Hmm if u can get such loan then why not, although i have doubts such loan is obtainable.

For that choice seeing u will have ur own family soon a iswara LMST is more favorable due that it has a bigger boot but the kelisa is much economical to maintain.
By that u mean LMST is costly due to it's maintenance eh? Can explain a bit to me? I thought the spare part of LMST is easy to find bcoz it's Mitsubishi part rite? Anyway IMO that 150-200 per month loan is by calculating the price of used LMST. It's around 15k for 2004 model so if i choose 7 years loan with 5%(used car interest) i pay aprox 170 per month with 5k(trade in my old kancil laugh.gif ) down payment. Hurmm... hmm.gif

Btw my 1st post here, cool and useful section!

I know parts for proton saga LMST is cheaper compared to perodua but being a proton always, expect lousy parts and breakdowns which attributed to more spending for car maintainence. Perodua cars are mainly more reliable than proton hence despite the parts are pricey, its worth it to reduce ur hassle.

I think better go for a used kelisa. It is better equipped than the kosong viva. Not to mention its very economical and fun to drive too.

Thank you both of you. Syamirc, why do you prefer viva? Any reason?

Hey guys. Any guidance to buy a used city? Well I'd been traveled to Malacca to see the car as it is sold by my friend's dad. Test drive the car and so far is OK, not sure a very tiny knocking is normal for a 2004 city. The engine and gearbox wise is OK. 4 new Dunlop tyres. However it seems like the car price is still stick with 52K with many tiny 'scars' at the outlook, which make it seems like bit over used.
Well, I will go to see more this coming weekend and KL car price is much lower. (Scare of those car which has 'rendam' during flood).
Was informed 2004 below 51K and 2005 city with around 55K.
Any guidance or advise here? My budget will be around 50K +/- 3000. smile.gif

Maybe the viva has the advantage of being a new car which has warranty to cover. Still i prefer the kelisa more and then a used kelisa will be a better option IMHO. Cheap to buy and cheap to maintain as well.

I would go to the honda stream if resale value is a concern here. Unless u planning to keep the mazda 5 for long and stays in KL, get the mazda 5. I do heard praises from my fren's saying its a good MPV with car characteristics.

52K is still okay but if can, nego it to 50k and u get a good deal. Most importantly, check the car for service record to see if its properly maintained by the previous owner and if it is serviced by authorized honda workshops. If there is no service record, avoid that car at best, u never know what happened to that car.

A sedan will be ur choice, although the gen2 has good boot space for a hatchback.

Ur requirement gap is quite wide so i cant determine whether u should go for city/vios or used civic as choosing them will suits u anyway. Test drive all these cars and see which one suits u the best.

I would prefer the used 2005 1/8 FD civic which u can get for 80-90k for now.

after the surveys, now shortlist Honda City, Vios& Kia Forte. (all ~80+)
Honda City and Vios now is waiting for their promotion annoucement.
While for Forte, Its prices quite attractive, however, pretty worry on naza performance.
i will use this car for >5 years.

What your comments on the above selections?

Thanks.

I think by end of yr the best u can get is approx 1-2k discount for the city while for vios, u can get lots of promotions n discounts for end of yr models.

If so, i recommend u to get the forte. It is a very well spec car for the price of the vios and its a good looking car. Test drive it and see if u like it. The only gripe is Naza poor 2 yr warranty and poor aftersales service, but there a growth num of KIA specialized workshops in Mysia, so nothing to worry about here. smile.gif

Well take the exora as what i advised earlier on ur thread. But if u have set ur budget till 100k, the chery eastar MPV can be fetched within 80-87K depending on trims or consider the nissan grand livina at almost 100k. I think the best value will goes to the exora here.

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a used car with sporty look for daily usage.

This is my detail:

Brand: Any brand with sporty look. Kind of addicted to round edge design like FTO, Hyundai Coupe
Budget : < 40k
New/Used/Unreg : Used
Specs : Any
Transmission : preferably AT, but MT is fine
Type : Sport
Remarks : Looking for something that is easy to maintain (e.g. easy to get part, part price is reasonable)

Many thanks,
evios

With 7 gear mode and service report. Vtec. Mileage within 90K KM. Test drive OK.
Dealing price 57K. Worth it?

2. Budget : 75-80K
3. New/Used/Unreg : New
4. Specs : Full Spec
5. Transmission : Auto
6. Type : 4 seater.
7. Remarks : I would mostly use the car during the weekend cause i ride my bike to work. i am unmarried. planning to buy a house in 3 years' time.

Note:

i have been closely following Kia Forte since its introduction and tbh i am really impressed. however a lot of my pals have been telling me against buying it. while in the US and Singapore it has been a success story.

is this car really worth buying considering the value it offers with the amount of money spent. i earn around 2.5k after epf deduction. fyi, this is my first car and this is also the first time i want to commit to a loan. i dont want to burden myself in the future. do you guys think that paying one third of my salary every month for car installment is a wise decision. and that excludes fuel, maintenance etc. i have not experienced it before how the spending is like after having a car so i need your advice very badly.

if you think my budget is over my ability, please advise on what is the best car for me. though i dream of having a forte.

i thank you guys in advance for your advice.

40k will not get u sports cars unless if u go for a older celica which u wont able to obtain loan for that. However, u can opt for sporty cars like the used satria or satria neo. I believe u can get less than 40k for the used satria neo, while the older satria is much cheaper, perhaps below than 30k. With the money saved with the older satria u can have some money to mod the performance.

That still okay, although i prefer to make it 55k. That must be the facelifted version i believe.

Hmmm unless if u keeping the car for long actually the kia forte is worth buying. I mean keep it long till 7 years and more so u wont lose alot in depreciation.

With ur such pay, i think u can allocate 700-800 per month for car installment at max, but seeing u gonna invest for a house in the future, and if u dont have much downpayment, then consider alternatives like a new persona or a used vios/city for less than 60k.

I would personally advice to go for loan not more than 7 years and not more than 800 per month for ur case.

thanks for the advice travis_ckf. i would like to get a new car.

i plan to pay 850 at max if i buy a forte, so i will pay the down payment as necessary. however i am seeking other options as well. the new toyota vios does not impress me with the exterior design already, so i am off by it. persona, while i opted for it before, until the emergence of forte end of last month. really a headache to think about it every day whether forte is the one for me. i am afraid it will affect my financial plan. thats why i need all your inputs so that i dont end up burdening myself.

thank you in advance.

Unless if u have downpayment of say, RM40k then u can go for the forte. Otherwise, save the money and go for the persona. Its not bad for ur money.

1. Brand : Proton WAJA 1.6X/1.8X Premium OR FORD LYNX RS 2.0i(A) Sunroof
2. Budget : 50K
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : Full Spec
5. Transmission : Auto
6. Type : Sporty handling automatic sedan.
7. Remarks : I am single at the moment. Will sell off my Ford Telstar 1998/99 V6 body 2.0i4 Ghia for RM13,800 hopefully.

Note: If I get WAJA 1.6X Premium 4G18 Mitsubishi engine, I'll leave it STOCK coz the standard engine is ECONOMICAL AND TOUGH. Budget, below RM30k. BUT If I get a Waja 1.8X, plan to use till engine KO then Changed to Mitsubishi MIVEC MD engine with INVECS-II Sports mode (tiptronic). I planned to set RM23k budget for the car and RM12k for transplant. ORIGINAL IDEA is Mitsubishi FTO MIVEC 6A12 engine but heard JPJ no longer approve 2.0L conversion for Waja. Preferably PREMIUM SPEC (ie. ABS, Airbag, Leather) in Met Dark Grey (premium colour) OR BLACK (ASEAN / OIC edition).

ON THE OTHER HAND, If I get a Ford Lynx RS 2.0i(A) Red or White, I'll leave it STOCK. Maybe worse case scenario, K&N drop in filter, EBC Brake hose+Bendix Metalking, ATF Cooler that's all... For the Lynx RS, my budget is BELOW RM50k. Pref Red or white with below 120000km, accident free. NICE NO and Service record would be a BONUS.

Thanks for reading... Pls help me to find...

i'll suggest you to take the Toyota wish unreg.
new wish will come out soon so the unreg price will drop further below RM100k.
is proven a good car and long lasting.
