well, its just that you are getting less performance with intel + nvidia/ati with that budget.

Hi experts.
What would you recommend for office use?
1. If it is the primary work machine. Office won't supply a desktop but will provide monitor & kb for office use.
2. enough processing power to work on databases, load big excel files etc. Current desktop is Core2 6420@ 2.13 GHz + 2 GB ram. It occasionally feels underpowered when working with databases.
3. as small as possible. work away from desk is only meetings so a small screen/kb isn't going to kill.
4. long battery life (enough to last a 3 hour site meetings at minimum settings)
5. budget is unsure but lets say under 5k. no Sony or Fujitsu please. Windows only.


one more thing: i won't be gaming on this. purely for work.

dell inspiron 13, if you don't need dvd drive.

look for Acer Timeline series, Asus UL series, Dell Inspiron z series, HP Pavilion DM series...

yeah don't need dvd drive. easier to save the whole 3gp into a thumbdrive

Hi guys.. need recomendation for buying a laptop..

My budget is around 1.5k to 1.8k.. i know its not much but its just for simple computing need.

After a lot of searching i'm thinking about either acer 1410 and lonovo g450
I know its very different from each other but what do you guys think??

if its to be your main computer, take the lenovo g450.
unless you need the portability and battery life of acer 1410T

Its my secondary computer... just for simple stuff.. like browsing simple proggamming... mainly for study

well then, acer 1410T might be a good choice
but still, do try at shop first, see if the 11.6'' too small for your eyes.

Do consider acer 1810T, the extra pixel on height is good for seeing more lines on programming

unless portability and battery life is an issue, lenovo g450 has much more better value

I wanted ASUS N51VN,but ASUS company stopped producing that a few months ago,now out of stock,I couldn't find it.Though ASUS replaced it with N61VN,but it costs Rm5.9k,which I can't afford,so I need new recommendations,help!

HP C515 business laptop just below RM1.7k. Good performance, cheap & durable. Check my sign if u r interested to know more detail.

3. Usage - Microsoft office, online game, game (able to run NFS Carbon on medium or high setting is better), chatting, movies.

BEnQ S42, Dell Studio 15

benq s42 for 3k, studio 15 for 2.7k, if can up budget to 3.3k, benq s57 is much better choice.
