getting alex rim dp17... it get bad review in mtbr. but quite good review in bicycle forum. should I go with this brand??

alexrim dp17 is entry level. of course its gonna get bad user reviews from mtbr.com, its among the cheapest there.

use only middle ring? if rear cassette 11-34 should be ok, have wide enough ratio, as long as u stay on road, but max speed would depend on how fast u can spin ur legs.

2010 Anthem X including shock --> 2.3kg
2010 XTC --> ~1.4kg (guestimate.. since never seen it on scale.... LBS boss say wan... he said same weight as the old XTC Composite)
2010 XTC Team --> 1.66kg

I'm thinking using 38T chainring.
On paper/theory... looks like slopes are ok.. else have to leg it... lycra wearing roadie chick..mmmm....
