Hi all,

I saw the current promo would be approximately 1500 Malaysian if I travel next year Feb. If I were to go to Hong Kong Disneyland for 2-approximately 800 HK right now, and stay there 5 days 6 nights-food,mid level accomodation and entrance fees for tourist sites. Would MYR 5000 to 6000 be enough?
*
5-6k including flights?

Food average HKD 50 per pax per meal
if you are going for roasted goose or bird, prepare to HKD100 per ppl
prepare HKD150 per pax for food in HK disneyland
This can easily cost you rm1k

Feb still CNY period so mid range hotel will cost your around rm350 per night
meaning it will be around rm2100 for 5 nights

smile.gif this rough calculation already sum up to rm3k at least

5-6k will be enough if you manage to get ur flight for two pax below rm1k each

hi, anyone can recommend hong kong hotel near walking distance to mrt, budget around rm 400 per night for 3 people??
*
for 3 adults?
Triple Room never come cheap in HK (normally range from rm500 and above) unless you don't mind to stay in those Mongkok budgeted hostel

This hotel is around rm500 (triple room comes in one queen bed and one single bed). The room itself is spacious but a bit outdated.

C.) One thing i really enjoyed was going up to the Peak to see the night time view. Dont take the tram which is super overcrowded, instead take the bus. Cheap and no queue!.

I would say taking tram up to the peak is a must-try thing and make sure u sit on the Right hand side of the tram as you can see astounding view along the way.  Just use your octopus card to get in and avoid Fri - Sun plus holidays, the queue will be shorter. My mom who is in her early 50 also queued for it so it wasn't really that bad. Taking bus ride from the peak to Central is another better way to get back to city. Bus 15 / 15c will drop you at Peddar Street then you can walk to many good restaurant.

D.) Symphony of Light is also worth watching. Everynight around 730?? there will be sound and laser show from all along Victoria Harbor

It starts at 8p.m every night

smile.gif The food prices in HK is high but it worth the price

HKD25 per bowl of porridge in random char chan teng in HK VS RM9 per bowl of Hon Kee Porridge in KL
HKD25 outperformed what we got in KL

Hi everyone, I will be traveling to HK next year April 2012. Currently looking for accommodation. Any worthwhile recommendations?

I found Cosmo Hotel which is within my budget, anybody stayed there before?
*
actually it is slightly too early for you to book Apr 2012 hotel room. most of the hotel rate for next Apr will be only released in Dec -Jan

Cosmo hotel, is it located in Wan Chai? (as i only can remember there is a Cosmo Hotel located in Wanchai which is far from MTR)

Yup, that's it. But it says in their web page they have free shuttle bus to 15 destinations including MRT.

http://www.cosmohotel.com.hk/facilities.html

My budget will be around RM 700 for 2 nights. Please comment and suggest. laugh.gif
*
you are going there in Apr 2012,right?

Trust us, you dont have to rush to book hotel now as your budget is good enough to stay at better hotel which those hotels mostly will announce their rate only in late Dec onwards

You've stayed there before? Could you share some thoughts of the hostel.  nod.gif
*

I will be going over to Macau on the last day of my trip to catch my flight. Which ferry you guys recommend to take? I know there's Turbo Jet, Cotai Jet and New World First Ferry. Btw, do they have a limit on passenger's luggage? My family and myself will be travelling with a medium-big luggage and a hand carry luggage each.
*
it depends on where do you stay in HK
If you staying in Kowloon island then it is more convenience to take New World First Ferry
If you are staying in HK island then it is more convenience to take Turbo or Cotai and Cotai stop at the pier which is nearer to macau airport

anyway, no worry on the hand carry luggage

For the ferry from Macau > HK, is it possible to buy the ferry tix at a specific time but board the earlier time?

For example, I bought 5pm but board the 4pm ship:)
*
Possible.
It is up to your luck that they let you board or not depending on the availability of seat

Tq for the quick respond! if my MAS flight at 6.45pm, what time is recommended to reach Sentral?
*
if you are taking KLIA express, you can check in at KL sentral then only take the KLIA express (around 30mins) to KLIA.

Suggest that you reach KL Sentral at around 4.30p.m then proceed to buy your tickets (rm35 per way per pax) then do it check in at KL Sentral then only board the KLIA Express.

the peak to the central mrt just like few minute away....

biggrin.gif die die also need to walk to tram station ...i don't want to die young man..

you typed from The Peak to Central (that you missed out the 'downhill tram station') in your previous post which this may mislead them.

no offense if you are taking MTR, Admiralty stop is nearer to it.

Same like my case. A taxi driver offered HKD100 for a short ride to Central from Tram Station which actually only cost HKD20.
Oops. Forgot to mention it's tram station. It's the uphill that I dislike about laugh.gif
*

[/quote]

wow HKD100 really big time con man!

hahaha if you are young and weather is nice, maybe can consider walking

Don't try to do this in the bloody warm summer or when you are travelling with kids and elders, just pay the HKD 20 (the jump start amount of cab).
