QUOTE(louistii @ Nov 8 2009, 07:31 PM)
I will going to hk on 13 Nov and back on 16th Nov. Below is my plan itinerary.
Day 1 - reach hkia morning and check in hotel (largos hotel)
        - go to victoria peak by tram.
        - back before sun set to water front for symphony of lights and
            arena of star.
        - Do some visit to night market
Day 2 - Half day tour(due to package sign)
        - Disneyland till night
Day 3 - Ocean Park
          - visit lam kwai fong if having enough time
Day 4 - Own leissure on doing some window shopping before boarding
            back to kl at night

Please advise above planning. What is the temperature during the visit? my first time to hk..
Thanks
*
The night scene of Hong Kong city at The peak is super nice.. stay a bit longer for the night view.. It is wasted if you leave the peak before sun set!

wah.. open rice also not realiable edi..

actually usually i dig my info on good food from another backpackers website..

I heard Mandarin Oriental also serve good buffets but i have never tried before.. Hong Ki normally go MO for hi tea where China ppl normally go Peninsula.. hehhehe
*
Yep Mandarin Oriental serve very good high tea!!! Highly recommended!! Other than that, can try in Four Seasons too, I heard comments are quite good too. If for high tea, actually I don't recommend the Peninsula 'coz too crowded all the time.... Many Mainland China people & Japanese too, there is always long queue there (maybe just beside your table) when you're enjoying your high-tea...

QUOTE(takki87 @ Nov 7 2009, 04:25 PM)
thank you for the map...it's much better with that...
btw, how long does it takes if i take bus instead of peak tram??
can i take bus going down from the peak??tongue.gif
and how about the observation deck at bank if china??
sorry for asking so many questions..

Added on November 7, 2009, 4:28 pm
hihi...thanks for your advice...
that will be better..
cz take ding ding tram all the way to shau kei wan and has nothing to do kinda waste of time..tongue.gif
beside can enjoy the view onli..

Added on November 7, 2009, 4:31 pm

thanks for the road's names..
i will refer to it... notworthy.gif

can i know what time is fa yuen street and ladies street close??
because as the info i have, it close at around 10-10.30pm..
i'm act plannin to go these places at night but worry not enough time..
*
It takes roughly 20-30mins to go up/down the peak by bus, if I'm not wrong..
Stalls in Fa Yuen Street generally start closing at around 10pm... but stalls in Ladies Street would close a bit later at around 11 or 11:30pm 'coz more people there. Therefore I suggest you to visit Fa Yuen Street before Ladies Street, 'coz items in Fa Yuen Street would be cheaper than Ladies Street 'coz more locals shop there. Ladies Street is somehow too "tourist-oriented".

QUOTE(C-Note @ Nov 7 2009, 08:38 PM)
Haha yeah...ages ago..last time I tried was at least 5 yrs ago. Been going alot to Harbour View..got once they had foie gras on their menu!! Sapu like hell  biggrin.gif

Since I stay in my aunt's house in Happy Valley everytime i go back, I always go to Causeway Bay for Tai Ping Koon(famous roasted pigeon, beef tongue and Souffle) and a  famous restaurant around there too that serves awesome goose noodle.

Any more nice eateries around Causeway Bay coz i'm sick of those places my aunt always bring me..like Chui Yun (across the street from Lee Theatre) and a freaking good TeoChew cuisine around there.
*
Must be more than 5 years!!! It's like closed down more than 10years tim!!! Did you remember the hotel name wrongly?? hmm.gif

QUOTE(PrinceHamsap @ Nov 7 2009, 08:44 PM)
guys and gals

i was thinking to fly to hongkong for coming xmas celebration

izzit really beautiful as i always heard about it?
*
not as beautiful as Tokyo & Seoul... There is only light decorations outside the buildings along both side of Victoria Harbourfront, and inside the shopping malls... But Hong Kong is a relatively cheaper choice of feeling a Cold X'mas in Northern hemisphere.

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 8 2009, 08:40 AM)

thanks very much for your compliment~ biggrin.gif

thank you for the bus webage... biggrin.gif
but, probably will walk to the peak tram station and take peak tram.
but, need to wait long time for the bus from the peak??
might tak bus down from there..hihi!!!
*
I think it would be faster than you wait for the long queue at the Peak Tram station if you're going on weekends or during peak season! You know, it could take more than 30mins for queueing up for the Peak Tram in festive season!!!!

Not yet... it's still early ma... now only in early-Nov, I think the "mood" will be ready by end of this month!

I haven't been in S'pore during x'mas time but the heat is killing me... I think it's better to feel the x'mas mood in somewhere with cold weather, the colder the better!!! thumbup.gif

oh yea, you said you will go to the Peak in Friday, right? Please do bring along jacket/coat 'coz it's even colder and very windy at the Peak!

It won't be raining heavily in Winter. Most of the time it's only sleet. Can go without umbrella if not walking for long distance.

My last trip to the peak was last year...started at 2pm & down by 4pm..at 2pm abit hazy but ~4pm sky clearer...Morning worst..hazy. So I think Evening to Nite better...But hor my 1st trip to HK was in 1995 summer mth Hot but clear sky...There was no The Peak yet..the bus just brought us 1/2 way up Victoria peak, & whatever photos takenm during that time (1995) turned up nothing bcos, long time ago camera not so sophisticated..can't really take nite shots!! So those dun hv proper camera stand & nite still shoit...going at nite can be disaster!!...imagine u can see yourselve but background nothing!...But nowadays most Dig Camera probably good liao..otherwise..rethink if going at nite... biggrin.gif although I agreed the view at nite for sure very nais but not on lousy camera.. smile.gif

this was taken from the top of the peak ~3.35pm last Dec:

This was taken ~10:30am at arena of star- abit hazy:
