seriously bro, you still havent kena. You dont know. well ventilated? heck, my ps3 was placed in a very open space, and even one of the forummers had his ps3 in air conditioning room, still hit by YLOD. There is a problem with the first batch of 40 gb sku PS3. Refer to the poll. and of course Sony wont admit the problem, they have brains laugh.gif

i am giving up to repair mine. Just kumpul duit to buy a new official malaysian PS3 slim. Save all the hassle.

but the probability to hit YLOD is much more lower than XBox360's RROD.

So just enjoy your gaming life as much as you can, not to worry so much tbh icon_rolleyes.gif

I currently put a table fan on my right hand side of my PS3.It means that the air blow into my ps3 right side vent. But I google arround that the hot air is actually come out from there!!!!
But I try put my hand on the side vent there,I dint feel the hot air is coming out from there!!!Then how come they say the hot air come from side vent??
Isnt that the Xbox 360 and PS3 side vent is the same as the cool air is enter through the side vent?Help me I am very confuse sad.gif

40gb japanese set bought april '08.
Screw the ventilation / heating issues. Its just luck.

Keep your machine in an airconditioned, well-ventilated space, with a fan blowing directly to the side vent would only prolong the inevitable.

reflowing the machine is like patching up a tyre, it will come back. the only solution is to reball the thing. or a new one.

the one thing that srew all of us is the abusive on off cycle which is more abusive than let it stay on. expansion and contraction over many period of time weaken the metal structure hence our bga(cell or rsx) solder ball not making contact to the pcb(mobo) and this is why we get ylod error. its the very same problem with the xbox rrod error.

According to your statement, well it means that all Xbox 360 and PS3 will definately break down one day?
So,is it that we every one year have to buy and replace with a brand new console?Just like the gardenier bread, the supermarket have to throw away or send back and swap with a brand new roti?

If like that,I think gaming is the entertainment just for those billonairne .
Please correct me if I am wrong. smile.gif

emm not to say will definately bcuz others seem dont have dis problem, but the first model xbox literally all brokedown and i think sony improves their solder proses and thus not many got the problem, only happen to those who unlucky one, nevertheless is the same problem which is the solder ball not making contact anymore between the bga n the pcb

No problem. We need people like you to keep the market competitive. Those shop asking for RM300-RM400 for fixing YLOD is pure nonsense. No changing of parts yet the ridiculous price.
