Sounds good. Guys, how to upgrade thru this page?
https://mips.tm.net.my/SelfCare/ I only can upgrade my 512kbps to 1mbps but there is no option about the promo thing. Only the usual plan of RM88. :S |

QUOTE(stargate8 @ Nov 23 2009, 01:51 PM) To ISP, we are now in the age of IT, how do we compete with other countries if we are still being provided with lousy internet services (slow connection, instability of the connection and expensive package). australia has fair usage polityWe have ard 20 millions of people, let's say 10millions sign up: Future package: 100MBPS (basic min) = RM100 per month unlimited and without fair usage policy (lol other countries doesnt has this policy) 10millions x RM100 = RM1,000millions of revenue per month. With economic of scale, who say ISP can't make money? |

You need to consider the money spent on maintenance and advertisments.

Let me guess
Streamyx do this promotion, many ppl will 'WOW, SO CHEAP' and subscribe it. And minimum is 2 years. Next year, they will start HSBB, 1-4mbps price drop, and then your promotion price is more expensive. BUT, you subscribe 2 years, you cant change. You wanna cancel, need to pay them |

QUOTE(bryanyeo @ Nov 23 2009, 09:39 PM) Let me guess Still can cancel, just pay penalty RM350 lor. You wanna cancel, need to pay them But if HSBB is really cheap (I don't think it will, due to lot of reason), then paying 350 penalty in some situaion can be worthwhile as well as 1 month even 512kbps package alreayd near 100, just waste 3 month plus subscription fee. The plan is good for those intention/wishing for upgrade their speed one, with extra 5-10 can get doubling speed already, but major complaint about streamyx is about stability, and connection quality, not speed. Yup, this is a good tactic to counter 'potong' campaign. Tight up people, give 4 months free upgrade, and only RM5-10 extra for doubling the speed seems tempting to some. But personally, I would prefer their provide consistent/stable performance on the network over the speed upgrade. Got super speed, but problem here and there also no use. |

I'm going to upgrade to 4mbps with this upgrade promotion, because my area wont have HSBB so early.

Frankly speaking 2mb, 1mb, 512, 384, if streamyx has problem time, whatever speed also no difference.
Except 4Mb which I heard they put on those users with different IP range. |
