Yup, about time Garmin came into the iphone scene, will make PPG shiver in their spine. Only hope when garmin becomes available, the price would be competitive.

Indeed, Malfreemaps and the custom POIs are what makes Garmin that good. I read that the Garmin app could be free, which is a bit odd.

Free? Highly unlikely. I don't think garmin is that generous. I'm predicting the price to be around USD50++ just like others. Do remember though, Garmin does not collaborate with Mfm, their official map provider in Malaysia is MSM. it might be a good thing as it should lower the price.

IPhone 4 should have gps chipsets in the phone. Why can't we locate the satellite without 3G or wifi?

Well, I don't think it's gonna be free too. Probably the app would be free but the maps won't. This is what I read, "The company apparently plans to release Garmin PND apps into Apple’s App Store and the BlackBerry App World as free downloads" and I read it here.

No, basically no data connection is needed as its solely dependable on the gps chipset in d phone.
3g/wifi is only required to reveal ur position asap.
In other words, tomtom papago etc. Doesnt require data plan to work

In my opinion, Papago's the best one right now. And the cheapest too, I believe. smile.gif

It doesn't have voice navigation? I think there is voice navigation on mine. And yes, I myself love TomTom's interface much more than Papago's.
