i read some news said apple purposely come out some software something like worm which will damage the phone or whatever if you jailbreak the phone.

Does Apple really into that? I doubt that. Is there any way to JB 3GS 3.1.2 without blackra1n, I really hate tethered JB everytime the iPhone reboot in the new bootrom like mine. dev team is far more better than geo hot regarding JB. Wish dev team release the REAL JAILBREAK for 3GS 3.1.2 new bootrom. I wait for untethered JB, I must satisfy with the JAILED one.. sigh.

If we JAILED to connect our 'beloved-apple-iPhone' to our computer every time it on/off or reboot, then where is the real jailbreak?? logically to me we STILL JAILED! I wish you guys really know what I'm pointing at.

wat is tethered n untethered?

btw i trying to help my fren's iphone 3gs to jb but always come out windows error consist of "Send report" n "Don't Send" once i press make it ra1n...i tried on 3 pc n 3 also same

A tethered jailbreak means you cannot boot (turn on the iphone) without connecting it to a computer. Untethered means the iphone jailbreak is independent of computer, and it can boot all by its lonesome self.

There are no advantages to a tethered jailbreak, its just that when the developers release these applications, the tethered ones come first, then the untethered

guys im a 3G iphone user..
but not 3GS
today i went Lowyat and ask the software unlocked for 3GS..
all also using blackrain to do the software unlocked..
they told me i cant off my iphone??? i feel so weird coz i also jailbreak my Iphone 3G also no prob can on off..
but they told me die die also dont switch off the iphone 3GS software unlocked with blackrain...

hi guys, can u guys shed some light here, im having a 50 - 50% decision whether to jailbreak my iphone 3gs or not, it is an maxis unlocked version and frm replies and views frm few sources, they said it is not safe to jailbreak a factory unlocked iphone? my iphone is v3.1.2 ..

yeah, jb to install many useful apps, i can't even use bluetooth to share files without the ibluetooth app, i got my iphone last wednesday 20th Jan

As a point of interest, the iPhone dev team has released redsn0w v0.9b3 which handles 3.1.2.  For the most part, if you are already jailbroken with blackra1n and everything is working ok, no need to use redsn0w. If you need to jailbreak and dont want to use blackra1n for some reason, you can use redsn0w as an alternative. Redsn0w also has options to change boot logos. The redsn0w page has more details as well as download links at the bottom for both MAC and Windows users.

Note: if you have a 3GS newer than week 40 of last year then you still have a tethered jailbreak. That means if you ever reboot, you have to rerun blackra1n (or redsn0w). You don’t have to restore. Try not to reboot if you have these devices.

Sn0wBreeze is another jailbreak tool like pwnagetool, blackra1n, redsn0w for iPhone and iPod Touch. Sn0wBreeze, just like pwnagetool, created a custom firmware to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 and jailbreak iPod Touch 3.1.2. But unlike pwnagetool, Sn0wbreeze is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP and you can also add custom boot logos without performing a full restore.

Sn0wBreeze can jailbreak iPod Touch 1G, 2G (non MC) and iPhone 2G, 3G, and 3GS (old bootrom & non MC).

How is it different is redsn0w from PwnageTool?

redsn0w doesn't require a system restore like PwnageTool does (it doesn't even use iTunes at all). On the other hand, PwnageTool can prevent your baseband from being upgraded when you upgrade your firmware, preserving your unlock. (redsn0w doesn't touch your baseband but it doesn't help preserve it during an upgrade either).

redsn0w works by modifying your current filesystem, so your existing baseband, data and applications should remain intact.


How is it different is redsn0w from blackra1n?

It differs from blackra1n because:

      It uses our original Pwnage bootrom exploit for iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, and iPod 1G. (Because it's a bootrom exploit, it can't be fixed by Apple without a new hardware release.) Note that redsn0w 0.9 does use the USB exploit for iPhone 3GS and iPod 2G running 3.1.2, but that exploit will be fixed in Apple's next FW release.

how do we know that our i3gs come with new bootroom or old bootroom?

To check iPhone 3G/3GS bootrom version:

Put your iphone in DFU mode.
(Connect your iPhone to iTunes, turn off, click power+home button for 10 seconds, leave POWER button after 10 seconds, holding HOME button)

iTunes will detect your iPhone in recovery mode.

Go To:

Start->Control Panel->Device Manager

In Universal Serial BUS Controller, you will find Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

Right Click and go to Properties, go to Details tab and select "Device Instance Path" from the drop down list box.

In that information, u will find [iBoot-359.x] at the end.

i hv a problem with my itunes, i download and install FIFA 10 onto my iphone, after all done,then when connect to my notebook and sync to itunes,itunes remove my FIFA10.  
any solution? 
i already dload FIFA10 4x already and itunes simply wipe it

already transfer purchase and dload to my pc then sync to my iphone [but error msg comeout ]
