Hi all,
I'm thinking of getting one K50AB, wondering how is the performance. I've been using Phenom 9550 + 8800GT + 2.5GB Ram(I know it's odd), will I suffer if I were to buy and use K50AB? Main usage - Graphics programming + 3D design (blender3d) + Gaming Thanks |

i heard that newer batch of this model is assembled with better revision of amd x2 which reduces heat and slightly faster... am i right?
im quite interested in getting this model for medium gaming purpose..but im afraid the heat generated.. Whats the idle and loaded temperature of this laptop with newer proc? Can any owner or experienced sifu clear my doubt? |

Yeah, I know, but the difference is about 700RM, which is a decent amount to me...
Is the difference really big on processing speed? I just need to compile a moderately big program (which takes about 2 mins per compilation on my Phenom)? Haihzzz, too bad I'm poorchie poor... Else getting myself a Alienware d hahaha... @Riggo I think you're referring to QL64 to QL65 upgrade, but I don't there's a huge difference in both the procs... I'm not 100% sure tho |

I will be getting mine later in the evening, will do a general review on my 40ab im quite interested in getting this model for medium gaming purpose..but im afraid the heat generated.. Whats the idle and loaded temperature of this laptop with newer proc? Can any owner or experienced sifu clear my doubt? when i had a look at the laptop @ lowyat few days ago, I saw this sticker "25% cooler than body temperature"(or something like that) Ive seen too many posts when they were enquiring about ASUS "Hows the heat?" i mean like..god... that problem was soooooo long ago, they think AMD wont do anything about it meh? physical review from short glance..the built is solid, i really like the glossy finishing, HP-Pav-alike to me.. but they keypad materials look cheap, i havent really feel all the buttons yet, but they look cheap plastic. LCD is awesome pls KL dont so jam tonite, haha~ |

I'm not 100% sure tho well, in ur case, K50Ab is ur best bet then... since u wan for both work and game... but pls dun compare with ur Phenom I... for a start it's a quad we re talking abt... theoratically speaking a dual with the same clock speed would take double the time, but Athlon QL-65 is only 2.1GHz, with no shared cache, plus it's a K8 instead of a K10, so expect no less than 5mins on the same program... as for the difference between QL-64 and QL-65, the both ve the same clock speed, the difference lies in HT speed... QL-64 is 1800MHz while QL-65 is 2000MHz... |

Yeah I know it's a Quad, I just don't know the responsiveness of the lappie, I'm an impatient guy...
I need the responsiveness when I'm doing interactive job (3dsmax, MSVS) hehe... I used my friends Pentium M, and got impatient REALLY REALLY quickly (It's like I'm going to burn the machine right the second I'm using them haha)... |

@astria
I've been using PC since a long time ago (XT era haha)... I've got 2 X2 rig at my home too, they're still bearable... I think the QL65 is almost equals to X2 4400+ right? Cause I've got one at home, and if the performance is equal, then I think the laptop can escape the fate of being burnt by me hahaha... |
