HI all,

Just curious. What would be the difference getting a window which is already dark plus applying tints to windows ?

I'm currently surveying the tints from 3M - nightvision series ( looks very nice but not sure bout the pricing yet ). Also waiting for Ecotint rep but they promised someone to contact me today for product info and pricing. But none has contacted me yet.

Hope the experts here can advice.

fuyoh I asked 3M Prestigious tint - Rm35psf. Summore must count wastage. Their roll is 5ft wide. If your window is 3ft wide you still need to pay for 5 ft width.

I got 250sf - almost 9k. Crazy!
I rather put black out blinds

Which installer did you contact ?

Last time I did some portion of my house using neutral 35 series, If I recall correctly wastage is not counted.

I did it with stickaround company, which if not mistaken is one of 3m distributor.

back then the prestige was 30 psf.

Stick around is still charging Rm30 psf and they didn't say anything about wastage. But they wrote to say they no longer carry 3M (unless requested)

I asked another company but forgot their name. Anyway Rm30 or Rm35 is too expensive for me. Rm10 psf is where I can afford

the RE 35 series I got was slightly a bit more around 12.60 psf if I recall.

you could also try lumar .. the showroom at jalan tun razak has quite a few models and last time when I surveyed the price was slightly cheaper than 3m .. I went for 3m just for the hue .. didnt like some tint that turned the windows shinny/reflective like mirror from outside..

What I did was, requested sample from a lot of manufacturers and pasted all on my window side by side .. then decided base on cost and hue ..

apparently none of the tint will still be dark during the night from outside .. one trick is to put a light in fornt of the window at night so that the outside is brighter from inside.
