RM5.50 /sqf blink.gif mind to share u r doing reflective tint or normal dark tint?
*
RM5.50 suppose to be cheap or expensive? I think market price around this.

Not sure how to differentiate reflective tint or normal dark tint but is those type that outside cannot see inside during daylight and vice versa during night.

i chose their expensive tine - ray barrier. very happy with it. it helped a lot but we also insulated the roof and did other stuff. overall tinting the windows was good. raybarrier didnt make it dark in the rooms which is nice smile.gif

Thanks for the info. The windows I have the plan to tint are mostly ground floor and first floor (mine is 2.5 storey), hence the roof should not be the main issue.

What kind of insulation you did for your roof?

those windows come with pre-tinted glass (gray, black, green), i assume not much use for heat reduction, right?

only those like car film got good use

you can install any car tint. i did that too and it's a lot cheaper than tiniting the car. personally i dont believe so much in v-cool so much any more (been using it in two cars but now i switched to 3M crystaline - it seems to perform better). ray-barrier for the whole house was around the price of a car tint. got it direct from the company, they came measures, quoted and installed quick freindly and efficiently. replaced one window cause got some dust stuck inside too. whole house just a few hours.
*
Do you have the details of the type of tint that you did for your house? Did the quality serves the price you paid for? why didn't you just use 3m tint for your house as well?

hmm.gif

I think RM5.50 is a normal and cheap price..more to lower end market..coz i have surveyed many types of tints..their prices range to high end up to RM40 psf !!! sweat.gif

If you want to have the best quality and don't mind bout the price, then better off with the higher range but if you are concern about the RM and just want a normal tint ..then go for the lower end price. Originals always have a higher price value..and most of all the workmanship of the tint company!!

i spoke with them. it was expensive and i thought it wont be worth the cost.

i tinted around 320 sqft of windows if memory serves me. i dont have the pricing but it was cheaper than tinting me sedan with 3M crystaline. so i guess below 2k. i used raybarrier - the max grade from ecotint. they have cheaper options too. got all done directly from them - my contact was pauline lau (012-283 7395). she was (is?) the head of commercial&residential.

good luck.

Waoo..you must have lots of windows and a large bungalow with many big glass doors then.

My house living room and master room also have very  big window.
I tinted the window, roughly RM5.50 per sqft and effect is quite good.

Like other said, of coz the no.1 factor is from the roof but tinted helped too.

HI all,

Just curious. What would be the difference getting a window which is already dark plus applying tints to windows ?

I'm currently surveying the tints from 3M - nightvision series ( looks very nice but not sure bout the pricing yet ). Also waiting for Ecotint rep but they promised someone to contact me today for product info and pricing. But none has contacted me yet.

Hope the experts here can advice.

Err... may I know which one Ur refering to? I'm looking for window tint tht onced tinted on the glass, the interior is not visible frm the outside both when day and night (when the room is lit). I have two rooms in the condominium with the windows facing the corridor, so some privacy is needed.

ray barrier is very transparent, look like no tint at all. good for cars as it won't make ur car a police magnet.

for home use, since jpj is a non-issue, is there any cheap and good (high IRR with darker VLT) tints? I assume raybarrier is expensive cos of the high IRR + high VLT combination

true ray barrier looks like hardly any tint - which means the rooms are bright lah. otherwise its like staying in cave.
