30k can get u a used waja from 2002-2004 if u still require loan. If u have 30k in cash, i recommend to get the corolla SEG AE101-AE111 or the honda civic EG which can be obtained around or lower that price range. Those are saloon cars more than 10-15 years so u may want to spend some money to get all wear n tear parts to be replaced but once that is done, ur ride is as good as most new cars.

Hi. I'm planning to buy my first car. Family's mechanic recommended this car. Previous owner is a girl who takes very good care of her car and drove only around 30k miles. Mum said it's a bit on the pricey side considering its age. I'd like to know if it is worth it? Exterior and interior in tip top condition according to mechanic. Thanks!

Hmm check the service booklet to see if the car is serviced well according to schedule and by proper perodua workshops. If so, maybe negotiate to 22-23k and u will get a good decent ride.

THANKS!

I do like toyota but i was thinking more on proton and perodua honestly because compared to toyota or honda which i can only get the older models (pre 1998) for my cash budget, there are some protons or peroduas that are manufactured after 2000.

I must say the kenari as a fuel saver has attracted me but i am sad because i heard that as a 1.0cc vehecle, it struggles when climbing up genting.

What then is my next best choice for a fuel saving car?

After your recommendations of honda civic, i did some search n mudah.com and i must say that the design is very very pleasant. I wonder how fuel efficient they are compared to proton waja, iswaras or toyotas seg?

I believe honda parts must be more on the more expensive side compared to toyota if i am not wrong.

So, if i do go for your recommendations, which is more fuel efficient, toyota seg or honda eg?
If toyota seg, which is prefered and why, 16 valves (black top) or 20 valves (silver top)?

and one thing is for sure - i think none of the toyota seg, honda eg, proton iswaras / wajas can match kenari in terms of fuel saving, am i right?

Thanks! smile.gif

d) good FC (12km/L or above for pure city)
e) 65% highway 35% city most of the time

So far, seems like Gen 2 CPS is the only one that almost fits the bill. Are there other Jap/Conti cars that you think can fit my requirement? Thanks in advance =D.

Well those cars are quite old so dont expect their FC to be as good as modern new cars. U may run around 10-12km/l which should be decent enough for a 1.6cc car. Go for the manual if u can.

If u insist good FC, kenari or kelisa is a better choice.

Hmm gen2 NCAP i doubt its 4 stars so its out unless u dont mind it sweat.gif

Well if safety is priority and i have highly doubt NCAP is implemented to our cars except if its conti, the next best thing is the used honda city at 50-60k. It is derieved from the honda jazz platform which scores 4 stars in NCAP. U can opt for a used jazz from 2003-2004 idsi version as well. Both is ensured to have good FC. Both also uses CVT so its something like a triptronic as well.

Another option is the used 1.6 Peugeot 206 at 30-40k. NCAP 4 stars, should have good FC and triptonic gearbox as well. But quite hard to find a used unit here moreover need to be extra becareful when considering the car.

thanks for your advice bro smile.gif

currently gen2 cps fit most except the safety part sad.gif

for jazz, too old sad.gif max i'd be comfortable with is a 3 year old car. and the peugeot 206, i did have thought of it, but i think im not willing to risk the transmission dying on me sad.gif. perhaps i should go all out manual.

any other recommendation? thanks bro smile.gif

I can think of the Hyundai i30 hatchback 1.6 manual selling at 90k. European styled ad well received by Australians n Europeans n looks nice too.

Or try the nissan Lation 1.6 sedan manual too around less than 90k. But i would pick the i30 manual over here as it looks better n a better car too.

Hmm, with ur salary u can go fine with a new saga BLM or a perodua viva. Starch till 9 years loan is possible but its torturing. May suggest to put downpayment up to 20% of the car price n take up to 7 years of loan instead.

I only entertain post that is following the form as below and realistic post. Post that is for "shock sendiri" n unrealistic will not be entertained.

I would pick the city vtec here. The city wins the FC over the civic due to its light weight and the CVT gearbox. I drove my bro's city vtec before and its is a good car to drive. I would prefer the facelifted version which is out by end of 2005 n starting of 2006. U can find that below 60k now.

Just test drive the city and check the gearbox by changing its gears to see if everything work fine. Check the service manual to see if its properly maintained by the previous owner.

The civic ES 1.7 is considered as one of the less popular civic among its lineup. It suffers from its poor n bumby rear suspension which made the ride poorer.
