Hi Fren,

1. No taping involved. Just pure skill. Amazing to watch when they paint using their traditional "Berus Padi".
Instead, they used masking tapes/taping to get a better fitting between the paint roller handle and the handling stick tip.

2. RM80 is what their normal contractor tauke pays them. So thats their market rate.
Pay is per man per day. So internal/external work is not a problem.
I find it very reasonable as the money goes back to supporting their families in Indo.
These ppl live on daily wages so on slow days, they have no earnings. Just a humanitarin POV.

3. Yes. Just call them to discuss.

4. Yes. I don't think there's a specific term for those plastic sheets. Just describe them. The h/ware ppl should know it.

Im a renovation contractors.. I can do alot of reno works including painting:

Currently we charge:

single storey/apartment: RM 600
double storey : RM 1100

labour cost only..

we are located in subang jaya..

big / small apartment also RM600?

including door frame, windows frame?

for condo:
3 rooms
2 bath rooms
1750 sqft n below

for double storey:
24x80 or below

additional RM 60 for window n door frames

May I know is it just labour cost for painting interior and exterior is RM 1100.
My house is 20X75, want to paint all is it still RM 1100 for labour cost, may i know rougly paint i will need to buy how many for whole house & (door + door frames + window frames) as well

the price will be around RM 600 - 850..
for ceiling n walls only..


cheaper paint like ici maxilite or nippon matex.. will cost u around RM 60-70 per 18 ltr
higher quality paint like ici pentalite or nippon spotless will cost u around RM 90- 130 per 5 ltr or aprox RM 400 per 20 ltr.

last week bought colourland paint
range from 75~85 per 5 liter tin..
quite nice the result when painted to the wall of my kitchen..

Normally i will also help the workers painting so that i can save the cost. But rite now hari raya musim im too busy managing my clients..

you buy 1 tong of maxilite (18 litre)
and 2 tong of pentalite (20 liter)

if need to patch the walls..

buy ready to use filler..
3 or 4 sandpaper..medium grade..
