1. Brand : Nissan Sentra/Toyota Vios/ Honda Civic
2. Budget : range of RM80k
3. New/Used/Unreg : New
4. Specs : Would prefer full spec
5. Transmission : Automatic
6. NA or FI :  NA
7. Type : 5 seated?
8. Remarks : Low fuel consumption type, high second hand value,  maintenance cost, and fuel consumption.

Gonna stick with this car for another 10 years..Any suggestion?

Sorry..correction..it is honda city

Drop the sentra. It is an old model with old technology. New sentras are already out around the world. But no doubt i still like the car for its robustness. If the new sentra was out, it would still be in the competition. The reason that it isn't out is because Latio was introduced and would be a conflict as both have the same cc and aim for the same market segment.

Either the vios or city will fit the bill. City the most advance in the class and vios the best selling car in the category. But note the vios engine is quite dated already.

1. Brand: any
2. Budget: Not more than RM20k ( better to have loan installment)
3. New/Used/Unreg: Used
4. Specs: 1.3 maybe
5. Transmission: any
6. NA or FI: -
7. Type: -
8. Remarks: low fc, good condition

based on information above, is it possible to get a car?

Perodua Kelisa, proton wira.

I'm still driving my 1998 wira 1.3. Clocking almost 300k km and still reliable. Fuel is not as good as my viva but better than my persona.

Consider a new car. What is your monthly installment you are looking at and how many year? I think this is more accurate for us to consider what car fits your requirement.

What i'm saying is do you know how much you want to pay in installment?

You may say you want to spend RM20k but how many years? 5? 7? 9? and what is the interest rate that you are looking at?

New cars although more expensive, have low interest rates and don't have wear and tear issues.

So in the end, the installments that you pay for a new and 2nd hand car are more or less the same.

need recommendation... to buy a new car
normally what me & my parents did before is walk into a showroom, get price list, make decision, pay booking & apply loan etc...

now that i'm looking fwd to get a vios (maybe honda city if $ allow)... should i jus do the way tat i did before... or the newspaper classified has many agents selling new cars too. i heard it will be at lower price than listed in the showroom price list

and i know the risk would be, agent dissapear, together with my money... hm... chances are? how to find good service and not-a-scam agent?

i have a friend, he bought from an agent , and the agent did not runaway with his money or disappear, but promise 1month can get, already 3 months still no car... everytime chase, besok lusa, next week next week, next week, at last no car, refund.. although refund but afterall all he wanted is his damn car! and after so many months of waiting? and it has to start all over again ...!!!

so agent or walk-in to showroom...

I think that is a common problem for local and jap agents.

What you could do is if you know what car you want to get, ask around for a reliable agent.

Even if they have big show rooms does not necessarily mean that they are good agents.

RM3k downpayment with RM450 monthly for 9 years, you'll be only able to afford car priced at RM30-35k

4.2% per annum

I also consider vios besides city and sentra, what's the main difference between E and G spec for Vios 2006?
I see the market rate is touching RM60k for an e spec.
