Sygic so far best interface and routing, good customization options. But havent used extensively yet. Papago sucks, hideous, voice low, though routing is good. Tomtom nice interface but bad routing and map not up to date. Waiting for Garmin for iphone, to me, ex Windows mobile user, Garmin XT is the best. Too bad, not yet arrived for iphone, Garmin street pilot is only for online use.

Arrow is one thing, it actually cannot tell which direction when you have stopped...it doesn't lock on the previous direction..

But I hope they correct in in the next upgrade.

Mobile maps 3d. Very cool. U can c klcc as the building itself

I'm using Papago 8, so far satisfied, been using Garmin Mobile XT on my Nokia previously, so since both have POI by Malfreemaps, i'm satisfied.. i've tried Sygic, it is nice and easy to use, but lack the POI..
And to me, apart from searching a specific road, my main concern is its POI database.. so to me Papago win hands down...

IamA apple noob so not sure on it, and after going tru the malfreemap board they were talking about accessing, opening the maps in 7zip and putting it in the installation folder which really just confused me more.

ahhh, from page 57, post #1125 it's only applicable if you wanna use custom maps. I use Sygic myself, so I don't know bout the whole process; but it looks kinda complicated and disastrous to someone who's never tinkered with iOS before. You might wanna just stick to the oiginal map. My 2 cents worth

Well, adding customize maps for Papago is quite difficult at first.....later on...once you get the hang of it...you'll update the maps monthly!

If worth it getting MFM latest maps..try it....but backup the original map first some where in your desktop just in case you dun like the busy and pinkish maps

yet to call for your help and guide me on updating maps for Papago...

Take it from me, once you install MFM maps on Papago, there is no turning back

anyone currently using SYGIC?..how good is it?...POI and MAP-wise good?...i wan about to buy it....just need to confirm...if compared with Papago..which better?

I bought Sygic SG and MY when it was on sale too. I have used PPG M8 (v8.15) once before as well, and from my short experience:

Voice of navi - Sygic hands down. Loads of choices, even for english - you have australian, british, american. You get limited choices in PPG. You're fine if you wannna use Mandarin or Cantonese, but the English is just OK, and their Bahasa is horrendous. No disrespect, but that Bahasa is unuseable.

UI - Sygic hands down. Rerouting time is negligible and i love lane assistant. The 3D buildings and city guides are also a plus.

Maps + POI - i dare not compare coz it depends on the user ultimately. Die hard users of PPG will vouch for the mfm maps, but im happy with sygic. Hasnt failed me once. I think, if you're used to using PPG you might feel Sygic's kinda defective as you cant install custom maps+poi. If not, Sygic is efficient enough.

You only wanna know bout the maps and POI right? At USD 13, Sygic is definitely a steal; and a no brainer to me.

- any crash problem so far?..on iphone 4 and ios 4.3.3?
- how long does it update the map? and how it update - a whole new version of sygic to download or able to update it in-app(in app, press update, and it will request map file from server to update itself)
- does it need any in-app purchase to have good map or watsoever?...i pay $12.99 will get full features?..its original price is 49.99 rite?
- which version is better?... SE Asia or SG&MY?..which 1 got junction view?

PAPAGO - Damn ugly but alot of POI
Sygic - nice looking but less POI

hands down means no competition la. sygic easily beats ppg in terms of UI and voice of navi. [to me at least] and if you've used PPG before their map is ugly right? it looks like a 2D printed map and i can't easily read the names of the roads.

for the maps and POIs, you got me wrong. what i meant is that, i honestly don't know. to me it's good enough, but im sure it can't beat the always updated custom maps from mfm.

1. if u meant from point to point then it doesnt suffer from any lagging.

2. i don't think it can beat the comprehensive PPG's POIs, but it worked allright for me. found all the pois i wanted.

3. wasn't a problem to me as i always leave it charged in my car when i use gps, so don't know bout its consumption. it has however 3 options for battery optimization. i just choose optimized.

4. personally, i dont know as i don't use my iphone as a phone. lol but from what ive read in their website, it has the ability to auto resume after phone calls.

5. no crashes on my old iphone 3g running iOS 4.0 so far, so i would assume that newer generations would be allright.

6. bought the app when it was only newly updated, so i dont know the answer to this. im also not quite sure on the frequency of them updating their maps.

7. Nope. there're no in app purchases in the SG&MY version, but in the SEA's version you can buy City Guides and 3D buildings at USD 4.99 each. That's why it's tagged as sale. You get its full feature for USD 13 [aside from the in app purchases ive already mentioned in the SEA's version ]

alot POI now..really sufficient!..just abit troublesome to search a place...now any search box to place in my search query string...i have to set a country, state/city, street then only can see nearby POI.. ..but still okla..since i will mostly get a coordinate from google maps before i start my journey and then set as my favourite..so this not so big deal...

not yet really try to use for long period, but from what i see, really lesser consumption despite its superb UI..

not sure which better but definitely better than tomtom/papago(my personal opinion-not to defame ppg/tt)..not sure about junction view..need try on the road..

these ans should ans most question ppl need to know about sygic my+sg..USD 12.99 definitely a must-buy!

Junction view will literally show u the junction and where to go( follow the junction or stay in the right lane)

The lite n pro differences i think only junction view (looks cool) n 3d buildings in certain area ( which is useless in my oppinion ).

Just buy the lite version.. As long as it can guide u to ur destination it would be more than enough rite?

As your recommendation bro..Already bought the lite version. But i can't update the the mfm map i've downloaded there. Already followed the instruction, and i'm getting the "resources have been modified" error.
