfect sensor health! Proposed Solution ============ -Stay with what you have Market ============ Sigma 18-200 OS is about RM1850 Canon 18-200 IS is about RM2200 Your two lenses may fetch about RM800 (just a very rough estimation) Estimated damage = RM1050-1400 |
