I'm quite happy with our striking option now. Rooney + Berbatov and Owen as third choice. I don't think we're so desperate for a striker. I'm more worried about replacement for ryan giggs, or a playmaker. Another unhappy case if Berbatov stays on the bench while Villa partners Rooney on field

Ferguson has reacted to Manchester United's stuttering defence of their title by offering £9million plus Nani for the 21-year-old Argentina international. The United manager witnessed Di Maria's scintillating form at first hand when he was at Goodison Park for the second leg of Benfica's Europa League rout of Everton recently. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...l-Di-Maria.html |

hi there..
i'm new here.. IMO is united currently don't need any new player.. becoz when all the players healed.. there won't be a place for the injured ones.. so juz be patience & maximalize youth potential |

Rooney has been in a rough patch lately. Berba not playing as he should be (even he knows that). Owen is not being used as often as he should be.
Either they buck up or we really do need a striker. |

Rooney seems fine to me. still 2nd top goal scorer in the league. hope he keeps it up even more. just dont understand why he had to play left midfield where wellback joins berbatov up front in the fulham game. thought wellbeck was going to play the midfield role. oh well...
berbatov still thinking about the 30 million price tag ? dont know if his under pressure because of that. owen is starting now and then, but still needs more games. i still think of his hat trick in the champions league. i remember i stayed up to watch that game. no regrets. wonder what will the line up be this saturday/sunday. cant wait for footy to start. |

Rooney scored 4 penalties so it adds up. If it wasn't for the penalty vs Wolves he wouldn't have scored either. Had 2 chances earlier and he wasted them. Thing with Rooney is he has somehow lost that final touch in front of the goal. As usual, he works hard all the way to the goal and loses it. To make full use of Rooney, you have to have a finisher/target man to work with him. Rooney does the hardwork and the other striker finishes them. Like Ruud and Saha.berbatov still thinking about the 30 million price tag ? dont know if his under pressure because of that. owen is starting now and then, but still needs more games. i still think of his hat trick in the champions league. i remember i stayed up to watch that game. no regrets. wonder what will the line up be this saturday/sunday. cant wait for footy to start. Berba is THE man to do the job but he's playing a SS role. Even if he stays up, he's not scoring and converting the chances. Owen is another perfect candidate but not sharp and fresh enough to start every game, thus losing the consistency. Macheda is the only other player I can see working well with Rooney upfront but if given a choice, I'll say splash for David Villa, especially after he said he's open to offers. |

Rooney is just isn't in good form. We know that berbatov will get more chances after this. With Owen, Welbeck, Macheda lining up to play. Baram Diouf is another player to look forward to.

Baram Diouf is another player to look forward to. I've had enough of the Berba discussion but how do you know that? We got lucky with Chelsea losing points against Everton and West Ham. We could have been 8 points adrift now. We will be having a different discussion should that have happened.Rooney works best with another striker with a good finishing, coz he doesn't have one. Berba should stick upfront, messing with defenders and wait for Rooney's and the other midfielder's deliveries. Unless he starts doing that and stop trying to be fancy with that supporting striker role, I see no hope with that partnership. |

Like Ruud and Saha. agreed. final touch or finishing, its always a problem. for me i think its the other way around. berbatov create chances for other players, and rooney finish it off. but yeah, rooney gotta work on his finishing. or it could be vise versa. whatever it is, should always hit the target when there's a good chance. dont regret later when the game is over. Berba is THE man to do the job but he's playing a SS role. Even if he stays up, he's not scoring and converting the chances. Macheda is the only other player I can see working well with Rooney upfront but if given a choice, I'll say splash for David Villa, especially after he said he's open to offers. owen needs more games in order to be sharp. at times is nice to see him play when his on form. scoring goals that is. macheda and wellback for me are 50/50. i think they're ok. maybe i dont see them much but i will not judge anything from them both. david villa ? i would like if man utd splash the cash for the spaniard but i would like to see Baram Diouf play 1st. i know he wont be starting every game but i say we should wait and see what his capable off. personally, i think we look good at the moment. dont think we need anyone. if only our injured defenders can soon play, that will be happy news. for now, i say we stick with what we have and start winning games like the old days. i want the old united back like last season. |

they're just playing the wrong formation. rooney can play on the left wing just because he's so diligent and disciplined. no other player can do the stuff he does so willingly. if u ask welback to slot into the left midfield, u'll see him drift up sooner or later. berbatov and rooney and owen should start together actually. rooney running, berbatov doing his magic (crap?) and owen just finishing (poaching). i think a 4-3-3 makes much more sense than playing a 3-5-2 formation |
