yes to undervolt the cpu thus longer battery life & cooler temps.

factory VID is often higher than necessary needed for the cpu.

I've seen one the laptop price list from the Lowyat.net, it saying Asus K40AB Clearance, so will this laptop stop manufacturing or stop market in the next few weeks?

Just to spice up this boring thread, this is how my lappie looks now (I hoping no newbie ask what is that). I've clean all the critical component, and applied Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal paste. The fan now are reasonably quiet, instead of a high pitch whine now its only emit a low hum.

cool,but does modding it gonna void the warranty??I might try something on my lappy later.

The fanmod shouldn't void any warranty, since there are no void stickers to be removed and there are no solder joints or hardmod on the fan

I really would like to try it before its too late.

In idle with resistor it around 50-54C for CPU in 2.1GHz and 47-50C at 1.05GHz, the GPU is around 50-53C at 2D speed (220MHz core 250MHz memory) or 53-55C at 729MHz core 603MHz memory in desktop. In load the GPU reaches only around 80C in GPU toaster FurMark, so in any games it wont even reach that temperature Remember, my resistance is 6.67 ohm, you could use lower (5 ohm) for faster speed or 10 ohm for more silent computing

Found the registry solution for Warcraft III : Frozen Throne,

Merely navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\Video and change resheight and reswidth to 768 and 1366 respectively. (Decimal not hexadecimal)

Guys while I was on battery today, the remaining percentage shoot up from 6 % to 15% before going down again normally giving me another extra 15minute of usage before entering hibernation.

I think its time to calibrate the battery. No idea how to do a proper battery calibration using the option in Bios.

just start the battery calibration and let it run?
