If I'm not mistaken, I googled around and Garmin Streetpilot doesn't use an installed map like other GPS programs used. So installing the .img maps it wont read it. The maps are from the telco carrier itself (which Malaysia doesn't support)....and I doubt ppl wanna pay so much for data unless they have an unlimited plan.
Getting the maps to appear also depends a lot on the location....so if you are in US or Canada and....isolated area...you are better of with a real map or different GPS program that has installed maps
...Yes...kinda disappointing..most ppl think Garmin Strretpilot is like the old and trusted Garmin XT..but in fact its not...its another way for the Telco to make money...nothing wrong if you are willing to pay for it.
Tom tom is faster with the GPS correction and stuff...but let down is the TomTom maps and POI are not updated to the latest.
So when ppl are using new and faster roads available, TomTom users will still be on the old roads.
I like papago, but the map route options and lousy POI search function I have to live with, also customize POI can't be installed (I think)
Thing is, I still using a Garmin XT on my WM device for GPS rather than Papago on the iphone
