The RM110 that i'm paying per month is inclusive of the line rental, so that makes it RM85 alone for broadband service.
If the price of this new upgrade promotion doesn't include the RM25 line rental i have no idea why are they offering such package

I just got my streamyx upgraded. From the RM44 standard package to 1mb combo wifi package.

QUOTE(exentric_nova @ Nov 23 2009, 01:24 PM) For standard package, its RM130 for 4Mbps, not RM150. Thanks for bringing that up, I corrected the typo. The rental line fee of RM25 per month is quite substantial and it is included in the existing Combo packages. So to compare it from a standard package POV, you will need to include it to see the true savings from this promotion.RM150 is for Combo Package. In any case, I didn't include the rental since that has always been something to bear from the very beginning. Why must it be included in the calculation? To illustrate; 1Mb/s Standard Package is RM88 without modem. To upgrade to 4Mb/s Combo: RM160 (inclusive of line rental) - RM88 = RM72 To upgrade to 4Mb/s under this new promotion: RM130 + RM25 (line rental) = RM155 - RM88 = RM67 The difference between the two is only RM5. Based on my earlier post, it's not really a good deal. You might as well upgrade to Streamyx Combo. For Combo, activation fee and installation fee is waived plus you will only be tied down for 12 months. |

QUOTE(IsaacVky @ Nov 23 2009, 03:01 PM) I think the 2mb sounds good to me, already getting 1.6mb speed using speedtest.net though, so I wonder whether the upgrading worthwhile. RM88 - RM130 = RM42I'm on 1mb rm88/month without modem now, so I'll be paying rm110/month on the 5th month after I upgrade? rm130/month for the 4mb upgrade package on the 5th month after I upgrade? You need to pay more RM42, not RM5 Some more they wouldn't so stupid with the idea you given, it's only apply on promotion period only. They will not last long, not more than 4 month promotion. They will make the term to be upgrade for 1 time only, to protect their profit! This post has been edited by owc: Nov 23 2009, 03:14 PM |

But there is not much different between the speed of 512k and 1m.
My home i using 512k and in company i using 1m. The speed? almost the same. Moreover, 1m user still have trouble access to China website like 512k. And after 2 years you need to pay RM88. If possible, why just go to other ISP like Jarxxx? ps: actually I think Tmnut should just give us a "free" 1 level upgrade. This post has been edited by yasmin: Nov 23 2009, 03:55 PM |

QUOTE(stargate8 @ Nov 23 2009, 01:51 PM) To ISP, we are now in the age of IT, how do we compete with other countries if we are still being provided with lousy internet services (slow connection, instability of the connection and expensive package). The problem is we have only around 1-2 million bb users around. We have ard 20 millions of people, let's say 10millions sign up: Future package: 100MBPS (basic min) = RM100 per month unlimited and without fair usage policy (lol other countries doesnt has this policy) 10millions x RM100 = RM1,000millions of revenue per month. With economic of scale, who say ISP can't make money? Malaysia until now has not achieved that kind of standard of living, remember still a lot low income group people just bare enough to feed the family, bb is a luxury for them. It is the urban people are the most bb users. |

Malaysia until now has not achieved that kind of standard of living, remember still a lot low income group people just bare enough to feed the family, bb is a luxury for them. It is the urban people are the most bb users. The main reason is because it is not "affordable". If it is "affordable" most people will definitely go for it. Why not "affordable"? Because in here we don't have enough competition to force down the price, is almost 100% control by the Txxxx. |
