Hi, this is my iphone details. With the following:

-Serial Number: 88946Dxxxxx
-Model: MC134MY
-Modem Firmware 05.12.01
-Firmware 3.1.3
-iPhone 3Gs official maxis set

Just want to ask a few things.

1)Modem Firmware = baseband?

- If yes, baseband got anything to do with jailbreaking?

2) If want to jailbreak ONLY, need to see what baseband is it first or just see the FW or need to see both?

3) Is baseband is only relevant for unlockers & non official iphone set?

4) Can jailbreak my iphone with the current details I provide above using Pwnage tool or Snowbreeze?

By the way, a LYN forumer posted this link to downgrade 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 on baseband 5.11.07 3Gs.



Anyone tried that?

1) firmware is firmware.. baseband is different thing.. baseband is big relate to JB..
2) see both lo.
3) of course yes.. baseband for official unlock after upgrade still can call but locked = bye bye.. cant call wor.
4) cannot de.. bcos u update to latest baseband 5.12.01.. but for official u still can unlock but not JB..

actually baseband is most important.. firmware i can go up and down but baseband if u forget to save ur baseband in SHSH then u cant downgrade at the end..

Ohh, aiyo sad case. Did a mistake and upgraded it to FW 3.1.3 cuz during my JB in 3.1.2, I was installing some applications form Cydia then when need to refresh springboard, it just hanged there.

After 30 mins still the same. Restart with sleep/power button also can't work so got no choice but to force quit with home + power button.

Then after force quit straight can't start phone anymore. Keep getting stuck at "connect to itunes" screen. Jailbreak with blackra1n also stuck at geohot picture.

No choice but to restore to FW 3.1.3

if u have mac, u can JB using pwnedge, if windows u can try sn0wbreeze....
u can create custom ISPW and downgrade back to 3.1.2fw but if u have locked set then it'll be an expensive ipod touch for now....

The stuff you mentioned in your post especially the custom IPSW can be applicable to me?

now no use de.. even custom firmware also can't help bcos ur baseband is upgrade to latest.. at the end also no use

heard the developer won't spend time to jailbreak 3.1.3 so we might need to wait for the next firmware.

I saw other users in other forums saying they're using Redsnow to jailbreak their 3.1.3 3Gs. Is it possible? Has anyone tried it? Only for jailbreaking, no unlocking.

lol.. got such thing de.. when u update to latest firmware is u can't unlock it but u still can JB it.. using the redsnow and snowbreeze.. u may try for it.

Ya my iphone is already officially unlock so I don't care if Redsnow can unlock or can't. I only want to JB it.

u can JB ur set with redsnow.. want to know more detail try to find ur best friend google.. he will told u many thing..

sure can la..using disk aid..just paste the folder inside there..my iphone is 3g 16gb..b4 dis using 3.1.2 can easily JB but now on 3.1.3 canot do yet..need to JB 1st..only JB iphone can do.

For Redsnow REQUIREMENTS:

1. An iPhone 2G or 3G - NO 3GS.
iPod Touch 1G & 2G (Model number not beginning with MC) - NO 3G, NO 2G (with MC model number).
2. Firmware 3.1.2 on your desktop
3. Restore to 3.1.3 First
4. Download Redsn0w 0.9Beta4

hope this can clear up ur mind.. however i won't be reasonable any damage of it.. u may try if u ad in 3.1.3 bcos should be no harm but if u in 3.1.2 pls bear in mind don't ever try it..
