it disable some useless apps from loadin after startin the phone
im still at here tryin to see which i can disable n which i cant
bt it does make the phone boot faster
n another thing it did

last time b4 i use tis
my phone will encounter some random restart after startup
i check b4 at xda
it was due to ram usage
cuz as u know
my phone usin 7 homescreens
n every screen is full of things
so for me to encounter tis problem is normal
but after usin autostart
no more random reboot

i did see my ram nvr drop below 50mb
bt im not sure anythin else it did

tested it already..yeah damn fast lah bro...revert back to 2.1 Generic coz not suitable for daily use..hoping the devs at xda will iron out all the bugs..

Hi guys. Just got my X10 yesterday. Got some for the sifus here. 1st thing that i did was trying to update to 2.1, so i downloaded PC Companion, but it says i already got the latest update. Then i use SEUS and this time there is an update. After downloading some 140 MB and installation went smoothly. The bad news is that i didnt get the 2.1 update, instead it updated my build from 23 to 26. I tried to run SEUS again but it says already latest. My guess is that 2.1 is not ready for my AP set. I saw Fallen did suggest from previous post here to try using nordic. I would like to try this but the method suggest using root explorer which is a paid app. I tried using astro as an alternative but didnt work. Any suggestion is much welcomed.

Just got my x10 yesterday

Manage to flash from 1.6 to 2.1 via pc companion and just rooted it too

want to ask, are you guys use the standard Youtube app or the updated version (i try finding in market couldnt find). Is it only available for Froyo ?

I'm new to x10 but not new to Android, was running cm6.1 RC1 in my old phone.

well may i ask, wat is ur SI?
and did u change ur SI number?
and if u having hard time changing the SI number,
u can go download Esplorer (something start with E and the icon of the app consist of a file and earth)
sorry i cant gip u the exact name of the app cos my x10 firmware kinda 'run' away.
after u had download the E thingy app,
u go to setting/option, there is a category called testing zone (or something tat have same meaning with it)
just select the things there. i kinda forget wat the things name is but if u try it, u will know.

btw, this method only for rooted device

don't worry bout the above, just found out that the new Youtube app was meant for 2.2 and above. However, some dude over XDA hacked the app to work with 2.1 , this new app really looks better than the standard 1 , u guys should try New Youtube App

the above matter sounds great.. let me use on it for a week.. then is oly i carry on vit above matter.. but so far i encounter a laggy situation when i awake my phone on sleep mode, then switch between pages feel laggy, go in menu feels laggy.. then left it for 10sec n play again, it get smoother..

PI checked the SI and mine was not in the list. Correct me if im wrong, what need to do is change my IS no using es explorer to any of the listed, right? Another question, what r the risk of changing the SI?

well, i oso a newbie so dont expect much from me.
u can change to the SI to the listed SI on the blog using the es app ( cos i tried many, only that 1 works. es app allow to re-write rom files)
im nt sure bout the risk. all i know tat is tat different kit (SI number ) have different app installed along with the update
eg : if u take a SI from germany, some of them will have their own service provider app coming along with it

Nevermind, we all try to learn here. This is my first android hp also. Anyway, i have it figured out now. Need to root my hp 1st then change the SI and lastly get the 2.1 update. Im still trying to root my hp now, so far no luck well, maybe i just wait for the official 2.1 for my SI to come out. Thanks again k

i think the problems wit the force close when sign in has not been solved yet
bt if u r not signed in
then its ok

the reason for tis
i think it is anyway
cuz many programs r runnin when u boot up the phone
jit makes the programs run faster bt usin more resources
autostarts kills some programs from loadin unless u load the program
so its faster
bt im usin setcpu also
so my phone response is a bit slow when its on sleep mode to awake mode
since i underclocked the cpu on sleep mode

on 1.6 its quite easy

many ppl reported the problems with signin in
so tat is keepin me off for the moment

i dont use account for youtube in mobile phone.... seems like the ui is nicer... i've tried but it keeps an error "apps not installed"... zzzz

JIT + Autostarts + Autokiller = Awesome performance. Now my memory never go below 100Mb

yeah ... the UI is much nicer(view video and read comments at the same time, turn landscape to go full screen, etc etc)and i like the dark theme that came with it ... and i don't mind the sign on problem too cuz it doesnt really add much value.

to properly install it, you need to uninstall the standard 2.1 youtube application first via adb. Just follow the instruction on the first post on your link.
